November
By Tom Britt Tom@atGeist.com This morning started just like every other Wednesday morning, having coffee with Bob Tollini at Mama Bears prior to our weekly atGeist editorial meeting. We get together every week to solve the world’s most pressing issues, but somehow we get sidetracked and end up telling jokes and talking about everything from business to our wives. In the process, I’ve learned a lot about the area’s largest homeowners association President and thought his story, and his contributions, would be of interest to all of our Geist neighbors. Bob was born and raised in New York where he received a BS degree in economics at Cornell University and an MBA in finance and marketing at Columbia University. His first Continued on page 6

Wine Tour Community Day Deemed “Frisky” and “Sassy” Continued from front page and Patty King from Admirals Landing and Bob and Pat Tollini from Admirals Bay were shoe-ins for a good time. Plus, we had our driver from the Cincinnati Reds Day Trip we had on Fathers Day, Hugh Selleck (not to be confused with Tom Selleck, the actor). The risk was mitigated, but not eliminated. As the day wore on, the tastings intensified and our neighbors became good friends. I learned a lot about my neighbors. I learned that Barb Robbins, the unofficial mayor of Admirals Sound, likes fruity, sweet wines (the cherry wine at French Lick hit her buttons, just ask her husband Jim). I learned that Melissa and Rick Rogers of the Moorings probably have the most unusual “how we met” story on record.
I also learned that a two-car garage structure can hold 30 people for a wine tasting and produce excellent wine (Winzerwald Winery was unbelievably good!). With a designated charter bus driver, we had little to worry about all day but coming up with adjectives for what seemed like hundreds of wines we were sampling. Dennis Snider came up with his share of adjectives. Not to be outdone, I came up with “frisky” and “cobbler-esque” while Steve King came up with “sassy” (as he shook his head and flashed his teeth). We tried to solicit help from Heather Simpson from the Java Jar, but there was too much pressure and she politely excused herself from the adjective debate.
day was during our final wine tasting at Huber’s Orchard and Winery when we were sampling one of over 30 wines that they produce. We learned that Bill Berger, accompanied by Kathy Hiatt of Peru (not the country, but the city in Indiana), was celebrating a birthday to which we all sang and toasted one of Huber’s sparkling wines. It was fol-

Ace Discount Liquors & Wine gave away three “wine of the month club” memberships and Geist Jazzercise gave away a free month’s membership, which was won by Chris Mulvoy who quickly handed it to his wife, Maria. ern Indiana wineries. It was certainly a day to remember. Thanks to all of you that joined or supported this great community event. A special thanks to Dennis and Bernadette Snider of Snider’s Landscaping. Because of their generous sponsorship, we were able to make a nice donation to Creating Hope, the beneficiary of the day’s proceeds. I also want to thank the Java Jar, a gracious host for breakfast and the makers of some great coffee.

I’m anxious to do it again, next time we’ll screen the movie before we bring it on the bus.

Meet Your Neighbor: Geist Harbours President Bob Tollini Continued from front page job was with GTE Sylvania in Rochester where he was a controller. But perhaps the most notable life event that happened while he was at GTE was meeting his wife, Pat. “After playing volleyball, I stopped by a local bar and Pat just happened to be there as well,” recalled Tollini. They were later married and have one son, Michael. Pat taught music while Bob continued to climb the corporate ladder, going from GTE to CBS/FOX and on to Video Trends where he was President. “I wanted to get out of finance, been there, done that.” In 1991, Video Trends was purchased by Major Video Concepts and the Tollini family moved to Indianapolis. “We bought one of the first lots in Admirals Bay, there were just trees around us and no houses. place to dock our boat.”
It’s been a valuable lesson. I now know how politicians feel when they are doing a good job but still have 49% of the people not liking them for whatever reason.”
Bob’s career in the video rental industry continued to soar, Pat continued to teach music in the homes of Geist area residents, and Michael graduated from Lawrence Central and went on to Indiana University and Cornell Law School. Life was good for the Tollinis, and in 2000, Bob made a conscious decision.
He’s quick to point out the true heroes of the GHPOA board. “Everybody on the GHPOA board volunteers their time, but the two guys that do more work day in and day out are Steve Hormann, the head of the Development Control Committee, and Dr. John Moore, the head of the Grounds Committee. I pale in comparison to their time commitment to the community.” While Bob is fairly well known in the Geist Harbours circles, “Pat is the most popular Tollini at Geist. She has taught music for so long out here at Geist, they know me as ‘Pat’s husband’.”
“My family came through Ellis Island. I was a kid of modest means given a lot of opportunities and mentors in my life. I thought it was time for me to give back,” said Bob. Already mentoring teenage boys for 10 years through the Big Brother of Central Indiana, Bob looked for other volunteer opportunities, landing him on the GHPOA board of directors. Four years later, Bob is President of GHPOA.
When Bob isn’t consulting for other movie-related businesses or

