How to be on Google is a highly searched term and there is a reason- just about everyone that uses a computer uses Google. So how do to be on Google? You can always start a blog using Google's Blogger services. Best of all, it is free to use. Using this platform, not only was I able to get a blog in the index within 5 minutes, I was able to get on page one of Yahoo and Bing for some very popular search terms. With the Google honeymoon, I have yet to determine where some of my posts really stand, but for the time being they are midway up page on for some of my keywords. Getting out of teh sandbox is a must, and it has to be done with building back links. To be on Google, you can also submit an XML sitemap to them and that will get normally get you indexed rather quickly- just make the sure you have some content for the Google bots to read. A very important factor to be on Google is to be relevant to the keyword, and write great content that will be looked upon as the authority of the subject. Include source links to sites that really are the authority, and put some back links into sites that are relevant to the niche, as well. Then submit all of this to your social bookmarks and get the traffic rolling. Utilizing the widgets like Google's +1, Facebook's like and all the rest will also get you into the index faster. Finding sites with a high page rank to link to can be tricky, as this is a field where there is a lot of misinformation for a lot of people to make money from. Buying back links is ridiculous because most of the time you can put these links in yourself, you just have to really dig for the information. At his point in the game, I have a so much to learn that I am not any kind of authority to be speaking on these techniques, by any means. I can only share with you the information and experience I have with Google over the last decade of web work I have done. One of the most important aspects I feel I have learned is the emphasis of content. If you are not writing something that is connecting with you audience, you might as well have an empty store front on Fifth Ave. There were sites and posts that I had written, thinking they were internet gold and they flopped.
Then I write something that I think is funny or silly, and it takes off to be my number one page. I discovered the reason was because I was writing about something that had two important elements1. High search traffic 2. No/little content about it on the web currently To find these golden coins of traffic, you need to use some other tools form Google, like the keyword tool in Adwords. This will give you a basic idea of what keywords are being searched monthly. There are many techniques to using it to find the keywords with high traffic and low competition. I use intuition and harmony. I really don't know how to explain it more than that.
Once you find a keyword, then you go to Google's search bar and type inallintitle:"the keywords here" This will then give you a display of how many cached pages have that keyword in the title, article, and/or page name. There is an SEO element to all of this, and it is not as simple as this equation. It is a great start, however, as I can say from my very little experience. How to be on Google is really a mystery that changes with their algorithms, and we can only hope to get lucky and dance the best we can with it.
