20 years…. That’s a long time for such an amazing event, The Florida Motorcycle Expo and Bike Builder Invitational. few months! Of Course, February is our Expo, but March brings BIKE WEEK to Daytona Beach. Full Throttle will be hosting bike shows almost every day during Bike Week. We will be at Grandview Live, Insane Custom Cycles and Muscle Cars, The Daytona Beach Boardwalk, The Daytona International Speedway and we are trying to set up a few others as we speak. Then is April we have one of the best events around, LEESBURG BIKE FEST!!! I personally love Leesburg as we camp out there, have our booth set up in front of the Library Downtown and put on a bike show on Friday near the Budweiser stage. Leesburg is taken over by around 400,000 bikers every year in April and the city welcomes us with open arms! From the police to the paramedics and firefighters, they seem to really embrace the bikers and treat us great! We are really looking forward to this great event in April! Full Throttle Magazine had a great time at the Key West Poker Run, thank you to everyone who showed up and did the ride and everyone who helped make it a success! The stops were all very happy and we look forward to doing this again in September! One of the coolest things we did on the trip was that my brother, Paul M. Cianci, Les, Fluffy and myself were able to go on a ride together Sunday morning before we headed home. This was unique as it was the first time my brother and I we able to ride together. He just took his endorsement class and got his license Thursday before we left for the Keys. As a retired Navy Chief and 21 years of service, my brother is my hero. Being able to be there for his first ride and him riding my motorcycle in such a beautiful location like Key West, is something I will never forget! Love ya bro, and welcome to the Motorcycle Community!!! I would like to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day on the 14th and happy birthday to everyone with a birthday in February including my MOM, Happy birthday MAMA. Be safe and ride smart and make good decisions, don’t drink and ride and I will see you soon! Much love to all!

Afraid of Dropping your 950-lb. Motorcycle? Well, you should be. Especially if you can’t pick it up and you happen to drop your bike where there’s no one around to help you pick it back up. The good news, it’s rare that a person drops their bike on some deserted road. The drop generally happens when trying to maneuver through a crowded parking lot on a bike night or when attempting to make a U-turn on a side street. If you drop the bike at bike night, a half dozen people will run over to help you get it back up. Of course, you’ll be very embarrassed, as you should be, but that’s the worst that will happen. If you drop your bike on a side street, eventually, someone will stop and help you. But, there’s something you should know. First, if your 950 lb. Harley Ultra tips over, 99% of the time, the bike will not be damaged in any way as the crash bars will do their job and protect the bike. The 1% where the bike can get some minor damage is if the bike turtles all the way over to where the grip touches the ground. This happens if the drop occurs on an incline. In that case, you may wind up with a scratch on the top of the saddlebags or the tip of the fairing. If your bike has front and rear crash-bars, this kind of damage usually won’t happen. If your bike doesn’t have rear crash-bars as on the very popular Street Glide, get yourself a set. The real question is, why did the tip over happen? Well, rider error, plain and simple.

16

The error could be that you hit the front brake with the handlebars turned. That’s almost a guarantee drop; or, you don’t quite know how to coordinate the clutch and throttle well enough to use the friction zone. The friction zone is the gray area between where releasing the clutch and the bike starts to move, and, fully engaged, where you’ve let the clutch out all the way. Getting familiar and comfortable with the friction zone will prevent you from ever dropping your motorcycle. How can you tell if your proficient at using the friction zone? That’s easy. Try riding in a straight line at a slow walking pace. Have someone walk along side you very slowly. If you must put one or both feet down while trying this, you have NOT mastered the friction zone and you’re a drop looking for a place to happen. The only way to get the hang of this is to practice over and over until you can ride at a slow walking pace without putting a foot down. Keep your head and eyes UP! NEVER look down. Keep your rpm’s at between 1500 and 1800. Idle is not enough. If you try this just using idle, you will either stall the bike or let the clutch out too far, thereby, you’ll be going too fast. Once you’re pretty good at riding at a slow walking pace using the friction zone, try bringing the revs up a bit and dragging the rear brake. Dragging the rear brake means putting a little pressure on the rear brake while in the friction zone. You should then realize you can go even slower with complete control. Once you feel you’re in complete control, try making a 30’ circle at a slow walking pace. At that slow a pace, you won’t be able to lean the bike. But, if you can make that circle at that speed with confidence, you have a good handle on the friction zone and your chances of dropping the bike just went down and your confidence way up. Your fear of dropping your 950-lb. bike is all but eliminated and this should take about an hour’s worth of practice. Till next month, get out there and practice! Looking back a few weeks was our Key West Poker Run, thank you to all the great people who came out in support of “Rebuilding the Keys” we had a great time, and look forward to doing it again. Getting to meet everyone who came down and then party with them out at Tattoos and Scars Saloon was a lot of fun! Thanks to the Coppers who came out to meet us and explore Duval Street until the early hours of the morning. On a personal note, the day after the Poker Run, I got to go on my first “legal” motorcycle ride, what a great time! Thank you, Tony, for loaning me the Ba-