volunteering, he’s spending time with Pat at the movies or working out at Lifetime Fitness. They also go to New York City eight to10 times a year to visit their son Michael who works for a Wall Street law firm. “We’re looking forward to the holidays when Michael comes home and we have a reunion for his Lawrence Central and Indiana University friends.” Like many successful Geist residents, Bob’s career could easily be his legacy. After all, he was and still is in the center of the movie distribution industry where he is on a first name basis with all the major movie houses. Bob Tollini wants his legacy to be lived through his family, his little brothers, and others he has helped and continues to help along the way. He won’t tell you this; he shows you this through his continued commitment to community service and volunteerism.

New Masthead Sign Proposed, Input Needed By Randy Frisk President, Masthead Property Owners Association New Signs! You may have noticed a lot of sign replacement activity in the last year, such as new street and stop signs throughout all of Geist Harbours and new section identifiers at Beam Reach and Admirals Point. Masthead, too, has been working for some time to replace its large and small identifiers, which are the oldest in Geist Harbours. Over the last three years, your Masthead section representatives have toiled to adopt a sign replacement plan that was within the budget, that produced an attractive and elegant presentation appropriate for Masthead and that the homeowners would like. Our first effort fell flat when the compa-

years experience. (see their site at www.barnsignworks.com). The resulting design will resemble the image shown here, with a “rock-pile” base (smaller than that shown) and a sign hand-crafted by Barn Signworks from long lasting, high-density urethane. The first installation is expected to be made at 96th and Fall Creek once the necessary variances and easements have been obtained.
When the sample granite sign was finally delivered, the Masthead Board was not happy with the result and decided to display it for comment. And comment they did! Dubbed the “tombstone,” it received less than a favorable response. Back to the drawing board, this time to The Barn Signworks, an Indiana professional sign design company with many

Ouch-Are You Ready for Those High Gas Bills? your house will not be kept as warm when no one is there, but will kick on just before the family arrives home, helping reduce energy usage.
By Kandie Dinger We’ve already seen it at the pumps, but what is going to happen this winter when we have to heat our homes? Rising gas prices have us all on edge, and the prediction is that home heating bills may rise as much as 70% this winter. Being prepared to combat high gas prices should be on the minds of us all. When it comes to getting a jump on those huge utility bills this winter, there are a few things you can do.
Second, keep your equipment in tip top shape. A furnace that is dirty will operate less efficiently. Keeping your filters changed regularly and having an annual tune-up will keep your furnace operating at peak efficiency. Third, consider installing a new, high efficient furnace. Some furnaces built up until 1992 are only about 60% efficient. This means that for every $10 you spend to heat

your home, $4 is wasted energy going right out the chimney, and only $6 is actually being used as heat for the home. Today’s high efficient furnaces can have an operating efficiency of 95%, meaning $9.50 out of every $10 is being used to heat your home, giving you the most efficiency possible with today’s technology. Over the period of one winter, a new high efficient furnace can offer you significant energy savings. Many HVAC contractors will even do a free energy analysis on your home, showing you the savings you can expect. Kandie Dinger is co-owner of Action Air, Inc. in Fishers.

What better outing is there on a crisp fall day than to head out to a good old-fashioned pumpkin patch in the country? And you’ll find much more than just pumpkins at Tuttle Orchards.
that abounds with 4,750 trees on 32 acres with 22 different types of apples. The apple cider produced at the orchard is most definitely one-of-a-kind. It is produced from a variety of apples and is sure not to last long in your fridge. Be sure to pick up a gallon or two of this seasonal staple. Apples can still be picked up until the first

Pumpkin picking started in late September and is now in full swing. You’ll find a plethora of pumpkins in all shapes and sizes on the 15-acre patch. The perfect pumpkin awaits you for the carving of your jack-o-lantern this Halloween. The main business at Tuttle Orchards is an apple orchard

