Welcome
Celebrate. Participate. Collaborate. The Attitude
The Brief
Drum Machine is committed to developing the skills and knowledge of its members. Members will be encouraged to develop a professional attitude as musicians and performers. Attendance, punctuality and focussed attention at rehearsals will support this and enhance individual learning.
REHEARSALS 3 hours per week plus additional sessions if required. COST Annual subscription payable by direct debit in 12 monthly installments of £30. ATTENDANCE Attendance and punctuality are a demonstration of commitment to both your learning and DM membership. If you can’t make it, please contact Shani and do your best to give at least 24 hours notice of non-attendance. Please be punctual. If you are going to be late, please let Shani know before 6pm.
COMMUNICATION
COSTUMES & CHOREOGRAPHY
Communication will usually take place via text and e-mail. The doodle scheduler is used for gigs. Please acknowledge receipt and respond as soon as possible if a response is required.
Costume development and choreography are ongoing. Lou is our costumier and Nicky V our choreographer. If you want support, or would like to get involved in either group, please let us know.
KIT Drums are provided but straps, pads, beaters and sticks are not. Beaters and straps can be purchased from Knock on Wood. Pads are from various suppliers. If you need kit, let Shani know, so that group orders can be made wherever possible (saves on postage).
The Guidelines ONE POINT OF CONTACT
SHARED TRANSPORT
At gigs and festivals there will be one point of contact. This will usually be Aid or Shani.
Band members make their own way to and from gigs. Shared transport is coordinated by Shani via Drum Machine will reimburse fuel costs for shared transport. This is based on 4 people travelling per vehicle. Please provide relevant fuel receipts for this.
They will handle all enquiries and liaise with event organisers. TEAM WORK There is a system in place to ensure the smooth running of DM at gigs, festivals and workshops. Tasks are assigned in advance.
