2020

A LETTER FROM THE MAYOR OF NOBLESVILLE Welcome to Noblesville! Noblesville is a growing and thriving city, with our expanding economic development balanced with our unique historic downtown. We are home to fantastic amenities including five public parks, Ruoff Music Center, Hamilton Town Center mall and our distinctive historic downtown square. Noblesville operates two outstanding public golf courses and has several top-notch private venues such as The Sagamore Club, Central Indiana’s only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course. The city also is home to the Millers and our Blue Ribbon Noblesville Schools system.

investments that expand our downtown across the White River. One project I am particularly excited about it Hobbs Station, which will reintegrate the former train yard site back into Forest Park as a viable and attractive piece of the park. With 135 excursions planned in 2020, the increased potential for visitors to Forest Park for the train is more than 25,000 people. Most importantly, this will allow Nickel Plate Express to operate out of Forest Park and make Noblesville the home of the train, again.

PUBLIC HEALTH & SAFETY

Public Health and Safety are key ingredients to a livable, growing and successful community. The city is fortunate to have many health care providers and highly accredited police and fire departments that are well equipped and well trained to maintain a safe environment for all. The city is implementing a paramedicine WORKFORCE AND ECONOMIC program called NobleAct. This program DEVELOPMENT Noblesville’s financial well-being is built on a utilizes current community, health care and public safety resources to proactively diverse, growing economy. We are fortunate identify and assist the public with nonto be a growing community both in terms of residents and businesses. My administration’s emergency needs, health issues, and strives to maintain a healthy community. NobleAct vision is to be proactive, not reactive and is a multipronged approach based on the attract businesses that make sense. We will Community Health Assessment, public safety establish a strong economic identity and data analysis, trending issues, stakeholder medical technology and manufacturing is a needs and citizen feedback. key to that. At this moment of opportunity, Noblesville is ready to come together and lead in building our city’s bright Next Chapter. My administration is focused on four pillars to better our community:

DOWNTOWN, CULTURE, & RECREATION

Our downtown is a treasure, but one that needs preservation and enhancing. The city has projects that will increase our downtown livability and provide immediate density and energy along with new commercial and retail space. We are continuing to attract

ROADS & INFRASTRUCTURE

Infrastructure improvement projects must be made to address both current and future needs and are a wise investment for our community and public safety. The improvements will make it easier for local residents and visitors to get where they need to be, when they need to be there. Pleasant Street’s expansion is priority No. 1 in terms 2020 DIRECTORY AND RELOCATION GUIDE / 3

of infrastructure going forward. Increasing or east-west connectivity is essential to our city’s continued growth. The City of Noblesville and the Indiana Department of Transportation have an infrastructure partnership for the construction of five new roundabout intersections to improve traffic flow throughout the community by enhancing east-west connectivity. The two-phase construction is scheduled to begin in 2021 with State Road 32 and 38 and the intersection of State Road 32 and River Road. The other three will begin in 2023. As construction begins south of our city, we will continue to work on plans for State Road 37 improvements in Noblesville. In recent years, the city has focused on adding quality-of-life amenities like the recently completed Logan Street Pedestrian Bridge, Federal Hill Commons, Midland Trace Trail, Zagster Bike Shares, expanding free community events, and activating alleys and the White River. Noblesville was the seventh community named to the Indiana Statewide Cultural Districts Program and with more than 300 cultural arts events each year, it’s clear that arts and culture are thriving in our city. In addition to the people and places, Noblesville has so many amenities and reasons to make you feel at home. As mayor, I hope that you’ll take some time to explore our city and discover for yourself why Noblesville is a unique place and a growing community — one that has been nationally recognized as a place to live, work, play and retire. - Chris Jensen Mayor of Noblesville

Big Woods Restaurant Group Corporate Chef: Patrick Matthews and Big Woods Hazel Dell General Manager: Eric Edwards

partners, and some employees who were interested in starting a new business led to the opening of Hard Truth Distilling Company and, eventually, our 300-acre distillery/restaurant/experience center at Hard Truth Hills,” Ryan says.

“Ten years ago, we opened a brewpub in a little timber frame building in downtown Nashville, Indiana,” says Ed Ryan, chief executive officer of BWQOHT, Inc. “We called it Big Woods in homage to the large timbers used to construct the building, and the wonderful forests we are surrounded by in Brown County.”