Fishers Named “24th Best Place to Live in US” By Kimberly Laughlin Kim@atGeist.com Citing reasons such as low unemployment, taxes, and crime rate, our very own Fishers, Indiana has been rated the “24th Best Place to Live in the United States”. Money Magazine published its findings, which were released after extensive research, weighing aspects such as income, education, environment, housing affordability, taxes and commute times, to name a few. When the narrowing-down process was almost complete, Money Magazine reporters visited the select cities to interview citizens and observe things such as the sense of community and overall atmosphere. The end result placed Fishers near the top of the list, much to the delight of local
officials and residents.
rated the 24th Best Place in the nation to live and how very proud they are of the recognition,” he said. “In almost every case they also believe that Fishers and the community deserve this recognition.” The Fishers website (www.fishers.in.us) has been updated to include information about this nomination, and Huff feels it is important to communicate the significance of the award to all the citizens and members of the Fishers community, allowing everyone to share in this achievement.
“This is quite an honor for the Fishers community,” said Gary Huff, town manager. “We know that Fishers is a wonderful and special place, but to be recognized and honored by such a creditable national award utilizing an independent selection process only enhances the value and importance of this achievement.” Huff said that he was not made aware of the ranking until he was contacted by a local television station curious about the town’s reaction. He researched Money Magazine’s website to find out more details, and the positive feedback began pouring in.
“After all, it is really the entire Fishers community, which includes the Geist area, that’s responsible for achieving this recognition,” he said. “The entire community should be unified in the sharing of this award.”

Wright’s Restaurant and Cocktails: ‘New American’ Dining at its Finest by Lauren Fitzpatrick Lauren@atGeist.com The newly named Wright’s Restaurant and Cocktails has undergone a few changes lately. In May of 2005, Mark Dank began his first foray into restaurant ownership when he purchased what was formerly known as Moda, located at Fall Creek and Brooks School Road. With a new name, new menu and live music by local musicians, Wright’s Restaurant and Cocktails has become a classy, affordable dining option for Geist area residents. Mark spent some years of his childhood around the Geist area. “I was in boy scouts, went to camp over here, went skiing on the reservoir in the 70s,” said Mark. “I remember before this was all developed.” The name change reflects community connections as well as personal ones. “The name Wright’s - that’s my mother’s maiden name,” said Mark. “I went through different names, but that always stuck to me. Also, the Wrights were farmers out here in western Hancock county, back before this was all developed.”
menu. “I like seasonal items, I like to try new things,” said Mark. “So what I did was find out what the customers around here actually do like.” The results? “I am calling it ‘new
American,’ to me, American is a little bit of everything.” Wright’s menu currently offers pizza, pasta, steaks and salads, and Mark is looking to expand upon that. “We want to use better ingredients but still offer the upscale entrees, maybe a little more Asian flair. Eventually I’d like to bring in sushi.” Along with changes in the menu, there is also an emphasis on live, local musicians. “I’m focusing on real musicianship, getting away from DJs or bands,” said Mark. He promotes an atmosphere where the dining experience takes precedence over loud music. “The Blue Cat Trio are local guys, a

three piece jazz trio. They live in the area, and they’re fabulous. People are responding to that better - I am more about the food with background music. The food will bring people in.” All of these adjustments appear to be good moves for Wright’s Restaurant and Cocktails. “Our regular customers, since the change in the kitchen, have been very, very positive. They are coming in more often and raving about it,” said Mark. “It’s a tough business, but I’m pretty confident I’m on the right track.” Come see for yourself Wright’s Restaurant and Cocktails at 10158 Brooks School Road.
After working in business for several years, Mark decided to return to culinary pursuits, something that had always interested him. “I like restaurants. I like people, I like to socialize. I enjoy it, so it was always in the back of my mind as a business I’d like to get into,” said Mark. He focused on creating a solid staff base, from the front-of-house staff to those behind the scenes in the kitchen. “You can’t run a place this size yourself. You need good staff. The kitchen right now is very, very good.” Mark then set out to tweak the atGeist Community Newsletter