From Wall Street To Main Street “Invest Smart – Ride Safe” Michelle Osborne 754-MONEY-AM www.fromwallstreettomainstreet.com Ah tax time……Since we had a record year in many of the market indices last year and the economy seems to keep improving, analysts are still calling for the longest bull market ever; you might want to take note of some tax law changes that will affect you this year. Below are some examples. Estate tax law – Under previous tax law, anyone with an estate valued over 5.49 mill. was subject to the 40% tax and married was 11 mill. The new tax law allows up to 11.2 mill. for individuals and up to 22 mill. for couples, which obviously does not affect most people. It does affect what you do about your estate. Most estate planning issues can be handled through proper titling of your accounts and in many cases certain trust can be set up for the flow of assets. Trusts are not always the answer for estate planning and they need to be carefully crafted. We can help you determine the direction prior to seeing your estate planning attorney for your assets. This can help with maximizing capitalization not only during your lifetime, but after your death.

Corporate tax – the previous top corporate tax bracket was 35% and with using the corporate AMT guide, corporations were required to pay the higher of the 35% or the corporate AMT. With the new tax law, the corporate AMT was repealed and the top corporate tax rate is 21% a significant benefit to help corporate America. According to economic history and the analysts this should keep our economy healthy and growing. These are just a few of the new changes to keep in mind during this wonderful time of year “tax season”. With so many Americans enjoying the rise of the “Bull” across the board in so many markets, we need to do everything we can to keep those gains in your pocket. As most of you who read my articles regularly know, I talk about the risk of what can eat away your earnings. Taxes and fees can diminish your return and make a net/net difference in what you actually keep and enjoy. This time of year is a good time to give us a call for an annual review of your entire financial situation. Usually what happens in one part of your financial house, affects the other parts of that house. We will take a helicopter approach to your situation and work closely with your accountant or attorney. This can help you best utilize the avenues of investing, planning, and creating income. Just a limited amount left. Don't miss out. Ok enough about that. What a January. We have all had so much fun. The awesome bike nights and all the people coming out has been great. To top it off we had our Key West Poker Run. WOW what a good time and turn out this one was. The weather was beautiful and warm. We started at K&G Motorcycles in Florida city. 7 Stops later we was in Key West at Tattoo and Scars having a big party and awards. Duval was hoping with people and good times. Needless to say the roosters was crowing when we got back to the Hotel. What a bunch of degenerates we are. LOL We got to experience something really special down in Key West as well. I hope you all Paul by now.

He is Tony's brother that just retired from the Navy after 21 years of service. Being away so long he never got to ride with his brother. He finally got his bike license the Weds before we left. We took a bike down with us and he road for his first time all over Key West. It was a special moment to all of us to see Tony and Paul ride together after all there time apart. Well that's about it for now. As always ride safe and stay free. Les Tolliver Sales Manager and Event Organizer 727-534-4447 Les.FullThrottleMagazine@gmail.com

Well January is finally ending and what a month it was... Lots of things going on, but for me the best was receiving my motorcycle endorsement.. I have put this off for years but with the help of my friend Norma Lorenz, who gave me the info and bugged me till I called, I managed to get set up with a class. I am grateful Norma LOL! So I set out one day to Tampa Harley, another great team, to meet with Bruce Barton who organizes the classes. and I did sign up, picked a date and sealed it in ink! There was no turning back. I was nervous but determined. My instructors were Dave Hrenchir and Daniel Landando, two people I now admire for their patience and ability to teach multiple people without missing a step or loosing their temper. Don't know if I could have done that.. The course I found to be very informative. Forced me to look at things I may never have considered and now will be things I practice while

