Director, Production & Supply Chain Operations
COMPELLING OPPORTUNITY ur CLIENT is seeking a world-class Supply Chain & Production Operations leader to join the management team and be an integral part of the continued success of their aggressive growth plans over the coming years. his position requires someone who thrives on challenge and demonstrates a passion for anticipating and meeting the product supply and production needs of an organization that is competing in a demanding environment.
OSITION eporting directly to the EVP, Operations & Risk Management and with close interface across functions to include Quality, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering Technology, the Director, Production & Supply Chain Operations is a member of the management team and has overall accountability for the production, supply chain, and warehouse operations of the organization to ensure on-time delivery, supply chain continuity, the lowest possible costs, the most appropriate inventory levels, maximum efficiency of people and processes, and the highest safety standards. he successful candidate will create and implement the strategy, systems and processes while developing, mentoring and motivating a team of 5 Direct Reports and a team of 25 members to instill industry best practices across the organization and lead them into the future in all areas of responsibility to include Product Management, Materials & Supply, Inventory, Production & Warehouse Operations, Facilities & Maintenance, and Safety.
Scope of Accountabilities Supply Chain Management
Develop and implement the strategy, processes and systems necessary to ensure that inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods meet company objectives through careful planning and analysis of demand, usage, forecasts, industry trends, etc;
Establish and nurture excellent communication and cooperation, and the lowest possible supply costs, with key Supply Chain Partner (SCP) relationships;
In collaboration with Engineering and Quality, develop multiple SCPs for key technologies (front-end and back-end), while balancing the need for risk mitigation & flexibility with the cost advantages which can only be obtained by aggregating volume with primary SCPs;
Proactively negotiate cost-downs with SCPs, maximizes SCP performance, and proactively take corrective actions to overcome supply chain/delivery obstacles, and resolve issues through close SCP communication;

Regularly perform risk assessment analysis, including identification of manufacturing locations and operations performed, limits sole or limited source supply chain situations and identify new or additional sources to ensure supply chain continuity;
Manage the manufacturing order (MO) process and priority sequence to ensure all raw materials and bill of material (BOM) components are supplied to subcontractors in time to meet required in-house dates and planned inventory levels;
Overall responsibility for Late Delivery Prevention and Management process/system and associated customer communication, in conjunction with Sales management.
Purchasing Operations
Oversee the purchasing processes and functions of the Materials department, ensuring Engineering and Quality sign off on any changes to and/or all new items.
Ensure that new items are properly set up in item file maintenance, purchase order requisitions are properly approved by all required members, proper planning codes, planners, and min/max quantity, and that quotation process proactively maximizes cost savings opportunities.
Production Operations
Perform analysis for capacity planning and make improvements to floor operations and workflow, work force utilization, space requirements, and layout of equipment and workspace to maximize efficiency, reduce costs and improve turnaround time;
Improve internal processes, process documentation & staff training, and labor data efficacy to drive continuous improvement across all operations (equipment and member productivity);
Clear production area of unused equipment and improves test capabilities to allow for testing of more criteria, including up-screening;
Warehouse, Facilities, Equipment & Safety
Ensure: 1)accurate and timely receipt of all product, product-related, and non-product items; 2)accuracy and timeliness of outgoing shipments processed; and 3)inventory accuracy, while achieving 100% customer delivery satisfaction;
Accountable for the troubleshooting, set up, repair, and calibration of existing electrical and mechanical test/production/QC/Engineering equipment, including both automatic test/production and bench equipment;
Purge inventory of expired products (products that cannot be used due to age-related quality issues);
Assure compliance with safety and legal requirements, such as OSHA rules and regulations, and member safety & accident prevention in general, in conjunction with the Safety Manager, Human Resources, and EVP, Operations & Risk Management;
Assure consistent optimal visitor ready appearance of facilities and manages internal/external facilities work performed by third parties.

ESIRED QUALIFICATIONS he Director, Production & Supply Chain Operations will be a seasoned professional with demonstrated success in leading and building value within the supply chain and production operations functions in the semiconductor industry. strong relationship builder, this individual must possess excellent communication skills, an executive presence, and the ability to influence and work effectively up and down the organization, as well as in a diverse supplier community.
Professional Experience & Skills Required
A minimum of 15 years experience, including a minimum of 10+ in progressively more responsible supply chain management as well as experience in various production operations (such as cleanroom, marking, taping, testing), industrial engineering (such as layouts and time study), production control, warehouse operations, plant maintenance, safety and compliance; specific experience in the semiconductor industry (wafer fab, assembly, etc);
Thorough knowledge of semiconductor process technology, semiconductor materials, and semiconductor packaging technology is a must; experience vetting suppliers (foundry, assembly, test, packaging) and knowledge of industrial Mil/Aero requirements a plus; with ISO9001:2008/2015 is preferred;
Demonstrated analytical skills in examining, developing, reengineering production and supply chain processes and electronic systems and interpreting a strategic vision into an operational model;
Evidence of having built and mentored a best-in-class team with focus on continuous improvement;
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in electrical engineering or materials science; industrial engineering, supply chain, and business management are all acceptable; an advanced degree is considered a strong plus;
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to analyze data, and then communicate the results in a concise and effective format.
