M C CORMACK PRINTING IMPRESSIONS

continuing a Legacy of Excellence through strategic growth

McCormack Printing Impressions (MPI) has embarked on an exciting new chapter in its storied history by acquiring the core assets of The Howard Print Shop (HPS) in Kokomo, Indiana. The investment will help the company expand its products and services to HPS customers. Established in 1975 by Gene and Pat McCormack, MPI has long been a cornerstone of the greater Tipton County area print industry, celebrated for its commitment to service excellence, graphic design, and quality printing solutions.

“We have known and worked with the Howard family for many years...”

...When Dave shared his retirement plans and interest in passing the baton to MPI, we were honored. We felt it was the right time to take this step to expand our services to Howard Print Shop customers making it a win for Dave, his customers, and MPI.” - Kevin

As Dave Howard, HPS founder and owner, was preparing for retirement after 60 years in the printing industry, he reached out to MPI with a proposal. The two companies, just one county and some 17 miles apart, were more colleagues than competitors collaborating on many printing projects over the years. Howard said he could not think of a more compatible company to continue serving HPS’ customers because MPI was trusted, reputable, and shared the same values of integrity and commitment to service excellence.

The decision to expand through this acquisition was driven by MPI’s dedication to preserving the high standards and exceptional service that both businesses have been known for. “This affords the

opportunity to provide continuity and support for HPS customers going forward and grow our business as well,” explained Chris McCormack, MPI co-owner. “Our goal is to honor the legacy of HPS’ 38 years in the business while integrating their expertise and resources into our operations.”

MPI’s strategic move comes at a time when the print industry is experiencing rapid changes and challenges. By acquiring the assets of HPS, MPI aims to enhance and extend its services to HPS customers while continuing to innovate in the face of evolving market demands. The acquisition includes customer files, equipment, and a long term employee all of which have been seamlessly integrated into MPI’s existing operations in Tipton, Indiana.

For MPI, this acquisition, effective January 31, 2025, is more than just a business decision; it is a testament to their enduring commitment to their customers and their vision for the future. “We are excited to welcome new customers and an exceptional employee into our family,” said Mary Frances (McCormack) Fernung, MPI co-owner. “This opportunity allows us to introduce new products and services to HPS customers to best meet their needs now and in the future. We look forward to serving HPS customers with the same passion and dedication that has been our hallmark for 50 years.”

As MPI looks to the future, the company is poised to build on its rich legacy and embark on a new era of quality, innovation, and service excellence. MPI remains steadfast in its mission to deliver exceptional printing solutions and support the growth and success of its customers by helping them to make their best impression.

Sibling owners (L-R) Kevin McCormack, Mary Frances (McCormack) Fernung, Chris McCormack and Dave Howard, HPS Founder and former owner.

Whether your plans involve relocating here or simply passing through for a weekend event, Kokomo has something to offer everyone. We invite you to immerse yourself in our city and uncover what makes Kokomo truly unique.

INNOVATION AND GROWTH

As the birthplace of groundbreaking inventions such as America’s first gasoline combustion engine cars, stainless steel, and signal-seeking radios, Kokomo’s history of innovation continues to thrive today. Our community boasts a strong presence in the automotive, manufacturing, and technology industries. Companies like Stellantis and Samsung SDI, which have heavily invested in the Kokomo area as Star Plus Energy, are expanding their facilities to leverage our talented workforce. The construction of two EV battery factories by this joint venture will further revolutionize Kokomo’s manufacturing landscape and maintain our city’s leading position in this emerging industry in America.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

In comparison to the national average and most other Midwest cities, Kokomo offers excellent and affordable housing options. The median home price in Kokomo is approximately $146,000, significantly lower than the national median average value of $338,100. Whether you are seeking a Victorian home in our National Register Historic District, a luxury apartment near amenities, a spacious condominium in the downtown area, or a newly built bungalow in an established neighborhood, Kokomo’s diverse housing options cater to a variety of preferences for any budget.

STRONG SECONDARY EDUCATION SYSTEM

Kokomo places a high value on education as a fundamental pillar of our community. With a network of four local school corporations, we provide a world-class education system offering unique learning opportunities for all students. These opportunities include Advanced Placement courses, International Baccalaureate programs, an International School, and a Career Center—all designed to prepare students for college or technical careers.

POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION

Kokomo is home to unparalleled postsecondary education opportunities in central Indiana. The vibrant campuses of Indiana University Kokomo and Ivy Tech Community College attract students not only from across the nation but also from around the globe. Purdue Polytechnic Kokomo and Indiana Wesleyan University also offer expanding programs to meet the increasing demands of our regional workforce.

COMMUNITY AND AMENITIES

Beyond its industrial achievements, Kokomo offers a progressive community and a diverse range of amenities that draw new residents. Residents can enjoy attractions like the Championship Park baseball multiplex, the picturesque downtown Riverwalk, the popular Summer Concert Series, the Downtown Farmer’s Market, and numerous annual community festivals. Our highly anticipated Kokomo Hotel and Conference Center will soon take center stage and house our Automotive Heritage Museum. These are just a few of the many elements that make Kokomo an exceptional place to live, work, play, and raise a family.

EXPERIENCE KOKOMO’S VIBRANCY

Upon experiencing Kokomo’s thriving network of commerce, arts, universities, world-class manufacturing, and quality amenities, you will understand why it remains a dynamic city not just in Indiana but throughout the Midwest. You will encounter these remarkable features wherever your visit takes you, so be prepared to be impressed during your stay!

See you soon in Kokomo!

Bernard is planning a romantic weekend with his chic Parisian mistress in his charming converted French farmhouse, whilst his wife, Jacqueline, is away. He has arranged for a cordon bleu cook to prepare gourmet delights, and has invited his best friend, Robert, along too to provide the alibi. It’s foolproof; what could possibly go wrong? Well... suppose Robert turns up not realizing quite why he has been invited. Suppose Robert and Jacqueline are secret lovers, and consequently determined that Jacqueline will NOT leave for the weekend. Suppose the cook has to pretend to be the mistress and the mistress can’t cook. Suppose everyone’s alibi gets confused with everyone else’s. An evening of hilarious confusion ensues as Bernard and Robert improvise at breakneck speed.
