Dr. Hile started his teaching career as a music educator. After teaching for eight years, he felt compelled to serve students in a different capacity. He went on to serve as an assistant principal, principal and superintendent. Smith-Green Community Schools has about 1,200 students, while Noblesville Schools has 10,500. “There is no way to say it other than it is going to be a change,” Dr. Hile says. “I’ll have more students, staff and parents, but from an education perspective, the focus is still exactly the same. The goal is to give our children the best experience possible, to hire the best teachers and to ensure all of our decisions are focused on what is best for Noblesville children.”

Dr. Hile rose to the top of the list of candidates due to his approachable demeanor, trustworthiness, problem-solving, and communication skills. He also brings extensive experience in community engagement and financial management. He was chosen by members of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents as the District II Superintendent of the Year for 2022. He says he was humbled to be selected by a committee of his “I’mpeers. hoping to continue the practice of being accessible by having open hours with the community,” Dr. Hile says. “We’ll have more information on that soon. When people see me out in the community, I hope they stop and introduce themselves. I want people to see me as approachable and easy to communicate with regarding any issue.”

Dr. Daniel Hile was recently named as the next superintendent of Noblesville Schools. Dr. Hile comes to Noblesville from a long history with Smith-Green Community Schools in Churubusco, IN.
Dr. Hile and his family recently relocated to Noblesville and love the small-town feel it has to offer. His daughter is off to college in the fall, and his son will attend Noblesville High School. He says the district is already working at a high level, thanks to his predecessor Dr. Beth Niedermeyer. “I’m stepping into an outstanding program already,” Dr. Hile says. “As I settle in, I plan to meet everyone, observe and listen. Obviously, I hope to leave my mark on the district, but more than anything, I want to continue growing and building on the success already happening here.”
Dr. Hile graduated from Indiana University with a bachelor’s degree in music education, earned his master’s degree in education administration from Indiana University-Fort Wayne, and his Ph.D. in educational leadership from Purdue University. He hopes to get involved in many community initiatives such as the Noblesville Rotary Club and the Noblesville Chamber of Commerce. He says he immediately felt a connection to the Noblesville community.
“In my times visiting the area, the first thing that became apparent was the close-knit community,” Dr. Hile says. “That was very important to me. Not long after having a baby with her husband Bradley, Samantha Snowden saw something on social media that piqued her interest. It was a child development training center called KidStrong that focuses on brain, physical and character development for kids who range in age from 12 to 14 months to 11 years. It originated in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2015 by Matt and Megin Sharp after they noticed that their 15-month-old daughter Ella seemed to crave challenges when it came to exploring her world. Nothing in the market worked for her so they started building things like rope climbs in their home in order to inspire her. She responded positively and was off and running - literally. At just 2 years old, she was crushing the monkey bars at the playground and jumping boldly, unafraid of trying new things.
Other children naturally gravitated to her, and their parents made a beeline to the

“I loved the idea of being able to bring this to my home state,” says Snowden, who convinced her previous boss, Manuel Torres, to join her in the venture and become her business partner. They signed last July, and KidStrong in Noblesville is set to open this month.
KIDSTRONG OPENS IN NOBLESVILLE
“He never would have known how to introduce himself or had the confidence to greet a peer without KidStrong,” she says.
This summer Snowden and her team will offer a KidStrong camp from July 25 to 29, as well as a two-day camp on August 1 and 2. They’ll offer many more camp options as the location gets established. Next year they’ll have camps all summer long. In addition, she has plans to build up to six more KidStrong centers in the Indianapolis region in the future.
“Our goal is not to make kids great at KidStrong,” she says. “It’s to make kids great at life. The whole reason we exist is to give kids the confidence and leadership skills to be able to go out into the world and be great at whatever they want to do.”