Get Outside and Exercise While You Still Can By Ryan Chambers As fall approaches, we settle back into school and work mode. The lazy days of summer sunshine and skiing on the lake are fading into early sunsets and cool evenings. We still have several weeks of enjoyable outdoor weather this year, so let’s make the most of it. The word “fitness” or “exercise” conjures up various responses in people. Some remember their first experience with it in gym class in elementary school, perhaps being the last player picked for dodgeball. For others, it gives them a sense of power or an outlet for emotional energy. Most of us think of that somewhat intimidating feeling looming throughout our local gyms. You know that conversation you have with yourself as you walk across the gym floor to your

equipment of choice, “I hope he’s not looking at my thighs”, “Does everyone think my belly is as big as it feels?”, or “If only those muscle heads could see that I used to look like that too.” Sometimes it’s hard to feel motivated when we’re too busy worrying about what everyone thinks.
Your fitness routine doesn’t have to be routine. Take 30 minutes after work with your spouse and/or kids and walk around the block, down the street and back, or on a trail in one of several local public parks. Surf over to Fishers’ Parks and Recreation website at fishers.in.us/parks or Geist Park and more at co.hamilton.in.us/parks_directory.asp.
Don’t let this stop you from keeping your body in tune. It’s your body, nobody else is going to take care of it for you, and there are no do-overs when it comes to your health. Before the weather forces us to take our physical fitness indoors, let’s enjoy the outdoors. No time? Too tired? No excuses! That pile of papers can wait to be filed on a long November night, on which you’ll fall asleep by half time on Monday night anyway. You’ll wish you had taken
Pick a new spot or route each week to keep it interesting. Invite your neighbors out for a strollafter dinner. Part of the task of keeping our bodies healthy is having fun! Get outside and get moving today! Ryan Chambers is a personal trainer in the Geist, Fishers area .
Update on Ray Remember Ray from the Centralized Kindergarten of Lawrence Township that had the umbilical cord transplant in May? Unfortunately, his leukemia has returned. By Stephanie Drescher Stephanie@atGeist.com What words come to mind when you hear “cancer”? Fear? Loss? Pain? What about Hope? Help? Healing? In a quiet, unassuming shop along 96th street, two women are working to make a diagnosis of cancer less fearful and more hopeful. With over 25 years of experience in the hair salon business between them, Jo Robinson and Michelle Kinney of the 96th Street Hair Salon are assisting clients with high-quality wigs to help take the sting out of hair loss associated with chemotherapy treatment or alopecia.

In addition, she had found that when her clients were fitted for a wig they were often unhappy with the outcome. “It (the wig) didn’t make them feel really good about themselves.” But it’s the response she got from a few of her friends when she fitted them for hair prostheses that launched Jo and Michelle into the business of hair replacement. “It’s such a good feeling, putting it on them and having them actually smile.” The salon itself speaks volumes about the kind of service you Continued on next page

Fall Yard Preparation Tips By Steve Hiner Please forgive the pun, but autumn is an interesting time of year. The kids go back to school, temperatures cool down, leaves begin to turn brilliant colors and, of course, football season kicks off. Fall also has some specific opportunities and obligations for your yard. Some on this list are fun, while others are not. However, the following items are important to consider this autumn season: • Reseeding patchy turf areas is best done in early October. • Aeration is very beneficial to your yard, and it can be done by your local lawn care professional. Aerators can also be rented for those “do it yourselfers”. • Trees and shrubs can be
planted at this time of year with less care required. This is due to the cooler temperatures and increased precipitation. • Bulbs are available at garden centers, and early November through early December is the best time for installation. • Leaf removal is coming soon and should be done as soon as they fall to minimize damage to the turf. Some folks
find it best to remove leaves two or more times during the fall season. • Fall is a great time to cut back dormant perennials. Both (leaf removal and cutting back perennials) are offered as a combined service by most local landscape professionals. • Developmental pruning is
Consider this list. Some of it can be fun for a homeowner to tackle; some of it can be not so fun. All of it will insure the best results for your landscape through the coming spring.

