Cervical plates, pedicle screws, porous titanium interbody implants. These terms aren’t typical dinner conversations in most households, but at Nexxt Spine, LLC they’re the products that demand the most of the company’s time.

in a matter of days, compared to the industry standards of weeks to months.” While Nexxt Spine is a smaller company compared to its competitors in the spine industry, they have the ability to “provide one-stop-shop relative to engineering, manufacturing and customer service all being under one roof.”

As a medical device company that designs, engineers and manufactures spinal implants and instruments, Nexxt Spine works to develop their products from “concept to commercialization” by housing all of their individual departments — engineers, manufacturers and customer services representatives —“all under one roof ” as Engineering Manager Alaedeen Abumulaweh says.

A 2012 development agreement with the City of Noblesville provided incentives for the company to remain in Noblesville and develop its business here. A year later, the company signed the Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) tax credit.

“We don’t want to outsource,” he says.

Founded in 2009 by President Andy Elsbury, Nexxt Spine has grown its production over the past nine years. The company first began by producing the industry staple: the pedicle screws.

Nexxt Spine strongly believes in the efficiency of their comprehensive internal organization. “Onsite manufacturing capabilities allow Nexxt Spine to accelerate new product development from concept to commercialization in a fraction of the time by eliminating dependence on outside vendors,” says Customer Service Manager Ashley Ray. “Prototypes of implants and instruments are designed and manufactured

“Both programs assisted our continued growth in serving customers across the United States,” Ray says.

“The pedicle screws are the bread and butter, so to speak, of the industry,” Abumulaweh says. “We developed those products first and then went from that foundation to innovation.” The company creates products from the bread and butter pedicle screws to the

cutting-edge, 3D-printed porous titanium interbody implants in the same way: with the people who will use their products. “The first step is assembling a surgeon design team,” Abumulaweh says. The surgeons specialize in specific sections of the vertebrae, providing comprehensive feedback to the engineers and manufacturers at Nexxt Spine. “We’ll ask them for points of concern about current technology,” he says. Nexxt Spine will use the concerns of these medical experts to engineer and manufacture products that will meet the needs and wants of the surgeons. After all, starting with the surgeons who best know their patients’ needs is practical. It’s just one of the ways Nexxt Spine works to meet their mission of increasing procedural efficiency and patient outcomes to treat spinal pathologies. Nexxt Spine is located at 14425 Bergen Boulevard, Noblesville and online at nexxtspine.com. The Noblesville Chamber of Commerce Spotlight showcases the action and work taking place behind the scenes of local businesses.

RAISING THE ROOF Ninth Annual Habitat for Humanity Ag Build Coming to Indiana State Fair Writer / Suzanne Huntzinger Photography Provided

The manpower and the hours it takes to build a home is overwhelming. Now imagine the manpower and hours it will take to build not one but two homes in 14 days. But if anyone can make it happen, Habitat for Humanity Indy can do it, and they will at the 2018 Indiana State Fair, August 3 through August 17. For more than 30 years now, Habitat for Humanity Indy has been making homeownership dreams come true for deserving Indianapolis families through volunteer and donation services. In 2018, Greater Indy Habitat will build 27 homes in an average of eight to 10 weeks each, bringing the grand total to just over 600 families served in its history.

off the incredible stunt of finishing two houses in 14 days. The two 2018 homes are the 12th and 13th Ag Build homes since 2010. Ag build makes Habitat Indy the only chapter in the nation to pull off an entire build in just two weeks, let alone two at once, outpacing another affiliate in Oregon, which completes a partial build of one home. More than 800 volunteers and plenty of quality check support systems will be needed to pull off this herculean effort. The deserving families who will become homeowners will also put in their own effort before they earn the keys to their homes. “When the families apply, they have to commit to more than 300 hours of sweat equity to qualify,” says Abri Hochstetler, Associate Director of Communications & Annual Giving.