At KidStrong, they have a “no quit” mentality. That doesn’t mean these kids are in boot camp. They are pushed at a comfortable level to complete the milestone work, but they are cheered on even if they don’t hit that milestone.
Snowden stresses that putting time and energy into your children’s extracurricular activities serves to better them in the long run.
“If we can start that mentality of, ‘Hey, there’s an obstacle in front of me and I need to overcome it,’ kids will become stronger and more confident,” Snowden says.
The community response to the center has been tremendous. Those with younger kids are eager to get started, and those with older children lament the fact that such a program didn’t exist when their children were

naturally get a boost in confidence once they achieve a goal or overcome a challenge. For instance, in fitness, many adults tend to feel good when they run a faster mile or lift a heavier weight. The problem is that kids can’t really get involved in organized sports until they’re 5 years old.
Parents certainly agree. Anna Parmley says her 3-year-old son recently went up to another boy in a doctor’s office waiting room, introduced himself, and started playing.
“We can stay after class and work on whatever they are struggling with,” Snowden says. “The sooner you can get them to overcome obstacles and things that are hard, it instills the grit and the confidence that I think generations right now just don’t really Adultshave.”

The steakhouse-style menu also includes sandwiches, salads and sliders, as well as delicious entrees like meatball Manhattan, and fried chicken and dumplings.
At The Fountain Room every item is taken up a notch to elevate one’s palate. The Wagyu burger, for instance, features an eight-ounce patty with pimento cheese, Nueske’s slab bacon, breadand-butter pickles, lettuce, tomato, onion jam and house-cut bacon.

Appetizers include brie brûlée, Swedish meatballs, pimento poppers, tuna ceviche and shrimp cocktail, to name a few. Guests are invited to enjoy mouth-watering desserts including a banana split, sticky date cake and grasshopper pie, as well as after-dinner drinks like espresso martinis.
The Bottleworks Hotel was recently ranked by Tripadvisor as one of the hottest new hotels in the world. The Bottleworks District also has the Garage Food Hall, which features 20 different fast-casual restaurants. Though the existing food selections are delicious, one thing that was decidedly missing from the mix was an option for nice, sit-down dining. That’s where The Fountain Room comes in.

The name was inspired by the building’s space, where Coca-Cola products were made back in the 1930s when the location served as the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Indianapolis, the largest Coca-Cola bottling plant in the world.
“We felt like coming out of the pandemic, there would be this big pent-up demand for an elegant dining experience like this, so we wanted to create a 1920s-style concept,” Fogelsong says. The restaurant seats 160. They also put in a mezzanine level that will seat up to 55, making it ideal for private events like banquets and rehearsal dinners. Since so many couples are opting to tie the knot at the Bottleworks, the mezzanine level will provide a perfect spot for celebrations. They offer catering as well.
The bar menu is equally exciting. Everyday specials include Bourbon and Cola (Woodford Reserve and Coca-Cola), the Cape Codder (Wheatley vodka and cranberry) and the G&T (Fords gin and Q tonic). They also sell beer and wine.
Inspiration for The Fountain Room stems from visions of a retro supper-club vibe. The building, originally constructed in 1920, was designed in an Art Deco style. Local architecture firm PHANOMEN Design followed suit when designing The Fountain Room and selecting all of the finishes.
“Repetitive geometric patterns and timeless millwork details are paired with texture and color combinations that are meant to give visitors a sense of nostalgia for times past,” says Brandi Haney, a designer with Phanomen Design. “Think of a traditional Art Deco dining establishment that also functions as a social club. High class, yet affordable. Formal, yet still relaxed.”
Fogelsong is the director of operations for Clancy’s, owners of the local Grindstone restaurants and Michaelangelo’s Italian Bistro. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and all the turmoil it caused for restaurants everywhere, he’s been pleased that, through the past several years, they have opened one new restaurant per year. He understands how excited people get when new concepts and flavors enter an area. The grand opening is scheduled for July 18, and he and his team are eager to welcome the community with open “Peoplearms.are super excited about this concept in particular,” says Fogelsong, who is proud of his team of employees who always do a great job of making guests feel at home.