48

riding. Dave was the kind of instructor you can definitely appreciate, a sense of humor when necessary, but serious when it needed to be. His way of teaching made it so that everyone was able to learn and take in all the info he was offering. Dan was the instructor who made you feel calm, just when you thought you wanted to give up, his calm voice chimes in. He kept us laughing and made sure we ate to keep up our energy.. The two together made the perfect team. The course was ever changing, S turns, U turns, Quick stops, shifting, Go faster, Slow down, Obstacles in the road, everything you may come across on the road they threw at us. Before each course they clearly explained and demonstrated exactly how we were supposed to do the next step. Harley supplied us with the Street 500cc bikes to ride. I loved them and would ride one. The class was great and I would go back for the advanced course, It could only be helpful. If your interested in taking a class give Bruce Barton a call at Tampa Harley 813-886-7433, he will help you in anyway needed. A big Thank You to my instructors, you were both great!!! And a huge Thank You to my team at New Port Richey Harley, your support was AMAZING, LOVE YOU ALL... And I did pass the class!!! RIDE SAFE EVERYONE, SEE YOU OUT THERE!!! CONNIE!!!

"Will you use it to go fishing instead of buying food?" I asked. "No, I don't waste time fishing," the homeless man said.."I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive." One morning Emma woke up with a start. Her husband Jim asked what was the matter, she told him, "I just had a dream that you gave me a pearl necklace for Valentine's day. What do you think it means?" "You'll know tonight," Jim said. That evening, Jim home with a small package and gave it to his wife. Delighted, Emma opened it - only to find a book entitled "The meaning of dreams”. ______________________ Mike walked into a post office just before Valentine's day, he couldn't help noticing a middle-aged, balding man standing in a corner sticking "Love" stamps on bright pink envelopes with hearts all over them. Then the man got out a bottle of Channel perfume from his pocket and started spraying scent over the envelopes. By now Mike's curiosity had got the better of him, and so I asked the man why he was sending all those cards. The man replied, "I'm sending out 500 Valentine cards signed, 'Guess who?'" "But why?" asked Mike. "I'm a divorce lawyer," the man replied. ______________________ I was walking down the street when I was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless man who asked me for a couple of dollars for dinner.

50

"Will you spend this on hunting equipment?" I asked. "Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless man. "I haven't gone hunting in 20 years!" "Well," I said, "I'm not going to give you money. Instead, I'm going to take you home for a shower and a terrific dinner cooked by my wife." The homeless man was astounded. "Won't your wife be furious with you for doing that? I replied, "Don't worry about that. It's important for her to see what a man looks like after he has given up drinking, fishing and hunting." ______________________ A woman has a heart attack. During this, she dies and meets God. "Will I die?" she asked. "No," God replied, "You will live for another 40 years, 2 months, and 8 days." At this instant, she snapped back alive. After the heart attack, she decides to make the most of her life. She gets a face lift, liposuction, and a tummy tuck. She even gets a surgery to change the color of her hair. After her final surgery, she walks out and gets hit by a car and dies. When she goes up in heaven and meets God, she's steaming. "What was that!?" she asked.

I took out my wallet, extracted ten dollars and asked,"If I give you this money, will you buy some beer with it instead of dinner?"

"What?" God responded, "You died."

"No, I had to stop drinking years ago," the homeless man replied.

"Oh." God thought for a while.

"You said I would live another 40 years!" "I didn't recognize you."

