Well, here we are, and we have already had a few named storms / hurricanes head our way. We also don’t need to worry if it is going to rain anymore as it seems to rain every day like clockwork. That seems to be the best and worst of Florida. Of course, the god-awful heat during the middle of the day, then just like that it’s downpouring. This is why we live in paradise, well, not this weather but the upcoming fall into spring 6 months. Right now, we just get to enjoy the heat and rain. Be safe when setting out for a day ride, watch the weather, bring your rain gear and be sure to stay hydrated.
July looks promising with motorcycle events as there are a few new bike nights and big events happening. First let’s talk about bike nights, there is a new bike night at Hawthorne Bottle Shoppe 2927 Central Ave in Downtown St. Pete on Saturday July 13th. This is new and should be a lot of fun. Next is Wings Etc. happening in Palm Harbor starting Tuesday July 16th. I have eaten here, and it’s located right on alt. 19. I think this is going to be a great new bike night. Next let’s talk about some of the bigger events happening like the annual soaked and sore ass poker run! This year is all about the ride. We are starting in Hudson at Circle S BBQ where they are also hosting a huge breakfast for everyone to start the day. We are riding across the state to the East Coast, heading South and cutting across around Lake Okeechobee and heading back to the west coast and ending at Bert’s Black Widow Harley and The Twisted Fork in Port Charlotte. This is our annual event and we pay for the top three poker hands and worst poker hand. You can either pre-register or sign up the day of, either way it’s going to be a great ride this year!
Full Throttle Magazine and social media has gone through a few changes in the past few months. We moved out of our offices in Holiday to save production costs, and I am now working from home. We also went fully digital in December 2023 and have been 100% digital since then. We did produce a
Bike Week program that was very successful and gave a lot of great information about all the events happening in Daytona at Bike Week. We will continue to be a digital monthly digital magazine and we will also continue to host a weekly web show now called ThrottleVision TV. We will be focusing on all things Throttle from Bikes to cars to boats to anything with a motor. We will also still be hosting bike nights and promoting events and bike shows on all our advertising platforms at very reasonable prices. Do you want us to help make your bike night or event a success, just give me a call and we will promote it heavily online. We can help make your event a success for very minimal costs. Feel free to call me at 727-919-1743 or email me at tonyc@ floridafullthrottle.com
Another big event happening in July is the Great American Biker Bash at Tampa Bay Harley 9841 E. Adamo Dr. Tampa. There is a lot going on at this event like you can win a $500 Harley Gift Card, $100 for the Best Chopper, you can win a Harley-Davidson Cooler from the Fran Haasch law Group, a 10 class custom ride in bike show and a FREE Hot Rod Classic car show. This event is going to be on Saturday July 27th 11am till 6pm. Vendors are welcome and wanted, call 813-785-3895.
On The cover this month is our Bike Babe of the Month AKA: Mississippi from the West Coast Florida Riders. The WCFR have some great events coming up also this month and in the upcoming months. In July they have the Get-A-Way trip to Helen GA July 17th – 21st. Next month is August they have their annual NITTY GRITTY YBOR CITY Pool Party on Saturday August 10th. I have seen pictures from this great event and let’s just say it’s a heck of a pool party! Then is September you have the WCFR Flotilla Bikers & Boaters Saturday September 14th. This event is held on Beer Can Island aka Pine Key. I have been told there are plenty of boats to help bring people back and forth if you do not own a boat or need a ride.
I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy 4th of July. Be careful while playing with fireworks, be sure to drink water while enjoying a few cocktails, use lots of sunscreen and always bring your rain gear when out on those day trips. Let’s also hope the Hurricanes stay away and we all make it unscathed through this storm season. Don’t drink and ride and I’ll see you soon.
The Diva Angels Herricane Chapter was started to reach women motorcycle enthusiasts in North Pinellas/Oldsmar/North Tampa. We usually ride North and Northeast, but we have been known to go wherever a run we are supporting may lead us. We try not to make it about the destination but about the journey, comradery, fun, and the empowerment of riding on our own. We are a small group compared to the established chapters, but we are open to women who want to share the riding experience with us and part of a sisterhood.
We will be supporting “Marjorie’s Hope” preparing to distribute 5000 backpacks to students in need. We will also be collecting items that will be listed on our Facebook page and our Herricane chapter website.
Some aerial drone video was recorded on the first day of the Full Throttle
Biker Buildoff while volunteering with other Diva Angels. The video with the highlights of the evening will be available on YouTube/Lexesanity channel in July, so check it out!