They took it a step further by considering seasonality and included a sledding hill, bonfire pits, and pop-up igloos for winter dining. In addition, the clubhouse has two restaurants. Chats on the Hill boasts yummy breakfast offerings such as made-to-order omelets, avocado toast, chorizo breakfast burritos, fresh fruit and granola. “We are frequently asked if everybody who lives here golfs, and the answer is no,” Garfield says. “Only about 40% of our residents on our courses are golf members.” These lots are highly desirable for a number of reasons, not the least of which is the breathtaking view. In addition, many residents love that they can buy a lot for which they don’t have to maintain much of the yard, because it may overlook 10 acres of perfectly manicured grass, wildlife wetlands or Havingwoods.amenities on-site or close by is key in today’s fast-paced world. The developers recognize that people appreciate being able to reclaim precious time in their day by not having to travel far to enjoy such amenities.
“In addition to the new features, we were drawn in by the unique floor plan and the fantastic tree-lined view of the golf course from the backyard,” Erica Porter says. “Of course we were pleased to find the new home opportunity in Chatham Hills as we have built many friendships here, and our kids love the neighborhood.”
It’s not unusual for people to choose to relocate to be closer to grandkids. Garfield has seen a spike in this population, particularly following COVID-19.

Andre and Erica Porter had been considering adding a pool and other features that their kids would enjoy to their existing 2018 Home-A-Rama home. When they reviewed options, however, they decided against adding the features to the existing home, and instead opted to work with Carrington Homes on its 2022 HomeA-Rama home, where the features would be built into their plans.
Moving to a community like this, however, gives them a built-in social scene since this community tends to be socially driven. For instance, people assemble to play tennis, pickleball, swim or attend an event at the Inclub.September, Chatham Hills will host Home-A-Rama for the third time. This year’s event features seven elite homebuilders - Wedgewood Building Company, Old Town Design Group, Sigma Builders, Christopher Scott Homes, Carrington Homes, BBG Construction, and Scott Campbell Custom Homes. These $2 million homes are between 5,500 and 8,200 square feet. Though most are already sold, a couple of lots are still available.
Residents tell her, “You’re too young to have experienced this yet, but when your kids get older you’ll see that it’s harder to make friends when you move somewhere. You don’t have the schools, the soccer teams, the football tailgates and all of that to connect you with other people.”
“It goes back to us thinking about how our residents spend their days,” Garfield says. “We have busy families with kids involved in travel sports, and they love being two minutes from Grand Park and also being able to meet neighbors at the club for lunch. We also have grandparents who bring their grandchildren here to go swimming.”

Henke Development Group has plans to develop a retail commercial village on a 12-acre lake, which will offer opportunities for water recreation such as fishing and kayaking. That’s not been a possibility on the lakes near the golf courses, due to the possibility of errant golf balls.

For years Kelly Goshorn had been eager to transform her 20x16 back porch into a true four-season sunroom by installing quality custom-made windows. Her project required giant windows on all three sides. She didn’t want to see a seam in the middle of a double-hung window, so she requested one-pane glass with crank handles that open vertically rather than horizontally.
She invited several companies to come to her house and provide a quote. Some of them didn’t seem to grasp Goshorn’s vision.
“I like to look out my backyard at the cardinals so I wanted the visibility,” she says.

“I’ve gone to do a front entry door and sat with a customer for 2.5 hours because they wanted to look at every single design option under the sun and that’s completely fine,” Dorrell says. “They may not even buy because they sometimes experience paralysis of analysis.”

For instance, some people’s main concern is energy efficiency while others care more about the design aesthetic. In some cases, clients are looking for an overall improvement in a couple of different areas. Or perhaps they just want something that’s easier to use.
“When you do an insert window, which is what a traditional replacement is, ultimately you’re putting a smaller window with a frame inside of the original window frame,” Bishop says. “While it’s quicker and easier, it also requires a lower level of installation. The end result for the customer is less efficiency as well as loss of glass, sometimes as much as three or four inches. There’s really only a handful of people who can offer that style of installation.”
Dorrell stresses that you don’t have to be ready to jump on a project just because you set up a free consult. It can be a purely informational session in which you talk through the project you’re considering, have the Hometown team inspect your home, identify potential issues and discuss options. The free consultation usually takes between 60 and 90 minutes but could be less or more.