The company’s beer line is now known as Quaff On! Brewing Co., its restaurants are called Big Woods Restaurants, and its most recent sister company is Hard Truth Distilling Company. Today the company is known as BWQOHT, Inc. (Big Woods Restaurant Group, Quaff On! Brewing Company, and Hard Truth Distilling Company).

In 2012, demand for the company’s beer outside of its restaurants led to the creation of Quaff On! Brewing Company, which is now one of the largest beer manufacturers in Indiana. Three years later, a sister company was formed.

In February Big Woods leaders opened a seventh location in Noblesville on Hazel Dell Crossing. The new 7,700-square-foot location seats 250 guests, including 40 patio spots and two private rooms for party rentals.

“My chemistry background, our inspired

friends who live in the Hamilton County area as they have visited our other locations, and we are excited to get to see them more often now,” Ryan says. “We love the fact that Big Woods Hazel Dell is surrounded by all of these great neighborhoods, and that we can be part of that cool sense of place.” Chris Curtin, vice president of operations for Big Woods Restaurant Group, is thrilled to have a new Noblesville presence since the community has a nice assortment of restaurant offerings. “[Noblesville] is a growing community consisting of mostly family households, and that is what we cater to,” says Curtin, noting that Big Woods is an experience that the whole family can enjoy. “I think that’s something Noblesville was missing.” Patrick Matthews, corporate chef for Big Woods Restaurant Group, put a lot of thought into the kids’ menu.

“We want Big Woods to be a place where children and their parents want to go not one or the other,” Curtin says. “We structured the menus, the decor and the location with that in mind.” Matthews says his main focus when creating the menu was to bring unique ingredients and bold flavors to the fore, and present them in a way that guests would truly appreciate. “From a culinary perspective, we chose to add items that would give us a broader appeal to all guests who come to Big Woods,” Matthews says. “This can be seen in the new menu items such as Thai Vegan Red Curry, Chicken Street Tacos or our Candied Bacon Bomb Burger.” Two of the restaurant’s long-standing, popular items are the pulled pork barbecue nachos and the smoked wings. In an effort to add a more diverse flavor scale to the menu, Matthews stuck to a Three-F rule fresh, flavorful and fun. “I hope with this new menu that new and long-standing guests will not only appreciate the additions but also have fun while trying them,” he says. Blake Wolpert, a longtime fan of Big Woods, was impressed when he first visited the Nashville restaurant. “New ventures are sometimes less than superlative, but they came right out of the gate with some of the best craft beer before getting into the distilled spirits,” Wolpert says. “They went from zero to perfect with the spirits. All of their products are so good. Plus, the food and ambience are great.” Matt Coffman has loved the restaurant for years, and says he counted the days until Big Woods Hazel Dell opened. “I’m so excited because our family used to drive to Speedway, and now there’s one in my backyard,” says Coffman, who enjoys the woodsy, rustic atmosphere of Big Woods, as well as the tasty flavor of nachos covered in smoked pork. “With so many chain restaurants around, we are thrilled to have this option so close.” 2020 DIRECTORY AND RELOCATION GUIDE

“I HOPE WITH THIS NEW MENU THAT NEW AND LONG-STANDING GUESTS WILL NOT O N LY A P P R E C I A T E THE ADDITIONS BUT A L S O H AV E F U N W H I L E TRYING THEM.”

So far, Hamilton County residents have welcomed the new Big Woods establishment. “This is a great community, and the response has been outstanding,” Curtin says. “The feedback from guests has been overwhelmingly positive about the transformation of the space, the service and the menus.” Big Woods Hazel Dell is located at 14741 Hazel Dell Crossing in Noblesville. GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR SPORT BY AVOIDING INJURY Writer / Bryan Mayol, MD, sports medicine specialist at IU Health Saxony Hospital

Sports are a great way to exercise and have fun at the same time, and with the right exercise routine, you can minimize your chance for injuries. Dr. Bryan Mayol, a sports medicine specialist at IU Health Saxony Hospital, provides five tips for preventing sports-related injuries. WARM UP This is very important for injury prevention, much more so than stretching prior to exercise. Before stepping onto the field or court and going full speed, give yourself 15-20 minutes to get your body moving. Warming up helps loosen your joints and prepare your muscles for higher intensity work. Hamstring strains, for example, are a common sports-related injury and are less likely to happen when your muscles are warmed up. Start your warm up with a light jog or running in place to get your heart rate up. Then begin with active stretches such as toe touches, deep lunges, knee hugs and jumping jacks. WEAR THE PROPER EQUIPMENT Certain sports have protective gear for a reason. Make sure your gear, including

