Mission: to build a future in which people live in harmony with nature, as the well-being of people, wildlife and the environment are closely linked.

For nearly 60 years, WWF is the leading organization in wildlife conservation and endangered species protection. It is now supported by nearly 5 million members worldwide, working in more than 100 countries. They support around 1,300 conservation and environmental projects and have already invested over $1 billion in more than 12,000 conservation initiatives since 1995. All WWF projects are innovative, collaborative and based on scientific evidence. They focus on the regions and challenges where they can make the biggest difference from the Arctic and the Amazon to responsible fishing. Its current work is organized around these six areas: food, climate, freshwater, wildlife, forests, and oceans.

WWF has launched several notable worldwide campaigns including Earth Hour (annual flashmob encouraging people to turn off non-essential electric lights, for one hour, from 8:30 to 9:30 p. m. on a specific day towards the en d of March, as a symbol of commitment to the planet) and Debt-for-Nature Swap (financial transactions in which a portion of a developing nation's foreign debt is forgiven in exchange for local investments in environmental conservation measures).