______________________ A little girl and boy are fighting about the differences between the sexes, and which one is better. Finally, the boy drops his pants and says, “Here’s something I have that you’ll never have!” The little girl is pretty upset by this, since it is clearly true, and runs home crying. A while later, she comes running back with a smile on her face. She drops her pants and says, “My mommy says that with one of these, I can have as many of those as I want!” _______________________ A woman places an ad in the local newspaper. “Looking for a man with three qualifications: won’t beat me up, won’t run away from me, and is great in bed.” Two days later her doorbell rings. “Hi, I’m Tim. I have no arms so I won’t beat you, and no legs so I won't run away.” “What makes you think you are great in bed?” the woman retorts. Tim replies, “I rang the doorbell, didn’t I?” _____________________ A boy is selling fish on a corner. To get his customers' attention, he is yelling, "Dam fish for sale! Get your dam fish here!" A pastor hears this and asks, "Why are you calling them 'dam fish.'" The boy responds, "Because I caught these fish at the local dam." The pastor buys a couple fish, takes them home to his wife, and asks her to cook the dam fish. The wife responds surprised, "I didn't know it was acceptable for a preacher to speak that way." He explains to her why they are dam fish. Later at the dinner table, he asks his son to pass the dam fish. He responds, "That's the spirit, Dad! Now pass the f*cking potatoes!"

Man, oh man, how the first month of the New Year has flown by is crazy. Not to mention the weather we're having (Burrrr cold) but yet we still ride. And if you were riding the scoots around South Hillsborough County in a little town of Riverview Florida then you would have ridden up on three days of Gibtown bike fest! What a turn out, I mean literally it was a sea of black leather and chrome as Riders pulled in to enjoy some Killer music from the bands that played, with wall2wall vendors, great food and exciting motorcycle stunt shows and my man David "The bullet" Smith firing himself out of a cannon! Yup, you read that right. out of a cannon. Plus, the ride in bike show never disappoints. It's always nice seeing the hard work and pride that

52

goes into people's rides. Which brings up another huge 3-day event on the 9th 10th and 11th in beautiful Clearwater Florida. The 2018 20th annual Motorcycle Expo bike builder invitation is back at Quaker Steak & Lube!!!! And this guy here it's excited. Just the list of artists that will be playing the event is unreal. We have Lita Ford, Warrant, Den of Thieves, Jasmine Cain, Black honkeys and Love n Revenge just to name a few. I definitely can't leave out the Miss Full Throttle bikini contest which the winner will bring home a cool $1,000 cash and bragging rights. To the best in show at the Build-Off brings home $5,000 cash, a Super bowl style ring a skull piston Trophy and a big check! I mean what else could you ask for with a free event? And if you didn't know we also still have VIP tickets for sale which is good for all three days of the Expo. I hope to see you there. and remember guys and gals I'm in the Spring Hill area so if you see me on the scoot, throw up a hand or rev up the throttle. Ride safe everyone. “Don’t quit your Day Job just yet” Hey fellow Anglers have you ever thought “I want to ditch this job and make my living fishing”? Want to earn a big paycheck catchin fish? Well I am not sure you should quit your day job just yet but there are a few Tournaments coming up soon where you can put a little jingle in your pocket. You better start prepping now for the 7th Annual Jimmy Johnson Billfish Tournament Key Largo, FL March 7th – 10th, 2018. Oh, did I forget to mention that there is a 1.5 Million dollar payout guaranteed by the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, the first Tournament ever to have a guaranteed purse of 1 Million. “Being the Best” is the mantra of this tournament and its celebrity host Coach Jimmy Johnson. Every team in this tournament trying to earn their spot in the Ring of Honor and not to mention Diamond studded Marlin Rings for each team member. While you are there fishing get ready to rub elbows with the likes of star athletes like Russell Marland, Zach Thomas, Dan Stubbs Desmond Howard on and on. This Tournament has a big heart and not just

