Feb/March 2017 Brunel Manor…..a jewel in our crown We are very lucky to have Brunel Manor in our
area. It was Isambard Kingdom Brunel’s retirement home but he sadly died before he got to live there. It is now a Christian holiday and conference centre. However, it is open to the public and is a beautiful and peaceful place to take time out, walking in the grounds or the woodland or having tea in the tearoom. The tea room reopens on 11th February. Opening times
are from 11am-4pm daily They also offer Sunday lunches (choice of two meats) £7.50. Please pre book a table on 01803 329333. Why not order a glass of wine with your meal or browse through their books and gifts available to purchase.

Ageing Well in Barton, Watcombe and Hele Feeling connected and involved in our community helps us feel good about ourselves, and makes our lives richer and more fulfilling . Sharing our time with people, helps others feel more connected and so we help each other to stay well and happy and to lead as full a life as we are able. Community builders can help you do this, so if you are feeling a bit down or lonely and cut off, do get in touch and we can talk about how you can be more connected to those around you. Community Builder , Theo Tanser 07599 993987

On Mondays from 7pm there's belly dancing which is suitable for all ages and is a very gentle dance form. Newcomers are always welcome. On Tuesdays from 6.15pm, Move & Groove is a class aimed specifically at over 50s disco divas who just love to popular tracks from the past including Grease, Dirty Dancing and Abba. It promises to be 'easy but cheesy'. Also on Tuesdays there's Pilates from 7.30pm, led by our amazing tutor Miranda (a former Bluebell girl!). This class is ideal for strengthening those important core muscles. On Wednesdays there is Lindy Hop at 7.45pm and, although this is a partners dance, people can still attend on their own to join in. It is fun and surprisingly quite easy. The tutors are over 50 and are very friendly. On Thursdays, for those who are agile, SOSA - salsa fitness is designed for ladies to enjoy Latin moves without the need for a partner. This is solo salsa - low impact and great fun. Fitness instructor Monica, affectionately known as Mad Mo, teaches aerobics for seniors and she has two classes a week - Wednesday
