Texas Tech students to conduct election survey By JACK DENSMORE Staff Writer

For the first time this season, the offense only scored two touchdowns, and for the first time since the 42-30 loss to Oklahoma on Nov. 15, 2014, the offense did not score at least 50 points at home, according to Tech Athletics.

In the game, junior quarterback Patrick Mahomes II threw for 305 passing yards, one passing touchdown and had one interception in the game. It was the first time this season that Mahomes was limited to one passing touchdown. Sophomore receiver Jonathan Giles had eight receptions, 136 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns, one from Mahomes and one from junior quarterback Nic Shimonek. “I’ve never seen a team play that poorly, coaches coach that poorly and just get embarrassed,” Kingsbury said. “So, I have to apologize to the fans, student body, alumni. In an effort to guess what direction Texas will vote this upcoming presidential election, two political sciences classes have come together to conduct a statewide survey of registered voters to ask who they will vote for.
The survey is going to be over the phone with 40 percent of the calls going to a landlines and the remaining 60 percent to go to cellphones, Sara Norman, a professor of political science and director of the Earl Survey Research Lab, said.