A New Church is Planted in Fishers On November 15th, Crossroads Community Church will be seven years old, but for most of its life the church has been essentially homeless. Although Fall Creek Intermediate School has been gracious enough to host Crossroads Community for Sunday services, the effect for the church was somewhat like sleeping on a friend’s couch. “We had no storage space,” says head Pastor Scott Dean. “We set up every week and tear down every week.” But Pastor Dean isn’t complaining. He saw the extra work as “a labor of love.” Originally on staff at the Christ Community Church in Carmel, Pastor Dean and his family joined together with a few other families, and in 1988 Christ Community Church was born. But with no place to call home the church was forced to
rent office space and maintain a P. O. Box in order to conduct business. “We have an office in Castleton, we meet at the school, and we have a mailing address in Fishers. It’s a little confusing for people,” jokes Pastor Dean.
Certificate to Occupy on the fourteenth of November and then by the twentieth the church will hold its first service. “The twenty-seventh will be our second service and there will be a dedication that evening which will be more for friends and family of the other churches in the city who have partnered with us, and then December fourth will be our community-wide grand opening.” The grand opening will run from noon to 3:00 pm and will feature food, prizes, games and a live broadcast from FM 93.9 radio.
Badly in need of a building, the church purchased fifteen acres of land in 2002 along State Road 238 in Fishers. “We had a vision of being in a growing community; of being in a very family-oriented community. We want to be a safe home.” And what a home it is. Just the first phase of a multiphase construction, the current building includes a large, multi-purpose room with enough seating for 430 people, two nurseries, six classrooms, a kitchen, four offices and a welcoming narthex. The church is hoping to receive their
So a church has been planted, and like a plant, it has grown from just a few devoted people with a dream to something quite grand. And in a growing area like Fishers, Crossroads Community Church will in all likelihood continue to prosper as it serves the Fishers, Noblesville and Geist area. Says Pastor Dean, “We want to make a better community by transforming people’s lives. That’s our vision.” Crossroads Community Church is now located at 14885 Greenfield Avenue (State Road 238) in Fishers.

Ultimate KidZone: Fun for Kids, Easy on Parents By Lauren Fitzpatrick Lauren@atGeist.com You have a list of errands a mile long and a screaming toddler at your feet. It’s been ages since you’ve done something as simple as dinner and a movie on a Friday night. The babysitter is out of town, and no one else is available to watch your child at such short notice. Sound familiar? Well, all of that is about to change. Parents now have an alternative option in childcare available - simply take your children to Ultimate KidZone, a brand new drop-in childcare center that requires no advance notice for hourly care. On July 25th, local moms Tanya Frank and Amy Becker opened Ultimate KidZone, located at 116th and Olio Road, and the response has been overwhelmingly positive. “We needed this option in our own lives, so the idea was born,” said Amy. Whether you have an hour long dentist appointment or are in need of a marathon shopping session, Ultimate KidZone is there to accommodate both your needs and the needs of your child.
Fun and educational activity zones are set up inside the facility, which is staffed with trained caregivers. Children from 18 months through 12 years are welcome. “We found that the more kids we have in at one time, the better. They play all sorts of games with each other,” said Tanya. “We’ve seen children blossom - some kids can’t even go to church without crying, but won’t cry here. One mom gave her kids the option of coming here or going to the Children’s Museum. They chose to come here instead!”
whatever we can to make it easier on you,” Amy said. Future plans include partnerships with neighboring businesses, offering reduced rates for customers. Amy and Tanya are also planning some special promotions for the upcoming holiday season. They currently offer several hourly or weekly packages, with discounts for multiple children. Parents can even purchase healthy snacks or meals from Ultimate KidZone. “This is a safe, secure environment, and there is no guilt for the parents,” said Amy. The women are constantly trying to think of ways to meet any need
Every Friday and Saturday night Amy and Tanya throw a Kid’s Night Out, from 5 to 10 PM. While you are out enjoying dinner, your kids can be having a party of their own, complete with pizza, ice cream and games. Reservations are required for these special nights, though they are not necessary during regular hours. Amy and Tanya also host weekend birthday parties, with plans to offer up to 25 different party themes. “There are five different available slots and three party packages, from basic to ultimate. Geist Orchard Co-Op Finds New Home on Carroll Road You wouldn’t know it was there unless you knew to look for it, but housed within the walls of Christ Presbyterian Church at the corner of 79th and Carroll Roads is the Geist Orchard Coop Preschool. Started in 1971 and incorporated in 1973, Geist Orchard Co-op was originally located within Oaklandon Christian Church. In 1988 the school moved from Oaklandon to the Church of the Nativity on Lantern Road where it remained for sixteen years. Last fall, however, the Church of the Nativity gave the co-op some bad news. “They just needed more space,” says current co-op president Suzanne Richter. That meant that Geist Orchard was going to have to go house hunting. “We kind of panicked.” The search for a new home began but Suzanne admits to some nerves early on. “It’s hard
run by the parents of the students. Of course there are still teachers with classroom agendas to be followed, but the parents are required to volunteer their time inside and out of the classroom. While this might sound like a monumental task given the busy schedule held down by most families today, in reality the number of volunteer hours within the classroom is minimal. “It usually comes out to about once or twice a month at the most,” says Suzanne. And its not just moms volunteering. Dads, Grandpas, and Grandmas are welcome, as well. In addition to helping out in the classroom, each parent is assigned a specific job for the year, such as membership or fundraising. The parents meet once a month in the evening to discuss the business of the preschool. “You get to know the other parents and we really try to help each other out.”
in this day and age to find a church that either doesn’t already have a program that exists or is looking for something from the outside, because a lot of them want to start their own program.” Luckily, Christ Presbyterian was looking for a program. “I met two moms here (at the church) that have both been co-op moms . . . and we started talking and by summer, boom, things were going pretty good.” The details were ironed out and the Co-op had a new home. The concept of the co-op is not a new one. Very popular both on the West Coast and over in Europe, the co-op has a curriculum similar to that of traditional preschools with an emphasis on learning through play and socialization, but there is a difference. The school has no outside director and therefore is essentially