helmets, mouth guards or pads fit you properly. Gear that is too big or too small isn’t protecting your body correctly and can result in injury. Know when it’s time to replace your gear as well. If your protective gear has taken too many blows, it may not be as effective. You can contact the manufacturer for recommendations on when it’s advisable to replace your gear. GET ENOUGH REST Your body needs time to recover after a practice or a game. The micro-injuries to our tissues heal and repair as we sleep, and as a result we get stronger. When athletes do not get enough sleep, their muscles become fatigued and they are at greater risk for injury. Overuse injuries, such as shin splints, can sometimes be a result of too much physical activity in a short time and not enough rest. You cannot expect your body to perform at its best if it’s running on a low battery. DO NOT POWER THROUGH PAIN You may be making a minor injury much worse if you do this. Also, when our bodies are in pain we alter the way we do things. Changing the way you move or tackle to avoid pain can lead to a more serious injury. See a Sports Medicine physician sooner 2020 DIRECTORY AND RELOCATION GUIDE

rather than later to avoid further damage, and certainly if the pain continues or makes it difficult to perform everyday activities. COOL DOWN Cooling down is just as important as warming up. Stretching after activity helps maintain flexibility to promote good body mechanics, and can also reduce the buildup of lactic acid from tough workouts which can make your muscles cramp and feel stiff.

QUALITY. CUSTOM. LOCAL.

Mercantile 37 Offers Custom Furnishings, Home Décor Products and Much More Writer / Julie Yates Photographer / Eli Beaverson

Mercantile 37 is not only a destination where patrons can spend an enjoyable time shopping and eating - it’s also a slice of local history. Renovated by the Roudebush family, the former truck stop located on State Road 37 North houses a showroom filled with locally-made gifts, vintage knickknacks and custom home décor crafted from reclaimed materials. Within the facility, Wheelers Cafe and Market offers locallysourced beverages and food items. “My wife Emma’s great-great uncle Cecil Scott built the truck stop, Scotty’s Inn, in 1940,” Nick Roudebush says. “In the 1970s it became Wheelers Restaurant, a diner. The building was vacant from 1999 to 2017, when we purchased it.” Truly a family business, Nick and Emma own Mercantile 37 with Nick’s parents, J.R. and Kelly Roudebush. Family friends Neal and Angie Fine operate Wheelers Cafe and Market. Emma and Kelly act as showroom designers, while Nick and J.R.

are responsible for assembling custom furnishings such as lighting, tables, chairs and stools, countertops, coffee and side tables, shelving and mantels, as well as reupholstering and repainting furniture. Most of the material used comes from old barns or inner-city salvage. “Mercantile 37 has items from a collective of local makers,” Roudebush says. “There are lots of routes a customer can go with their experience here. We offer various styles here - not just one. People can find modern farmhouse, mid-century modern or industrial chic. Our customers are fully engaged in the design process. For instance, a family of four might come in and want a table, but they want to be able to do crafts on it.” Stopping by Wheelers is a must when visiting Mercantile 37. Open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Tuesday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, the cafe serves breakfast, lunch, local coffee and Indiana-brewed beer and spirits. Locallygrown organic produce and foodstuffs are available in the market for purchase.

Several special events are scheduled at Mercantile 37 for the upcoming months. On May 2, Spoil & Soil will offer customers the chance to buy locally-crafted Mother’s Day gifts and organic heirloom vegetable starts. On June 13, Throwback Night will feature vintage cars, and music from previous decades. “I think folks that come in our showroom appreciate values like quality, custom, local and homemade,” Roudebush says. “We custom-build all of our furnishings to the customer’s needs, and right here on site.” Visit Mercantile 37 at 25625 State Road 37 North in Noblesville. Hours of operation are: Tue. by appointment; Wed. and Thu. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Fri. and Sat. 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Visit Mercantile37.com or call 765-7341683 for more information.