Just nine years ago, Habitat Indy made the commitment to build a home in fourteen days during the Indiana State Fair. It’s enough to complete one home in 14 days, The sweat equity includes participating but since 2015, the organization has pulled in the construction of their home and

volunteering in the construction of another home, attending an entire semester of home ownership classes, learning how to complete routine home maintenance tasks (like changing the furnace filter and patching the dryer vent) and complete the Dave Ramsey financial education course. “These homeowners don’t just walk away with a free house,” Hochstetler says. “These are folks who wouldn’t qualify for a traditional mortgage, so we make it affordable and interest free, but they pay for it. We want to make sure each homeowner is as successful as they can be once they close on their home, so we pair the new owners with a homeowner mentor.” During the build, the soon to be homeowners get to customize their new homes by putting their personal touches on them. “They get to choose the interior and exterior colors, door color and other aesthetic finishes,” Hochstetler says. “After they close on the house, they can decorate it as they

wish.” Both homes will be 1,200 square feet, three-bedroom, one bath homes. An artist group is making paintings and a wreath to donate to the homeowners. At the end of the 14 days, Habitat will hold a closing ceremony to dedicate the completion of the construction. At that time, a truck removes each home from its steel beams and moves it from the build site on the northside of the fairgrounds by the big tent to its final location in a neighborhood close by on the near northside. “Watching this truck move this massive load is truly a sight to behold,” Hochstetler says.” When the homes arrive at their final destinations, plumbing and electrical are hooked up. The actual closing to finalize the mortgage happens in the fall, and the new homeowners receive their keys. Fair goers can see the homes being

“The build goes on, rain or shine,” Hochstetler says, “Thanks to typical Indiana August weather, we can count on rain, heat and humidity. Everyone works through it all, but it’s all worth it. These are people who need a little leg up, and we can make it happen. Last year, Greater Indy Habitat completed an impact study, and we found that homeownership leads to higher education, kids doing well in school and all-around improvement of quality of life. We’re grateful that these homeowners can experience that positive impact.” This year, Ag Build is participating in the State Fair’s Wonder Trail hunt for kids. Kids visit various booths along the trail to identify things that are agricultural. Kids can visit the Ag Build and discover things that are agricultural in the homes.

“Doing the Ag Build is a great way to connect with kids,” Hochstetler says. “It’s also a great way for Habitat’s 53 affiliates in Indiana to learn and promote Habitat’s efforts across the state.” Even though the 2018 Ag Build isn’t Indy Habitat for Humanity’s first rodeo, they need your help. Sponsors Davis Homes, Rooftop Representatives, Wells Fargo, Corteva Agriscience (formerly Dow) and Kroger will offer opportunities for their staff to volunteer at the build. But plenty of other spots remain. Contact Ted Mosey at 317-7776091 for volunteer opportunities. Visit indyhabitat.org to learn more about the build or to donate.

Your Mom’s Local Restaurant Offers New Menu With Award-Winning Foods, Gourmet Coffee & More Writer / Matt Keating Photographer / Amy Payne

Michael Spencer, owner of Your Mom’s Gourmet Cafe & Bar, 151 S. Harbour Drive, Noblesville, claims the moniker for his uniquely named restaurant comes from an unusual source. “I’d love to have a heartwarming answer for this regarding my actual mother, whom I love dearly, but it was actually a running joke with my friends,” Spencer says. “No

matter what the conversation was about they would always find a way to insert a ‘Your Mom’ joke. One night we were out, and I told them that one day I was going to open up a place, and call it ‘Your Mom’s.’ Twenty-some years later, I finally opened that establishment.” Spencer had a soft opening first and then opened his doors on Feb. 19. “We haven’t done our ‘official’ grand opening as of yet, as we have been waiting

for the new Shell Gas Station nearby to be built and finished,” Spencer says. The Noblesville community has already given Spencer a warm welcome. “We have had some terrific support from the neighboring communities and residents,” Spencer says. “I’m a Noblesville alum, Class of 94’. I grew up around this side of town and in these neighborhoods. My wife and I, along with our son, live in the area and love the location. We got tired of seeing this

