WE ARE SMOKIN SNOWBOARDS Winter Two Thousand and Twenty marks 25 years of hand building snowboards right here in the USA. From experience driven innovation and a quarter century of trial and error, we have managed to evolve our design and technology naturally. This inadvertently resulted in us receiving the industries highest accolades and real rider driven awards. Our ears, always to the ground, listening to a worldwide network of rider feedback, we have applied generations of ideas and advances in materials and technology to this winters product line. Our goal, to produce snowboards, high in quality, backed by a 3 year warranty, timeless in design and technological relevance, has brought us into a new era of principal and understanding. The previously celebrated and anticipated release of the “next big thing” or the cool factor of having the “newest of the new” each season, perpetuated a cycle of irrelevance in previous seasons product lines and pushed consumerism. The problem with that is, manufacturing snowboards is honestly, bad for the planet. The majority of materials in a snowboard, even from recycled stock, become unusable and not recyclable once it is assembled all together to create the final product. Looking toward the future, the focus of the business of snowboarding has to shift. The protection of our planet and the timeless value and relevance of each board has to take top priority. We have always incorporated recycled materials and responsibly farmed wood into our construction, our three year warranty keeps our boards on the mountain longer, reducing the need for consumption of raw materials and the energy needed to produce a new deck. The slow evolution of technology, already proven functional over nearly three decades renders a guaranteed relevant, design and feature package to suit your needs and be current, for years to come. There’s no easy solution to managing the snow sports industries need for raw material, manufacturing waste, or the truly single use aspect of a snowboards once it’s lived out its usefulness. Becoming more aware of this and working to find ways to reduce our impact on the planet is a great start. So here we are, Smokin Snowboards, taking inventory of what we are already doing to address this, and making a commitment to do more. Recycling isn’t enough, treasure your goods and keep them performing at peak condition, for as long as you can.