for Bill fishing, they give over $75,000 in donations to chosen charities each year. It looks like 7 is our lucky number again because we are also fishing the 7th Annual “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament Friday, May 11 in Ft. Meyers, FL. This Tournament is special not only because we are raising money for the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge but it is held at historic Doc Ford’s in Ft. Meyer’s. The unique thing about this Tournament is it is 100% pay back to the anglers and there is only a max of 50 teams so the reward can be huge. Last year the #1 Team YAM won over $16,000 and we also raised $80,000 to donate to the Ding Darlin Wildlife Refuge-Win-Win. Even if you don’t fish it you should come and be a part of the party and you can donate year round to the Refuge. In 1924 & 1942, Jay Norwood Darling “Ding” was honored with a Pulitzer Prize for a cartoon that espoused hard work and nature. Mr. Darling became alarmed at the loss of wildlife habitat and the possible extinction of many species and became and early pioneer for conservation to influence a nation hence the namesake. Last Year team “Let’s Take it Outside” came in 15th in our first go around, we are looking to move up the board this year in May. Misty Wells Host of “Let’s Take It Outside” TV show & National Radio show, Outdoor Pro –Writer & Adventure Guide for Fishing & Hunting trips. Founder of “A Reel Future” a non-profit organization devoted to sharing knowledge & passion of fishing and the great outdoors to foster kids Statewide. Hello there!!.... Our year has definitely started off with a bang! We have had a very busy January so far… We participated in the Key West Poker Run, was so much fun and met a lot of new friends. Thank you, Tony, and everyone for a great trip, you didn’t have to ask twice for us to spend a week end in key west…lol. And congrats Paul on your first ride! Also, our shop BIK has been far from slow! Keith has been working around the clock day and night to get everyone’s bikes in and out before Bike week! He hates to say no to anyone…well ok anyone that’s not his future wife…just kidding Babe! But seriously, we want everyone happy with their build and to be able to ride proud with the custom work they have allowed us to do for them. BIK builds bikes mild to wild! We cater to all types of bikes, Harley Davidson, Indian to name a few. I think there is a picture Tony took of us in the keys on pedal bikes Keith built for our trip… Part of our business that makes our builds successful is having our own painter and seat guy. A big thank you to Paint by Reggie Stone and Seats by Tommy for doing amazing work that

’s r e g r u B f f i B

compliments the builds. So, I’m sure we can build something for you. We also do Insurance claims and can get a bigger bang for your buck! You won’t be disappointed. Hi Everyone ! It was another great event month ! Welcome to a New year lets hope 2018 is a prosperous & fun filled year with interesting rides & events to look forward to ! We attended the Alligator Alley Harley Customer appreciation Day hosted by W.O.G.(Wings of Gold MC) music by Soulicide & Hired Gunz - two local favorites, vendors and some great deals on Harley clothes & bikes. It was a good turnout -great to see everyone! This was followed by an afternoon @ Cafe' 27 where Eclipse was entertaining the crowd - another fun filled day of events & nice day to ride in sunny south Florida !! The big F.T. event in Sth. Fl.- 'Key West Poker Run ' was a resounding success with over 150 participants despite the chilly temps - a good day to break out the leathers! The ride started @ K & G Cycles in Fl. City with stops in between leading to the final stop @ Oceans Edge Resort in Key West. Oceans Edge Resort is a beautiful new resort and marina away from the hustle & bustle of downtown but only minutes from the famous Duvall St. - a must see - so make sure to check it out if you're in the area! The Keys Poker Run proceeds went to benefit rebuilding the Keys - they are up & running so remember our neighbors & businesses - lets help support them by visiting! Also on the same weekend was the always fun KISS 99.9 Chili Cook off headlined by six big bands: Darius Rucker, Big & Rich, Old

84

Dominion,Midland and Brandon Lay. Held at CB Smith Park in Pembroke Pines- always brings a taste of Texas to South Florida! Also going on was the Benefit for Life ride presented by Peterson's Harley and hosted by the Cartels. This ride started at Peterson's South and ending at Jimmy Johnson's Big Chill Key Largo. It was an inaugural charity motorcycle & jeep ride benefiting the American cancer society. The last weekend of the month wraps up with a couple of big events: Cagney's House of Rock our local hot spot for Ft Laud. popular bands, hosted the Der Krieger MC annual party and had MNG (Mr.Nice guy) rocking the crowd as always ! Great time - great music-great friends! The Dania Beach Antique motorcycle show is another popular local event which was on Sat. Jan 27th. Its the 12th annual Vintage Motorcycle show @ Frost park where you can view 380 vintage bikes, swap meet, antique bike displays, vendors, field games, live music, dealer displays & more ! That's it for now- more from KJ's Korner next month! Let's enjoy the ride & keep the rubber on the road! ** If you would like to advertise- Please contact me @ KJ.FullThrottleMag@gmail.com- South Florida & Miami