particular location looking run down and empty. I’ve always wanted to open a place like this and figured now was a better time than any other.” Spencer is thrilled that customers already have their favorite items on Your Mom’s menu. “I would say our Breaded Tenderloin is by far the favorite item we have,” Spencer says. “We do not use grease, and use air-frying, giving the sandwich an exceptional grease-free taste. Our other customer favorites would be our Chicago Dog, Air-Fried Mozzarella Pepperoni Sticks and Avocado Fries!” Other sandwiches include Italian Beef, Pastrami and Pulled Pork. Soups include Your Mom’s Bay Shore-Lobster Bisque, Bay Shore-Shrimp & Roasted Corn, Tomato Basil, Smoked Sausage and Grandma’s Matzo Ball. A nice selection of healthy salads is also available. Deserts include Bourbon Caramel Pecan Cheesecake, the Decadent Cake, which has three layers of chocolate Genoese cake layered with dark chocolate mousse, Peanut Butter Cheesecake and Tiramisu, among others. Your Mom’s also has a kid’s menu and a breakfast menu. Spencer has a lot of family in Noblesville or in the nearby area. Besides his wife and son, a first grader, he says, “My mother lives in the Lapel/Anderson area. My three younger brothers, who are also Noblesville High School graduates, all live in the area, except for one brother, who is a Marine serving our country and is currently stationed in Japan.” Spencer has already implemented new changes to the restaurant to keep things fresh. “We are transitioning our establishment into something like nothing else around us,” Spencer says. “We want to be known more as an authentic food boutique, rather than a so-called ‘Mom & Pop’ restaurant. We are working with other food establishments across the United States to bring awardwinning foods under one roof right here in Noblesville.”

On July 2, Your Mom’s developed a brand new menu.

ClosER, fastER care is here.

“Some of the (new) award-winning items include a Lobster Mac ‘n’ Cheese (which won in a Bobby Flay Competition), Lobster Bisque from Maine, Crab Cakes from Maine, New England Clam Chowder from Boston, a Muffuletta sandwich from New Orleans and a Cuban sandwich from Florida,” Spencer says. Other new items include BBQ sauces from South Carolina, Tennessee, Kansas City and Texas. “We also have new Gourmet Chips from St. Louis and Beef & Weck from Buffalo,” Spencer says. “We are also open for breakfast, serving gourmet coffee and gourmet breakfast sandwiches served on a fresh, authentic French croissant. We will also be selling the One and Only Dole Whip Soft Serve. This is the well-known ice cream served at Disney World and State Fairs!”

Ninety percent of her clients are animal lovers who sometimes even adopt an animal from Redemption. Redemption accepts animals only from Indiana shelters, not from owners. The process of “pulling” a dog or cat from a shelter varies depending on each situation. • Behavioral Issues: Animals with behavioral issues go into a foster home with a person who is skilled in behavioral retraining. The trainer works to rebuild the animal’s confidence while determining underlying behavioral triggers. After a successful retraining, the animal is ready to be adopted. • Sick or injured animals: Ryan searches for a veterinarian willing to work with her based on the needs of the animal. She must determine the cost of the care. For example, a puppy who has Parvo (which can be prevented by a $12 vaccine) will rack up $4,000 in treatment. After the medical care is completed, the animal is placed in foster care until it is healed and ready for adoption. Depending upon circumstances, a dog or cat can be in foster care anywhere from two weeks to several months.

How You Can Help Redemption Rescue • Foster care. By far, the biggest need is for people to foster animals. Redemption pays all the costs of the animal during this time and provides for the needs. They will also work with the foster family on any scheduling issues/vacations to make it as easy as possible. • Adoption. Provide a dog or cat with a forever home. • Volunteers. Volunteers are needed for everything from driving animals to doctor appointments to writing thank you notes to making pet gift baskets. Families of the Boy Scouts of America have been asking for years to welcome daughters into the program that they have seen change their son’s lives.

This fall, families can now sign up their sons and daughters for Cub Scouting In October of 2017, the Boy Scouts of America Board of Directors unanimously approved to welcome girls into its iconic Cub Scout program and to deliver a Scouting program for older girls that will enable them to advance and earn the highest rank of Eagle Scout. The historic decision comes after years of receiving requests from families that they want to participate together. The BSA evaluated the results of numerous research efforts, gaining input from current members and leaders, as well as parents and girls who’ve never been involved in Scouting. This research confirmed that the curriculum is applicable to both girls and boys, and offers families an additional choice in meeting the character development needs of all their children. Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts of America have created a unique model that builds on the benefits of single gender programs while providing the same character and leadership opportunities for both boys and girls. Cub Scout dens will be single gender, all boys or all girls, not co-ed.

NOW IS THE

TIME!

Using the same respected Scouting curriculum, all youth will be able to earn the belt loops, merit badges, and even Eagle Scout rank. This unique approach allows the organization to maintain the integrity of the single-gender model while also meeting the needs of today’s busy families, with all of the same character building, outdoor activities and service Scouts are known for in the community! Our mission is still the same—to prepare every young person to become a strong, brave, loyal, kind and responsible citizen. The values of the Scout Law – trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent – are relevant and important for every boy and girl.

