MACHINE XXI Final project - MASTER DEGREE Competition Hybrid Housing Hamburg Location: Hamburg, Germany Year: 2016 The architecture is usually associated with the stability, reliability and statics. In the XXI century the world is moving forward in a surprisingly rapid pace. In the modern world the variability and elusiveness are inextricable factors of everyday life, and a technology embraces the major part of human life. What is more, the architecture has to follow the development, it has to make a step forward to look for new solutions, new typology and new understanding of the space. Buildings of the XXI century, especially in the midtown, have to provide opportunities for creating different kinds of spaces adjusted to various needs. The architecture, which has been solid so far, has acquired the fourth dimension which Is MOVE. The project, inspired by the twentieth century concept of a machine, introduces a unique feature to create space by using futuristic solutions of kinetic service and residential structure. It is located near Spielbudenplatz, the important town square in Hamburg.
PLAYFUL GRID Final project - BACHELOR DEGREE Competition ISOVER Multi-Comfort Housing 2014 Location: Ganziantep, Turkey Year: 2014 Cooperation: Marcin Derej, Adam Mierzwa We are observing radical changes in contemporary education system which direction is designed by changing thinking about schools. This vision of school shows them not only as an institution which transmit knowledge but also an institution which manages knowledge. Consequently, the schools are starting to be the place where two goals must be set. On the one side, it needs to guarantee access to rich, high quality education offer for students, from the other side, it must enable them place to individual, creative searches which will let them find out which kind of education and development they want to choose. It is particularly crucial because of intense growth of young person at this stage of life. The Vision of school in this aspect requires creating proper space. Following this mission, we created project which in its asumptions is parallel to goals about which we have mentioned before. Our project comprises two , coherent parts: creative space on the ground floor and education area on the first floor.
SPIRITUS MOVENS Competition: “Contemporary house in the eyes of young architects” Location: Gdańsk, Poland Year: 2014 Cooperation: Marcin Derej Until World War II Gdańsk had a great, compact urban system. Unfortunately, as a result of hostilities, downtown was largely destroyed. Present shape is a result of reconstruction and rebuilding process. Nevertheless, Gdańsk is being considerd as one of the most valuable units of monuments in Poland. Nowadays, we are observing neglect of city council, which produces defects in the cohesion of the city. By our project we want to initiate a positive move, aimed into revitalization of the city and restoration it’s full vitality. We believe that resident of the city is a part of larger social group and, in order with this fact, while living in a society he has deeper influence in a shape of all arround. Our proposed building has been created for active residents who will contribute to propelling development of the city. They are not just passive users. By assured by them collective services, they are associated with public space that will invite people to interactions. All that moves will pump art life on Klesza street. Form of our building is a synthesis of Gdansk classical tenements, combining modern solutions with historical enviroment. The living space has been fully opened, made on the basis of penetration between living area and night area. Supporting functions (bathrooms, laundry room, dressing rooms) were closed at one solid. This manipulation has organized the space and created ergonomic use.

MUSEUM ON THE TOP Competition ARKXSite Location: Montemor-o-novo, Portugal Year: 2014 Cooperation: Marcin Derej, Adam Mierzwa, Filip Potoczek The main objective of the project is to design a museum that will be visible from any point of the city. The project site is located on the opposite side of the city and also opposite to the main axes of the composition - entrances to the city. Our task was to create a building rising over the tops of the hills. Museum situated on the hillside would not be visible in the silhouette of the city. Moreover, it would remain undiscovered for guests of Montemor-o-Novo. That is why we decided to expose the exhibition area by bringing it above the elevation. Highland terrain is an integral part of the landscape of Portugal. Montemoro is no different. The Montemoro’s hill is the main touristic attraction with the viewpoint being the best spot to admire the city. Thus, the necessity to construct viewing towers, often detached from the urban tissue, emerged naturally. Museum on the top is a combination of the viewpoint and the museum exhibition. The structure was perforated in order to ensure the exposition to the most compelling compositional shots. The staircase is a carefully designed and unique path which meanders inside the tower. It’s track allows and even encourages the visitor to stop and admire the most stunning, carefully selected frames, to finally at it’s end present the visitor the history of the surroundings.

