ROB KERN

After working and thriving at a Fortune 500 company, Robert Kern felt it was time to pursue his true passion in real estate. The pandemic presented him with an opportunity to take the plunge. “I had wanted to become an agent for years, so this seemed like the perfect time to make a change,” he explains. Once he earned his license, Robert swiftly transitioned from a part-time to a full-time agent. Joining a team at the same brokerage where he began as a solo agent, Robert found the collaboration to be a game-changer, allowing him more time to focus on his clients. His area of expertise includes the diverse and ever-expanding Roanoke, Virginia, known as the “Big Little City.” Priding itself on a balance between city life and open spaces, Roanoke has experienced significant growth during the pandemic, as people sought refuge from overcrowded metropolitan areas. With a wide range of housing options, Robert is well-equipped to help clients find their perfect home in this unique and vibrant region.

What sets Robert apart as a real estate agent is his dedication to nurturing strong client relationships and fostering organic growth. He believes in staying in touch with his clients. “I love my people,” he explains. “They’re awesome human beings.” This connection-driven approach has led to a steady increase in return and referral business. Entering his fourth year in the industry, Robert’s success is a testament to the power of genuine care and commitment to his clients’ needs.

When it comes to marketing, Robert employs a variety of strategies to ensure maximum exposure for his listings. “We use Facebook campaigns, and our team is in 17 states now, with the goal of being nationwide by the end of 2023, so we’re sharing it throughout the team to get additional exposure that way,” he explains. By leveraging the reach of eXp Realty, the largest brokerage in the world, Robert can tap into a vast network of potential buyers. He also embraces traditional methods such as open houses, while recognizing the importance of online presence. “People are shopping for homes online just like everything else,” he says, acknowledging the significant return on investment that digital marketing provides.

Robert’s community involvement extends beyond his real estate career, as he actively participates in local initiatives and supports various causes. He dedicates time to school-based projects like Project Faith and takes part in charity runs and walks. As an animal lover, he also volunteers at animal shelters alongside his children, driven by their shared passion for the cause. Outside of real estate and community service, Robert enjoys an active lifestyle filled with outdoor activities like cycling, walking on trails, and fishing. Moreover, he cherishes spending quality time with his family, using the flexibility offered by his real estate career to create deeper connections with his loved ones.

As Robert looks to the future, his plans center around growth and mentorship. As the state team leader for Virginia, he is dedicated to fostering ethics and integrity in the real estate industry. By focusing on guiding and developing others, Robert aims to help his team members achieve success in their own businesses, while maintaining a consistent personal production that balances his own aspirations and his commitment to his team. “I love serving others. It brings me so much pride and joy to help people.”