For more information about Cub Scouting or to register, visit

Cub Scouting in single gender dens is now available for boys and girls Starting in 2019, girls will be able to earn the same merit badges as boys have for over 100 years, even Eagle Scout rank

NOBLESVILLE NATIVE, JASON SHADOAN, BEAT HIS ADDICTION & NOW HELPS OTHERS Writer / Julie Young Photographer / Amy Payne

Jason Shadoan says he and author JK Rowling have something in common: Rock bottom is the solid foundation upon which both have rebuilt their lives. “She said she was at rock bottom when she wrote Harry Potter, and I hope to use my own rock bottom to turn my life around and make a difference in the lives of others,” Shadoan says. The Noblesville native said he began dabbling in drugs and alcohol at the age of 13 and what began as a recreational activity among friends quickly escalated into an allconsuming addiction. Still, he managed to think of himself as a “functional” until his father’s death led him to try heroin for the first time. “That’s when everything spiraled out of control,” he says. Within two years, he began amassing felony charges. He lost his car and his job and in

July 2016, he was staring down an eightyear prison sentence. However, Judge Gail Bardach refused to incarcerate him without giving him a chance at a new lease on life. She admitted him to the Hamilton County Drug Court instead. On May 7, after 22 months, Shadoan graduated from the program. He was 733 days sober. “My life should never have gotten to that point,” he says. “The thing is though, there is a serious heroin epidemic in Hamilton County and there are not enough resources to combat it.” Shadoan says heroin does not discriminate between a kid from the wrong side of the tracks and someone with the financial means to hide their habit a little longer, but in most cases, they end up in the same place – a prison cell where they are expected to detox without support and accountability. While the Hamilton County Drug Court gives participants the opportunity to achieve long-term sobriety while enhancing their life skills, Shadoan feels there is more to be done.

In an effort to combat what he feels is a growing problem of heroin abuse in Hamilton County and the surrounding communities, Shadoan and his sponsor have begun hosting Heroin Anonymous (HA) meetings in Noblesville three nights a week. The original meeting was held on Friday evenings, but when Shadoan graduated from the drug court he helped expand the offerings to include meetings on Sunday and Wednesday evenings as well. The meetings have been well-attended and Shadoan estimates that he has roughly 42 participants. “The one at the First Christian Church on Wednesday nights is neat because the pastor and his wife are really interested in getting involved in the community and finding what needs to be done,” Shadoan says. “The pastor’s wife feeds attendees before the meetings and then sits in on them so that they can learn how best to serve and support those who are trying to turn their lives around.” Although he believes only those who truly want to make a change will be able to do so, Shadoan wants to make sure there are more options for them than a jail cell. “I don’t have the money to make it happen, but I’m doing my part,” he says. “Still, I know that our community can do something more than it is doing to fight this epidemic.” For information about HA meetings in Noblesville, visit heroinanonymous.org

KOTO JAPANESE STEAK HOUSE OPENS NEW NOBLESVILLE LOCATION AT HAMILTON TOWN CENTER Writer / Suzanne Huntzinger Photographer / Amy Payne

Hamilton Town Center is getting even more delicious. Koto Japanese Steak House opened in August, bringing mouthwatering Asian flavors to the trendy shopping and dining center. Koto Japanese Steak House Noblesville is the restaurant’s second Indy area location. The Carmel restaurant, which is off 146th street just south of Lowe’s Home Improvement, opened about three years ago. But owners Ren Yang and Harry Dong wanted to give Noblesville and Fishers a taste to keep them coming back for more. The partners chose Indiana after doing research and learning how Indianapolis got high marks for being a great place to raise a family with affordable housing, great schools and good healthcare. Both Indy locations appealed to them since they’re in high traffic areas in trendy shopping centers near popular neighborhoods.

“Indy is a perfect location for a restaurant for guests to come and be a part of a family atmosphere,” Yang says.

different experience than getting your food from the kitchen. Plus, you can’t beat the entertainment that comes along with it.”

Ren and Harry met each other in Richmond, Kentucky, the chain’s first location. Harry brought with him 20 years in the restaurant business and Ren almost 20 years. They’d each done just about every job in a restaurant from server to busing, cooking, tending bar and managing. The two decided they could join forces and become successful restauranteurs. So, they opened the Richmond, Kentucky location, one in Johnson City, Tennessee and now the two in Indiana.

