Aguirre II, a junior landscaping architecture major from Lubbock and student homecoming coordinator, said. The few events that are always the same, he said, are the homecoming parade, pep rally and bonfire. “They all happen right after each other,” Aguirre said, “and so usually people see the parade. Everybody comes in and they just follow it.” This year the parade will
start at 6 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Lubbock, he said. It will end at the United Supermarkets Arena, and immediately afterward the pep rally will start. After the pep rally, the bonfire will start at the Bonfire Pit, located near 18th Street in between the Robert H. Ewalt Student Recreation Center and the Wiggins Complex, he said.
