Peter Hills 1925-2016

JH 1939-44 TS Staff 1960-88

Peter joined the Art Department in 1960, later becoming Head of Art in 1963. He sculpted the Madonna and Child in the Lady Chapel and the statue of St Augustine over the West Door of the restored Chapel.

Peter also produced many cartoons of the Common Room staff that were reproduced in The Tonbridgian. The splendid drawing of Barry Orchard is a good example of his skill.