Center'' Location: Kruger Park, RPA Year: 2015 Cooperation: Filip Potoczek
How to imagine a modern animal clinic and tourist wioska afrykańska center in the middle of tradycyjna the African savanna? How to make complex of buildings become a part of nature? Wild, immaculate space requires an individual approach. The main object was to select the exact location where the design process will be optimized. Natural resources - such as water availability, sun access and połączenie connection with the safari route were main konstrukcji low tech z nowoczesnym designem criteria which in conjunction with natural shading from the baobab, are a kind of genius loci for wildlife center. Due to the location of the object - we have been focused on providing the best conditions for the treated animals and creating comfortable workspace for team of veterinarians and space for all of workers. konstrukcje namiotowe - membranowe Adapting to climate conditions was possible through the use of characteristic system of tent structure objects. The whole assumption was confronted with the availability of local building materials and synthetic membranes performing the role of transparent shutters. The entire area generate social areas – the spaces where workers and touristsobecność can exchange experience baobabów between each other. After all the main benefits belongs to the animals.
POLISH POST OFFICE Competition - I PRIZE&REALISATION Location: Wrocław, Poland Year: 2014 Cooperation: Filip Potoczek
In last few decades The Polish Post office went through a lot of radical changes in its operation. It is designed by revolution of thinking about posts not only as an institution which sends lists but also an institution does it open wide gamut of services, adjusted to needs of contemporary, demanding client. Consequently, the post office is becoming a place which needs to face up two goals. On the one side, it must assure access to rich, high quality offer of services, from the other side, it has to focus on the needs of individual client. It is particularly crucial because of fast and intensive life style of present-day society. A client comes in open space of the post office creating in way which makes feelings of proximity and customer-friendly space. It makes clients embrace the post office’s services intuitively. A customer coming in building of post needs to take a number, next heading for a room where can wait comfortably for his turn. This project is a proposition of space which stops being in strict connection with tasks which it should fulfil. Moreover our project is and answer to client’s needs, equally it is becoming not only an institution but also an attractive place.

Competition ''Design a beautiful house'' Location: United Kingdom Year: 2015 How could we define beauty and home? If we talk about architecture, esspecially about a house - nature and family are fundamentals. These two things are the most important aspects in the human life. The basic needs of humansare contact with nature and closeness of the family. That is why house have tofullly respond on this statment. In my project BEAUTY and HOME is equated toNATURE and FAMILY. If we start with our consideration with the word ‘nature’,we have to say, nature is real natural beauty and nothing what is created by human is as beautifulas nature. How could we find real embodiment of this world in architecture?I belive the only way is to subordinate the building to enviroment. In this projectit is realized by giving the possibillity of full contact with greenery. W e are ableto open the living space or the swimming pool and let the nature get in to thehouse. W e almost have our living space in the garden. Secondly, if we look at the aspect of ‘family’ and how we could realized it inthe architecture project, the answer is quite easy, we have to create comfortablespace where members of the family can meet and spent time together, butalso spaces where they can have time for theirselves. In my project, we canclearly notice and separate common and private spaces. It is crucial to createfriendlly spaces where you feel atmosphere of closeness and love. In thecommon parts predominate open spaces, on the other hand in private spaceshouse is more closed. If we look closely on the house, it is divided in two parts- long block withwhite brick on the facade where are placed private spaces and two high solidswith cor-ten facade and pitched roof. At first sight we can distinguish differentspaces in the house. The common space part is made by light steel construction, what gives feeling of freedom, playfulness and relax, in contrast the privatespaces are made by a solid materials, a little bit more heavier, where youcan feel that it is your own ‘stronghold’. The private spaces are divided in threeparts (kid’s bedrooms, master bedroom, and aditional bedrooms for othermembers of family and guest) by solids of common spaces, what makes in thehouse kind of play of open and closed spaces. In the living space are placedstandalone walls, inside this walls we can find slided out ‘doors’ which canclose rooms. thanks to this we have possibility of tremendous flexibility, Thehouse has all the windows pointed on the beautiful landscape with lakes andtrees, esspecialy the big curtain glass wall in the common spaces. The wholehouse is one storey, we can find only two marvelous rooms on the first floor -man cave, and cinema. Under the house is placed internal garage, specialplace to wash dogs and cars, and some services rooms.
GEOMORPHOSIS
Competition 'Young Architects Competition' FINAL STAGE Location: Ganziantep, Turcja Year: 2014 Cooperation: Marcin Derej, Adam Mierzwa By taking into account the ambiguity of the concept of landscape, it's naturalistic importance, as well as aesthetic and perceptual dimensions, the aim of this project was to explore "tha idea of the landscape" and to make it as a specific area of modern architecture. Proposed project aims to recover the characteristic features of the topography, by linking areas of land and water: the beach, cliffs and greenery. The new quality of the landscape was formed by simulating the process of abrasion, which is taking place near Pesaro. This allows the creation of a new landscape code - structures refferring to the falling of sea cliffs, and a standalone object - the island. The core of this composition is a multi-task channel functioning as a stage, harbor and connection between the mainland and sea. The resulting urban system is characterized by a clear division of space by defininf four main areas: sport, spa, science and culture, and assign them the corresponding public spaces.