CarSnoop: New App Takes the Time & Stress Out of New Car Buying Writer / Jon Shoulders Photographer / Michael Durr

Cole Keesling knew as far back as 1997 that the traditional approach to car buying could be improved upon. He was determined to establish a service that could eliminate the hassle of long waits at dealerships, and backand-forth haggling. “I knew there had to be a better way,” says Keesling, who has extensive experience as a new and used auto sales manager and finance manager. “I started out a few years

ago by talking to people needing cars and getting information on their trade-in vehicle and then talking to multiple dealers on their behalf to get offers so they wouldn’t have to have that hassle. I did about 100 deals manually without any sort of app, and now we have our app, CarSnoop, that makes the entire buying process that much easier.” Users can stay home and download the CarSnoop app on their smartphone and enter details for the vehicle they wish to lease or buy. The app finds customers a range of new car offers from CarSnoop’s 2020 DIRECTORY AND RELOCATION GUIDE

exclusive network of Indiana dealers, who can then bid on the customer’s new vehicle need. It’s all 100% anonymous — dealers have no information on potential buyers beyond the city they live in, and as such, customers are not bombarded with emails and sales calls. After customers choose the right deal for them, all the necessary paperwork is prepared so that the customer only needs to sign and pick up their new car. Even those trading in their used vehicle can do so through CarSnoop’s hassle-free process,

which involves uploading photos and entering a few basic pieces of information like mileage, condition and vehicle identification number. A refundable $100 deposit is required once a customer has searched the app for their preferred vehicle attributes and is ready to view the best offers. Once the transaction is complete, the deposit is refunded. The final paperwork and delivery steps can be completed at a dealership, or the dealer can deliver the documents and car to the customer’s preferred location. “Our number-one priority is the user experience — we want the user to feel the process we’ve built makes sense, is easy to understand, and is comfortable,” says Keesling, adding that CarSnoop is a locallyowned company based in Fortville. The CarSnoop app is currently only available for Indiana customers, and Keesling says the company —which also includes Keesling’s wife Janel, who serves as brand champion, Vice President Shawn Manion, and Dealership Sales Manager Chris Evans — plans to expand into the Louisville and Cincinnati market by the summer.

“We want 100 dealers per market area of about one million people,” Keesling says. “We’re going to do about 60% of our business from the core dealers - Chevrolet, Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chrysler Dodge Jeep. We’re currently doing new cars only because we don’t want condition to be an objection at delivery. We will be moving to certified preowned options in the future as well.” Keesling says a top issue throughout the auto industry in recent years is a desire on the part identity,” he says. “On the app, you’re building of buyers for alternative methods for buying your exact car, right down to the color.” cars that reduce direct dealership involvement. The reasons Keesling wanted to launch “I think we’re ahead of the curve with the CarSnoop in the Central Indiana market way the market is going,” he says. “It’s our are simple. job to educate the buyer, and everybody is able to chat directly with us. When “I’ve spent 22 years in the car business, with customers are chatting with CarSnoop, they most of that in the Indianapolis market, and are literally speaking with me and Shawn. we’re all from here — we couldn’t think of a Also, if they want to do a test drive they can better place to start,” he says. “We wanted to do that and ask not to be entered into the get behind the Indiana tech movement. The dealership’s system. There are virtual test relationships with dealers that Shawn, Chris drives online now, too.” and I have here are great. We really believe we’re going to change the way people lease Keesling stresses that CarSnoop is a buying or buy new cars, doing it from right here in app rather than a shopping app. Indianapolis.” “We encourage the customer to do their homework on the vehicle they want to lease or buy elsewhere, and then come to CarSnoop where they can protect their 2020 DIRECTORY AND RELOCATION GUIDE

SPRING LAWN CARE ESSENTIALS April is upon us and there are certain things we want to do with the lawn in April.

CRABGRASS CONTROL

If you have not gotten your crabgrass controls down, this needs to be done. Once this window is missed it is difficult to get on top of it. It was a pretty mild winter and as of this writing March has been relatively warm. The soil temperatures are increasing fairly fast. Each crabgrass plant can produce 150,000 seeds. And when one kills the plant it is brown, unsightly and the carcass of the plant remains for several weeks. Along edges, park strips with debris in them, and areas that get weed eated too short or driven over are susceptible to crabgrass.

SEEDING

This is a time I consider seeding in shady areas only. The tree leaves are not quite out and the ground is clean and the seed has a good chance to germinate in the spring. I do not like to seed in sunny areas as there are a few problems with spring seeding lawns. As we have cool season grasses here, the

organic approach

new plants will be juvenile and much of the energy goes to the blade in the spring. I prefer to seed sunny areas in the early fall/late summer. The plant will germinate and, as fall approaches, the physiology of the plant will begin to send energy to the root system which will then develop over winter and in the early spring allowing for a mature plant in the summer which can survive the summer.

ces the amount u d re h ac ro p p A ic Our Organ t into the environmen g n oi g s al ic em ch of Independently owned and operated since 1989

MOWING

The lawn is coming out of its winter sleep and mowing will begin to occur. Sharpen your blades. This will help reduce shredding the turf and keep unwanted pathogens out of the turf. This helps keep the turf plant healthy and reduces diseases. As the lawn comes out of dormancy the majority of the energy will be used to create cell elongation and the turf will grow quickly.