All of this volunteering does have its rewards. Aside from having a direct say in the education of your child, co-ops are often less expensive than traditional preschools since the parent volunteers offset the cost of additional staff members. “I think when you’re a part of it you take a little bit more pride in seeing that things get done,” says Suzanne. As far as getting a sign out front so that prospective families will know the preschool is within Christ Presbyterian, Suzanne assures me that their sign will soon be moved from the Church of the Nativity. Until then, one of the church members has offered to make a temporary sign for the preschool. “The people here are wonderful,” says Suzanne. And Geist Orchard Co-op has a welcoming new home. Fall Creek Bridge Project Expected to Wrap Up by Late Fall by Lauren Fitzpatrick Lauren@atGeist.com Steam slowly pours out of your ears as your patience wanes. Surely you have been sitting at this light for at least an hour. It seems that traffic from every direction except for yours has been given the right of way, as you watch cars stream from Carroll Road onto 96th Street. Mercifully, the light finally turns green, and you continue your journey to the Fall Creek bridge, dodging an obstacle course of construction barriers along the way. As you cross the two-lane bridge, you notice that there is water pooled in the road. Surely the reservoir is not flooding onto this new bridge? Aren’t bridges meant to be over water, not underwater? And when is all of this work going to be done, anyway? Project Manager Tim Bussell clears up a few issues for Geist area residents, including the source of the water on the bridge and the estimated completion date. Although the bridge may have appeared to be underwater, it was actually just a case of a blocked pipe. “All the water that runs off the curb and gutter runs into manholes or catch basins,” explained Tim. “The rain from the gutter system goes into castings in the concrete manholes and there are concrete pipes that run the water to the appropriate source. Unfortunately, there was a break in the pipe. Material was coming into the void in the pipe, creating a block. So when there was really quick, flash flood type of rain, it just backed up big time.” atGeist Community Newsletter
bridge, it needed to be improved. It was almost like, ‘Why hasn’t it fallen in yet?’,” said Tim. “By the time we were taking it down, we were surprised at how bad it was.” Boaters and drivers will be rewarded for their patience with a bridge boasting four lanes of traffic and a single pier, reducing congestion both in the water and on the road. The new pedestrian walkway will also be continued, to connect with existing multi-use paths in the area.
However, residents needn’t worry about any more minifloods on the bridge. “That pipe has since been fixed, and everything flows through there great now,” said Tim. “Since we’ve fixed it, it has rained, and there hasn’t been a problem.” It may not be evident to the public, but progress has been moving along at a steady pace, especially since traffic was transferred over to the new bridge deck in July. “Ever since July 18th, when we switched over, it has been boom, boom, boom, a lot of stuff getting done,” said Tim. “As soon as we switched traffic over, we immediately did night work, removing part of the existing structure. We removed enough of the bridge to give us a clear construction area to build the next portion of the pier.”
“I think the big question is, ‘When are you guys going to get done?’,” said Tim.
•
Standing water on the Fall Creek Parkway bridge was the result of a blocked pipe. “Where we are at now, we are looking at a late fall completion.” Originally expected to finish in July, the completion date has been bumped a few times. “Everyone is doing the best they can. There are different things that have popped up that have caused some delays, but we are smart people out here, so we are figuring out the most efficient way to get through that and keep the building process going.”
