PALMYRA- BOUTIQUE HOTEL Palmyra’s design direction is inspired by St Augustine’s in the 1920s. This historical period birthed the mediterranean era, which greatly influenced the history, architecture and culture of the city. Palmyra reflects and celebrates the rich history of the city, bold architecture, exotic culture, vibrant texture and bright views. Mediterranean style features bold, vibrant jewel tones and saturated earthy shades. Its influence originated from trips to Spain, Italy and France. World travel played a tremendous part in influencing the 1920s mediterranean culture. Blue and teal tones are echoed throughout the space to reflect the colours of the ocean. Curved lines and arched doorways and windows mimic the Spanish architecture.

Boreal Bistro & Bar

BOREAL BISTRO & BAR- RESTAURANT Boreal is an exclusive Bistro and Bar restaurant located in Brooklyn, New York inspired by a painting of the famous post-impressionism painter, Vincent Van Gogh. The colour palette and line movement on his starry night over the Rhode painting inspired the store concept. The concept of the store is intended to be minimalistic and youthful with brightly coloured furniture. The restaurant aims to bring a new urban food experience to the millenial generation in Brooklyn.

TUKWAATH CENTRECOMMUNITY TUKWAATH Tukwaath centre is inspired by cedar trees. The long history of the Touquat nation is rooted in their culture of weaving, fishing and building using cedar. The form of the cedar root and texture of the drift wood reflect the flow in the space and the design of the centre would reflect this through the use of cedar wood panels on the ceiling to form a focal point in the entry of the space. The colour scheme is inspired by the drift wood and weaved basket and hat. The form and movement of the the whale in the sea is repeated in the flooring. Harmony bring all the elements of the space designed together, balance is achieved in the colour palette and the calmness of the sea.The design seeks to achieve a sense of harmony, community and education of the future generations of the Touquat nation. A tradition that that transcends time.