BROADLEAF WEED CONTROL & FERTILIZER

Broadleaf weeds are beginning to show up. Dandelions, clover, plantain, and other weeds begin to germinate and they are controlled with post emergent weed controls. If you use a granular product purchased at a store, these products generally need to be applied when the turfgrass is moist. At this time, a high amount of nitrogen is not necessarily required. The plant will have its own energy and the soil will become alive with millions of reactions releasing nutrients.

LEGACY BIBLE CHURCH 2140 Greenfield Ave. Noblesville, IN 46060 (317) 764-2156 legacybiblechurchindiana.org

LEGACY BIBLE CHURCH CELEBRATES FIVE-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, LOOKS FORWARD TO NEW FACILITY On Sunday morning, March 1, 2015, six inches of snow covered the ground in Indianapolis. Many churches were closed due to the weather. But 52 people braved the snow that cold morning to form a new church community in Hamilton County: Legacy Bible Church.

Dr. Kunda is committed to in-depth biblical preaching that emphasizes the essentials of the Christian faith, while recognizing that all who know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord are brothers and sisters in Christ, regardless of their church affiliation. He is a firm believer that great music, active congregational participation and excellence in preaching scripture are all vital components of Christian worship. Legacy Bible Church celebrated its five-year anniversary on March 1, 2020. Now in its sixth year, the church sees residents travel from five Indiana counties to worship on Sunday mornings.

In the fall of 2018, Legacy Bible Church purchased 17 acres of land at 13490 Howe Road in Fishers. In May 2020, groundbreaking will be held to build a new, permanent worship facility, which will attach to the house already on the land. The house will be converted to office and education space. A special weekend of celebration is planned for May 1-2, 2021, when the new church building is scheduled to open. “The construction of our new facility represents the growing desire for Christians to not only share their faith, but also to enhance their worship experience” Dr. Kunda says. “The facilities will allow more classrooms for Sunday school for all ages and will also offer a larger sanctuary to accommodate our growing congregation.” One of Legacy Bible Church’s tenants is to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with their neighbors, city, state, country and around

the world. Since its inception, Legacy has supported local charities like Wheeler Mission. In 2019, the church formalized its missions efforts with the creation of the Global Outreach (GO) Committee, which directs activities and funding for missions activities. Legacy Bible Church supports ministry in five states and nine countries. Last year, a group of Legacy members spent a day in Elkhart, Indiana, assembling shortwave radios for people to hear the gospel in Liberia, Africa. Legacy will sponsor its first international missions effort this summer. A group of Legacy members, through Reach to Romania, will spend 14 days in Hateg and other towns and villages, assisting in a Christian summer camp and various activities for foster children and orphans.

“After my first visit, I knew this was where I belonged,” Tolen says. “The service enhances my worship, and the people are very friendly.” Dr. Kunda adds, We encourage any and all to come and share our worship experience at our current location on Greenfield Avenue, and to grow with us as we prepare to move to our new space on Howe Road.” For more information, visit Legacy Bible Church online at legacybiblechurchindiana. org or give them a call at 317-764-2156.

Church member Elaine Tolen says she started attending after hearing about the biblically sound preaching and the traditional music.

Matt Mitchell has been with the Noblesville Fire Department for quite a while - more than 28 years in fact.

NOBLESVILLE FIRE CHIEF MATT MITCHELL Originally from Kokomo, Mitchell earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marian University, where he also played basketball. While he was finishing up school, Mitchell’s mother moved to Noblesville, where he eventually relocated after graduating.

time, and they were advertising for the Noblesville Fire Department,” Mitchell says. “My mom filled out the application and sent it in. She then called me and said, ‘By the way, you need to be in Noblesville at the fire station on this particular day.’ That’s how it started.”

“I suspect I probably went through Noblesville at some point in my life to play basketball, but I really didn’t have much knowledge at all about the city,” Mitchell says.

When Mitchell first started with the Noblesville Fire Department, things were quite different than they are now.

(317) 399-9069 | HELLOKAHLO.COM In that timespan, Mitchell has worked in a multitude of positions, from firefighter to fire marshal. As such, he’s more than equipped for his current job as fire chief.