Come visit our chapter meetings at 10am the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Clearwater Family Restaurant, 1844 N Highland Ave, Clearwater, FL 33755. Come have breakfast with us and find out where we plan to ride next.
Check out our website http://www.divaangels.org to find a chapter near you,
visit us on Facebook at https://www. facebook.com/daherricane, Meetup, or YouTube
“Lexesanity” channel to follow our events, shenanigans, and join in with us when you can. We are a 501c (7) not for profit organization.
Lexe, Herricane Chapter COME RIDE WITH US!
America. Where dreams come true. As I sit here reflecting on the abundance of blessings America received starting with freedom from tyrannical government in 1776, I look at current issues and can’t help but to wonder where in the world are we heading. This quote comes to mind resonating like a gong; “Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times.” ― G. Michael Hopf, Those Who Remain
You see, I feel for as long as I can remember we have benefited from generations of strong men creating good times and now we are in the good times milking every benefit we can which is resulting in weaker and weaker generation. These generations like a spoiled child just continue to ask claiming entitlements with a victim mentality and demanding more and more. A lot of folks would love to “socialize” the land of the free. Nothing wrong with taking care of our own. Thing is, I see a lot of virtue-signaling being used to guilt and justify initiatives with a flair of arrogance with a mob mindset hostile to the very fabric of our freedom and values; Judeo-Christian values. We need to stop that and take a stand against these manipulative mentalities. If we don’t, it will be disastrous.
Personally, I don’t understand how we came to the point where we take better care of foreigners than our veterans. How do we glorify athletes paying them millions for playing a sport while we pay military recruits just under ~$30K per year for defending us? We teach our sons the false glories of sports and we neglect teaching them the magnificent beauty of warrior heroes who sacrificed their own lives for us all. I can’t build a bathroom in my house or cut a tree without a permit. We argue about which bathroom is the right one to get in. It’s wrong to assign a gender event in the face of scientific biological evidences because feelings matter more than facts it seems. We now have young ladies twerking online making millions. We give them all the limelight whereas the hard working moms are looked upon as if their lifestyle was insignificant. Masculinity is vilified and characterized as toxic but when someone needs protection they sure are happy to count on a masculine force. ~80% of divorces are filed by women because of “lack of commitment, cheating, arguing and conflict” and we forget the vows we said “for better and for worse”. Other countries it seems are dependent on USA and if we don’t support them we are criticized and
guilted into it. If that doesn’t work then fear is always a good fall back and we just eat it all up.
Canadians for example love to give their opinions about how the USA should be run. I know. I was born there. Today some members of my family will not speak with me because I call a spade a spade. You want to socialize? Here is how it is in Canada as a sample; your income taxes there will run between ~25% and up to about ~55% depending how much you make. Then you will pay anywhere between ~7% to ~15% sales tax on just about anything you buy. That said if you are in the higher bracket you really are looking at almost ~70% on your earned dollars going to “social programs”. This leaves you with ~$0.30 on the dollars to pay your bills.
healthcare so they get better care and they don’t have to wait. But no one talks about that. Free health care? Lets not get into how the Canadian governments use tax payers money.
All that said Canada’ s population is about 38 million people. Immigration has been and remains the most important factor in Canada’s population growth. So here we have a country of 38 million people criticizing (for the most part) America, a world power country of ~330 million people for how they should run America! Then we have haters of America in other parts of the world who envy our freedom, want our freedom but treat their own women, children and gay communities in ways that will make you cringe with horror.
But they have “free” education and healthcare you say! That is when I start laughing. Lets look at health care shall we? First off, healthcare professionals up there such as doctors will be paid ~$80K to ~$400K with RNs being paid ~$60K to ~$80K. If you need any fancy technology such as MRI, Catscan or whatnot, it is only available in certain larger populated areas. Someone from a remote location needing such tests might need to travel extensively on their dime after a waiting period of several months sometimes as long as a full year. It is not uncommon for people to wait a full day in a waiting room before being seen. Rumors have it it has gotten so bad, some Canadians are now coming to America paying for
So where am I going with this? Well I want to wish you all a superb July 4th yes but by almighty God please think carefully how you spend, where you spend and who you support by spending and by voting. It’s the policies that matter. The person too but the policies are the meat on the bones. November is around the corner. Things aren’t always what they seem and we learned that by discovering we cannot take things at face value anymore. So much more could be said but I’ll stop here.
America is beautiful. America is blessed still. “No lie can live forever” ~Martin Luther King
God bless America and every single soul within.