Hibachi cooking is a huge hit, especially for kids with the chef ’s spatula stomping, knife-wielding tricks. But Koto offers a whole range of reasons for diners to choose the restaurant. First on tap is the extensive menu which offers a variety of choices from their sushi and sashimi bar like their Eel Avocado Roll and Spicy Salmon Roll. Choose from tempting soups and salads like Seafood Miso soup or Gyoza soup (a vegetable-based soup with pillowy dumplings) and Spicy Squid Salad or Salmon and Avocado Salad. In addition to the Hibachi favorites, teriyaki and tempura entrées are available from the kitchen. Both locations offer popular favorites and chef ’s special rolls the Koto Special and Angry Dragon Roll. Ren recommends any hibachi meal, but if you’re going for a teriyaki dish, he highly recommends the Teriyaki Sizzling Plate.

The new Koto offers the same excellent dining experience as the others. Japanese Hibachi style dining around a grill table is a main, popular feature. “There is nothing like having high-quality food fresh from the grill at the perfect temperature,” Yang says. “It’s a completely

Any dining experience would not be complete without a full cocktail menu. Koto offers favorites like the Bomb Pop Martini, the Koto Kolada and the Saboo Shandy. Creating a family atmosphere in the restaurant is a priority, and both Indy locations offer that. Carmel’s restaurant offers a hibachi patio area with outdoor seating for guests to enjoy their meal while enjoying the fresh air. The Noblesville restaurant offers a hibachi party room with seating for up to 40 guests for your special occasion. Since Noblesville is Koto’s fourth location, the partners put a lot of thought and planning into the new restaurant. “We’ve learned a lot from the other locations. So we chose top of the line equipment, we’ve trained staff to give top-notch service, and we’ve decorated with bright, snappy designs with an ocean theme,” Yang says. Yang and Dong hope customers will notice those features, but they can count on customers noticing a major focal point in the restaurant. “We put in a massive fish tank all along the wall,” Yang says. “No one else has it. It’s unique and it’s filled with colorful tropical fish.” If you’re not hungry yet, you will be soon. Koto Noblesville will be offering plenty of specials like Wednesday Sushi Special night, drink specials, and they’re hoping to have live entertainment events. For a limited time, Koto is having a gift card promotion. Customers can buy a $100 gift card and receive a $10 bonus, a $200 gift card for a $30 bonus, a $300 gift card for a $50 bonus and a $500 gift card earns you a $100 bonus. Look for grand opening event announcements on their webpage, kotonoblesville.com, and visit their Facebook page for the latest updates. Koto Japanese Steak House Noblesville is located at 13398 Tegler Drive.

Holly France is the owner of Psalm 51 House

LONG-TIME NURSE BUILDS HOSPICE HOUSE IN NOBLESVILLE

Writer / Christy Heitger-Ewing Photographer / Amy Payne

On April 15, 1998, Holly France’s mother entered hospice care and passed away fewer than 24 hours later. Though the experience was a whirlwind, France still has fond, peaceful memories of that day because the hospice nurse took gentle care of both France’s mother and the loved ones surrounding her. The experience sparked a desire in France to one day become a hospice nurse herself.

France’s husband, Tim, flips houses. Typically, he does his thing and she does hers, and their careers never collide. Last year, however, Tim bought a house in Noblesville — one that he took down to the studs following a fire. One day he asked his wife for her input on the floor plan. She offered it, and a few months later he suggested she turn the renovated structure into her hospice house.

“I was stunned because the house hadn’t been on my radar for years, but this seemed like the right time,” says France, who named “I was a young nurse at the time, fresh into it the Psalm 51 House after France’s favorite my career and I recognized that I couldn’t be Bible passage. any good in hospice until I had experienced life — gotten further in my career, become a It can accommodate up to three patients mom and grown in my faith,” France says. and will be staffed 24/7 so that patients’

needs will be met round the clock. Though France, who is considered the “house manager” will be the primary caregiver, she has several people who have offered to help, all who work in the healthcare field. The house is located adjacent to France’s home, making logistics easier since she has a 15-year old daughter. “This way I can still be a mom but also have quick access to the hospice house,” she says. France has been a nurse for 22 years, having spent 17 of them at Riverview Hospital, mostly in the recovery room and pre-op area. She transitioned to home/hospice care a year and a half ago. During that time, she often saw patients in assisted or