“I have been in the bowling industry since I was 14 years old,” she says. “I started bowling at age 7.”

“Cayden literally had a mini bowling ball in his hand before he could walk,” Russell says. “He started an approach and delivery as soon as he could walk.”
“Cayden had a single-hand delivery to start,” Russell says. “When he was 13 years old, he was playing around at the bowling center with a two-handed delivery like bowler Jason Belmonte, who has made a huge impact on the bowling world. Ronnie saw Cayden bowling with the two-handed delivery and said, ‘Do that again.’ So Cayden did. Ronnie said, ‘You are good at that. Just keep doing that.’ That moment sparked something, and his two-hand style developed.”

The City of Indianapolis looks to be hosting the event in 2023.” Bowling is in Cayden’s blood. Cayden’s dad, Ronnie Russell, is a professional bowler on the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) tour, holding many accolades.
“Ronnie started bowling when he was just 2 years old,” Russell says. “He is an active member of the PBA, and currently ranked 39th in world standings. He has world tour championships, four PBA national titles, 10 PBA Regional Titles, and has been on team USA twice, earning two gold medals, amongst other accomplishments. He had the 24th televised 300, and I think he has had over 20 PBA 300s. He currently is on staff with Radical Bowling, Dexter shoes, Turbo Grips, Stanley Steemer and Melorosa wine.”
His mother, Michelle Russell, says he is looking forward to continually improving through various competitions.
In addition to his part-time position at Pinheads, he will intern at Pinheads during this school year as a mechanic.

Although Cayden was fantastic at baseball, his heart always pulled him back to bowling according to his mom.
Cayden is now a third-generation family member to be involved in the bowling community, on both sides of his family.
“We also own the shop inside All Star Bowl,” Russell says. Cayden, 18, also works for his parents.
Russell, who holds a degree in bowling management, acquired an applied sciences degree from Vincennes University in bowling management and technology.
“Cayden competed in a Junior Gold tournament last year where he placed 16th in the United States,” Michelle Russell says. “This competition sets the standard for youth rankings in the nation. Junior Gold is a nationally recognized event held every year. This year it is in Michigan. Kids from all over the country must qualify and then come together for a week-long competition.

Russell notes that she was a youth bowling coach for several years, and Cayden decided he was excited about the sport and wanted to get better.
“Ronnie and my parents were both league bowlers,” Russell says. “Ronnie grew up in Marion, Indiana, I grew up in Huntingburg, Indiana. We met when I was in college and we both aspired to be in the bowling Caydencommunity.”alsostarted when he was young.
“This event aired on Fox Sports,” Russell says. “We held a viewing party at Pinheads.
Cayden will go to Michigan to compete in Junior Gold. “He was 16th last year out of over 3,160 kids in his age group,” Russell says. “This is what gave him the national rating last year. Junior Gold is the biggest youth bowling competition in the country and is held every year over the course of a week. It is a huge opportunity, with scholarships and college scouting. Winning something like that can change the course of a kid’s future. It’s pretty awesome to witness.”
At the Indiana and Kentucky All-Stars Tournament, Indiana held the title. “Cayden individually won the sportsmanship award, the high series, and his team won the high team series as well,” Russell says.
“He also competed in the Northwest Indiana Junior Tournament Players Association,” she says. Recently the PBA invited Cayden and Ronnie to King of the Lanes: Royal Family Edition, for which pros and their children competed for the title of Royal Family.
In addition to these accomplishments, Cayden has 20 games with a 300 score, several 800 series performances, and he was the 2022 high school all-star champion.
Even though Cayden and Ronnie lost the second match, it was fantastic. Out of 10 shots on TV, Cayden struck nine. He then nine-count spared the other frame. This experience gave him a great insight as to what he could see in his future. It is his aspiration to compete with his dad on tour, hopefully soon.”

