INTERIOR DESIGN PORTFOLIO FALL 2015
TORA COURSEY Welcome to my portfolio! I am currently a third year student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in interior design and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship at Texas Christian Univeristy in Fort Worth, Texas. TCU is a CIDA accredited school. I believe in creating space with a blend of old and new infused with a modern sensibility, and I hope my work can speak for that. What it might tell you is that I am only starting on my path to finding my own personal design style. Determined and innovative are an understatement for my work ethic. I have taken over 18 hours of classes each semester to complete my dual degree, which I am one of the first TCU students to attempt. The time management skills I have learned by taking all these courses to become an efficient and quick learned while also being thorough. I hope to use my business education to further have an understanding of the finance process that goes into creating a cost effective project that alligns with client expectations. Currently, I am interested in commercial design. I am especially interested in healthcare, biotech, and designing for the elderly.

The mission of the Driftwood Cultural Center is to give attention to the differences within one’s history and bring together a sense of collectiveness. A space to educate the local youth on the importantance of heritage. The name was chosen through understanding what driftwood is, a piece of material shaped and formed through its journey that takes in from its surroundings, and that is what we are looking for visitors to witness at the cultural center. The glass walls that connect the classroom to the café and the theater to the reception work as a reminder to the guest that there we are always a part of one another’s history and culture. Driftwood Heritage Center will also create a connection throughout the community by offering activities and events that all groups and ages of people will be able to enjoy.