independent living who had no support because all of their children lived out of town. As a result, they had nobody to care for them. “Hospice is sometimes a ‘right now’ situation,” France says. “People will get a terminal diagnosis and need to figure out pretty fast what they’re going to do.” That’s why France is thrilled to be opening Psalm 51 House. She sees it — and hospice, in general — as a ministry. When

she first started working in hospice/home care, she kept getting called out to the same home. One day the patient’s weary wife asked France, “How much longer can this go on?” “I thought, ‘God, am I supposed to be doing something here?’” recalls France. “It was my door opening to ask her about their faith. Though the woman was a believer, her husband was not. “I told her that maybe this was a good time

to talk to him about accepting Christ,” France says. “I could tell she was very uneasy with that.” A few weeks later, France returned to the man’s home. This time he was unconscious. France’s voice quivered as she asked the man, “Do you know that Christ is your Lord and Savior?” As the words fell from her lips, the man’s daughter entered the room and shared with France that her dad had accepted Christ into his heart three days prior.

“It was confirmation that the Lord was taking care of things,” says France, who has since had other opportunities to bring people to God, including a 96-year-old man. The most gratifying part of being a hospice care worker, according to France, is being able to alleviate families’ fears. “Sometimes I might be there for several hours just educating families about medications,” she says. “Other times I’m telling them about the stages of death and explaining all of the different things that could happen. When I walk out of that home, the patient is peaceful, the family is peaceful. It’s a great feeling.” April 16 marked the 20-year anniversary of when France first felt a calling to pursue this line of work. “The hospice bug bit me two decades ago,” France says. “I’m excited to see this dream through.” For more information, contact Holly France at 317-402-8319.

IT’S NATURAL, BUT IT DOESN’T ALWAYS COME NATURALLY

AUGUST IS NATIONAL BREASTFEEDING MONTH Whether you’re a first-time mom or an experienced mom, breastfeeding can be a different experience for everyone. Research shows that breastfeeding provides many health benefits for mothers and their babies, but it’s not always an easy experience. Kyla Ferrell, registered nurse and internationally board certified lactation consultant at Indiana University Health North Hospital, offers breastfeeding support for new and experienced moms.

tips for breastfeeding success include: • Try to breastfeed within the first hour of the baby’s life. After that, try breastfeeding whenever the baby shows signs of hunger, or at least every three hours. • Avoid using artificial nipples such as pacifiers, and avoid feeding with water or formula, unless it’s advised by the doctor.

• Skin-to-skin contact, starting immediately after birth, can help with breastfeeding, “As your baby learns how to nurse, and as and with stabilization of the baby’s heart you both get into a routine, remember that rate, breathing and body temperature. patience is key,” explains Ferrell. “Some Both mom and dad can hold the baby babies latch right away and others struggle in the beginning. Have patience and skin-to-skin, and doing so releases perseverance when beginning to breastfeed.” hormones that promote relaxation and Ferrell and the lactation consultants at IU bonding. Health North Hospital meet with moms after a baby’s delivery and continue to When asked how moms can prepare, Erin support them during their hospital stay. Her Harkess-Niemiec, childbirth educator and

certified lactation counselor at IU Health North Hospital, says childbirth education classes help give you and your partner a better idea of what to expect. She also encourages moms to find a breastfeeding support group, which provides an opportunity for moms to meet and get support from other breastfeeding moms. Harkess-Niemiec leads a free breastfeeding support group every Thursday at the hospital for moms with newborns and babies up to age one. Breastfeeding has many benefits, and provides excellent nutrition for babies. Breastmilk is a combination of everything babies need to grow, including proteins, vitamins and healthy fats. Babies aren’t the only ones who benefit from breastfeeding moms do, too. Breastfeeding offers a routine that helps mothers bond with their baby, and it also burns extra calories.

“AS YOUR BABY LEARNS HOW TO NURSE, AND AS YOU BOTH GET INTO A ROUTINE, REMEMBER THAT PATIENCE IS KEY.” - KYLA FERRELL, REGISTERED NURSE AND INTERNATIONALLY BOARD CERTIFIED LACTATION CONSULTANT AT IU HEALTH NORTH HOSPITAL
