Texas Tech’s Robert H. Ewalt Student Recreation Center currently offers more than 120 group fitness exercise classes addressing one’s unique fitness goals. For adults, the American College of Sports Medicine recommends adults should get 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise per week. Through the group fitness exercises offered at the Rec Center, students can find a way to stay active during their busy schedules. Kami White-Waden, assistant director of fitness and wellness at the Rec Center, teaches cardio water intervals, a group fitness class which raises one’s heart rate as the class progresses.