“If you are a youth bowler in the state of Indiana, you can compete in the state youth tournament,” Russell says. “From this, we then have the Queens and Masters bowling tournaments. Kids compete from all over the state. If you accomplish the top 16, you are placed on team Indiana.”

Russell says. Since then, Cayden has had many accomplishments. Most recently, he clinched the Indiana Youth Masters title, putting him on the Indiana All-Stars as a team captain.
The Stage Is Set
“OUR TOWN” IN DOWNTOWN NOBLESVILLE

Holbrook believes “Our Town” is a wonderful play to bring to the people of Noblesville.
Holbrook has been thrilled with his work with Poet Ape “PoetProductions.ApeProductions was founded back in February of this year but has been percolating in my head for a while,” Holbrook says. “I dipped my toes into producing back in 2018 with a production called ‘Mercury Hamlet,’ and after that short but successful run, I took some time to collect myself and figure out what’s next. Then the pandemic hit, which gave the ideas more time to percolate.

“Poet Ape Productions is producing our first show this September in Noblesville,” Holbrook says. “We are working in conjunction with two great groups, Nickel Plate Arts and the City of Noblesville, to produce Thornton Wilder’s ‘Our Town,’ in the south alley of downtown Noblesville. I’m a born and bred son of Noblesville.”

“The production entails a simple request to the community and the City of Noblesville - to see your neighbors, community and city with a new sense of curiosity,” Holbrook says. “We hope audience members will, for the first time they are with us, suspend their assumptions of what they think they know, to see with unimpeded eyes what they might not have seen before.”

We hope everyone can join us September 29 to October 8 in the south alley of historic downtown Noblesville.”
Holbrook’s idea for the production came from a walk around downtown Noblesville in 2015.

“The alleyways had just been activated, and I, as I often do when I’m at home, was walking around downtown reminiscing about my hometown,” Holbrook says. “I was walking down the north alley next to old Kirk’s Hardware, and when I reached Kirk’s backdoor I was struck in a way I never had been before. Here was this entrance I had seen numerous times before and never paid much attention to, that was now a living piece of Noblesville history. The modern world was buzzing by in front of the building, and the ghosts of every worker who had ever entered this door just to go to work seemed to be looking back at me. It was this feeling I wanted to capture with our production.”

“I think we achieved being a staple in Noblesville by doing the best we can,” he says. “Effort through the process and caring about the outcome.” He feels flattered and ecstatic by the recognition from his community and peers.
While Noblesville is not Mystic Images Tattoo’s only location, Harber and his team have been especially successful here. He considers Noblesville one of the coolest towns in the United States.
“I was able to get different perspective on tattooing in those other shops,” Harber says.
“We are averaging about 110 tattoos just on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights alone,” Harber says. “I average about four tattoos in a day alone.”
As a Noblesville native, he returned home and created his own business. Named after Mystic Road in Noblesville, Mystic Images Tattoo, Inc. was born. Mystic Images Tattoo was originally opened a 1/2 block away from its current location. Through hard work, dedication and persistence, Harber landed at his current location off of 10th street in 2014.

“I love the people, Noblesville is just a really good community,” Harber says. “I think Noblesville was the best place to have my business. I have a studio in Illinois, and the town doesn’t even compare.”
And the community loves him back. Mystic Images Tattoo has become a staple in the Noblesville community. With a constant flow of clients in and out of the shop, Adam has no idea how many clients the shop has had as a total. Not even a guess. But, he does have an idea on just the amount of people who show up on their busiest nights.
With a tattoo shop of nine artists and three piercers, business never really slows down. In fact, quite the opposite. Harber credits all of his artists for being especially talented and bringing in numerous amounts of regular clients. Harber also praises the community, “We have really great community support, and it keeps us super

The types of tattoos performed at Mystic Images Tattoo varies by artists. Each artist specializes in their own art, style, and personality with their work. Adam mentioned that his favorite work is black and grey realism images, illustrative-style art.