00 PLEASANT STREET | NOBLESVILLE, IN 46060 Having served as fire chief for the Noblesville Fire Department since January 1 of this year, Mitchell has put in decades of hard work, courageously keeping the Noblesville community safe. Formerly the assistant fire chief under Greg Wyant, Mitchell overseas a staff of about 140 administrators and shift personnel, while handling a budget of over $20 million.

Upon graduating from college in 1991, Mitchell had a tough time finding a job in his chosen field. On a whim, his mother connected him with the Noblesville Fire Department, and the rest was history. “My mom got a hold of the paper at the 2020 DIRECTORY AND RELOCATION GUIDE / 43

“Back in the early ’90s when I started, we were still in the fire station across the street from where the Public Safety Building is now,” he says. “It was a situation where we didn’t have a lot of people. When we had any type of fire, the whole department got called in to handle that, including guys that were both off duty and on duty. Times have really changed.”

Mitchell says the Noblesville Fire Department truly transformed when Ken Gilliam served as fire chief. “Chief Gilliam came in and made sweeping changes in the Noblesville fire service, primarily taking over the EMS service,” Mitchell says. “That’s probably the biggest change that I lived through.” Ultimately, he’s seen the Noblesville Fire Department grow hand in hand with the city it serves. “We had three stations,” Mitchell says. “Now, we have seven stations and make thousands more runs than we did back then.”

had aspirations to go to the next step,” he says. “But when those spots became available, the positions did at least have an opportunity to do something new. So I just leveraged that and moved up.” As fire chief, Mitchell has a full plate of responsibilities. Some of these include budget creation, human resource management, strategic planning and overall fire department oversight. Mitchell also sets and models the mission and vision of the Noblesville Fire Department, making sure each new staff member he hires on is in alignment with the department’s mission.

“The hiring process is dictated by our Fire Department Merit Commission, so it’s very structured,” Mitchell says. “We currently Over the years Mitchell has moved up the department’s chain of command organically, have a joint hiring process with what we call the big four departments in the county, humbly serving the city on his way to and those are the Fishers, Carmel, Westfield becoming fire chief. and Noblesville fire departments. Having lived in the area for some time now, there’s no place else they’d rather be. “We love the Hamilton Heights school system,” Mitchell says. “It’s just a great area to raise a family and to live, work and play.” For more information on the Noblesville Fire Department, visit cityofnoblesville.org.

Paul Shoopman, president of Paul Shoopman Home Building Group, Inc., was a freshman in high school when he started his career in the home building business as a framing crew member. After gaining experience in the industry all through high school, shortly after graduation he built his first custom ranch home in Center Grove. “The house and its one-acre lot sold quickly for a whopping $34,500,” Shoopman says. Since then, Shoopman, who acts as builder, developer and designer for each project, has gone on to become a leading homebuilder in Central Indiana, and over the past five decades has constructed nearly 10,000 new homes in Zionsville, Westfield, Noblesville, Fishers, Greenwood, Brownsburg, Avon, Greenfield, Indianapolis, Danville, Carmel, and many offsite projects including the new Waterfront of West Clay. “I’ve also personally gone on nearly two million onsite construction site visits for satisfied families with the same love and attention I had as a young man,” Shoopman adds. “I’ve always loved the smell of wood. I still do today.”

Throughout his career, Shoopman has held true to the same guiding principles — to prioritize & value his employees and partners and to be loyal to those around him. That’s partly why last year his company was awarded the Better Business Bureau’s (BBB’s) Business of Integrity Award, which recognizes a business with fewer than 11 employees and displays an outstanding level of ethics and integrity in all business dealings.

the state to have earned 2-10’s Diamond Builder Award for superior craftsmanship and customer service. He attributes his success to the loyal and solid relationships he has created along the way — not only with clients but also with vendors and contractors he works with regularly.

“I have been with valued partners for as long as I have been in business,” he says. “In fact, I can’t think of any other builder who has the kind of support and long-standing “We are thrilled to have been named the BBB’s relationships I have with many employees, subcontractors and suppliers.” Business of Integrity winner,” Shoopman says. “From the start, we have aimed to hold For more information on Paul Shoopman ourselves to the highest standards in home Home Building Group, located at 11685 quality, customer satisfaction, and, above all, West Rd. in Carmel, call 833-525-3466, integrity & fairness.” email paul@shoopmanhomes.com, or visit them online at waterfrontofwestclay.com.
