ARCHITECTURE PORTFOLIO
Welcome to my Architecture Portfolio, a few examples of work that I have produced throughout my bachelor’s University Journey, a journey that I have thoroughly enjoyed. While it has been difficult at times, I am a committed person that always strives to be better, and I hope you can see this from the quality of my work and how it progresses throughout my time studying. I plan to keep going with this avenue not only because I love creating and having something to look back on and be proud, but I also love learning, being taught by people more knowledgeable than me, knowledge that I can then eventually pass onto the next willing person.
I hope you enjoy looking through my work, and see what inspired me throughout the process!

BUILDING TECHNOLOGY AND PERFORMANCE
My first ever Architectural project, where we learnt the importance of line weights in architectural drawings while also learning the basic architectural views. Design Studio 2 meant was a project that really challenged the skills of me at that time, learning how to communicate ideas as I went along and improving all the time. Understanding how architecture was in the past and the influences it has on modern-day architecture is an imperative aspect of the industry and preserving its beauty. Learning digital modelling and rendering software, an essential skill in modern architecture, began in this module.
Beginning to understand how buildings are made is another essential skill in becoming an architect and this module is all this method of thinking.

My Arch1051 Design Studio Project was titled fluid motion, a project where I learned how the power of water can be used in many wonderful ways to produce food, energy, and many other essential things in a person’s everyday life. My project specifically considered how Water contributed to producing food and energy through the processes of Hydroponics and Hydro electrics. This required me to undertake research into the processes themselves, learning them inside and out, while also understanding precedent studies. Both contributed to a wellinformed project that kicked off my university journey in the right direction.
The processes being researched in this project are in place to reduce human’s environmental impact, for this reason, it is necessary to have a design that considered the environment in the same way. In line with these ideas, I included a locally sourced Timber Lattice structure that acts as a façade and covers the internal structure.
Rainwater collection was a major aspect of this project, powering the Hydroponics and Hydroelectric processes while also reducing the Environmental impacts of my space. One of the most influential precedents when trying to understand this process was Sneung Village Hall in Cambodia, a simple but effective rainwater collection method that provides a clean water source to the village’s residents.

BUILDING TECHNOLOGY REPORT
A project where I learned the importance of orientation in design and how this affects a user’s journey through my space. An essay where I learned the importance of Louis Kahn’s Salk Institute and the bearing it has on modern architecture. Further developing my ability to communicate my designs is a skill essential to any architectural project.
A project where I experimented with lighting, challenging myself with an underground design home to a library.
In second year, I gained knowledge on the importance of urban aspects of a building’s design such as footstep analysis and acoustic analysis that all contribute to a building’s design.

This project involved group work in workshop form, experimenting with materials, form and function to produce more sculptural masses.

‘Iter Salitus’ is a Latin term that when translated means ‘Health journey’, my Arch2051 project was all about producing a healthcare facility that challenges the traditional typology. I focused on orientation in this project, focusing on the narrative behind my project, a journey through the space. I wanted my design to focus on allowing people to visit, and stay for a while before leaving the facility feeling revitalised, which I feel every Healthcare facility should naturally do.

Revit was a programme I got to grips with throughout my university journey allowing me to produce accurate digital models of my proposals improving communication of designs altogether.
This image shows a plan view of my healthcare centre and the journey it takes people on through the site as part of the narrative of my proposal.

TECHNOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENT STUDIES
A project with no limitations, utilising two programmes with completely opposing purposes. One inside an existing building, and one proposed design. Here I learnt how to really express my creativity, where to utilise my design freedom, a project that allowed me to sell my progression through university. My dissertation allowed me to understand the role architecture has in any settlement and how this has a direct influence on the Sense of community in this settlement.
An Interesting Group project that allowed us to understand architectural business improving my knowledge on how architecture works in a real-world perspective in terms of business.
Again, developing my knowledge of architectural technology further. I now have an understanding of the composition of every building type and also understand why certain materials have been chosen the way they have.

My Arch3035 project ‘Expression Through Exploration’, celebrates a combination of two of Leicester’s most historic and prominent industries, The Space and Textiles industries. These combine to produce a space manufacturing facility that will specialise in producing space suits. This alongside Graff HQ ( A unique Grafitti cafe that currently exists in the space) will produce a space that people travel from far and wide to visit, witnessing the process of space suits being manufactured, highlighting the spaces educational ability while also retaining the expressive nature that Graff HQ creates through art. The completely opposing design languages that compose this building not only link the design to the nearby National Space Centre but satisfy the brief of using an Existing building and adding an opposing programme to it. All of which have combined to produce the image on this page and creating Expression through Exploration, my Arch 3035 Project.

More interior images that show how my skills in post-production have improved throughout university. I plan to keep improving these skills throughout my career.
This drawing shows an example of a section cut taken through my proposal, the communication of these drawings far exceeds what I produced in previous years.

Glass Curtain Wall Layer: People will be able to explore this first internal layer of the building that signifies the layers of a space suit construction, this will add another layer to the Exhibition experience.
Curtain Layer: When the Curtain is drawn this has the potential to create another layer of the building where further exhibitons can be held for the people in the Curtain Wall Layer.
Internal Layer: When the curtain is drawn this will allow me to have the ability to regulate lighting on the internal layer and create a space environment for visitors improving their experience overall.
External Skin: The ETFE texture that will reveal the outline of the contents of the internal layers due to the Translucent nature of the ETFE pillows.
