Որ մեղաւորիս համար մարմնացար, Անպատում գործեր կատարեցիր դու ու շատ հրաշքներ, Մինչեւ հասցրիր կատարելութեան` մարդեղութիւնդ Քո ամենալիր աստուածութեան հետ: Արդ, յանուն երկնաստեղծ ձեռքովդ ձեռնադրուած Եւ քո սուրբ հոգով օծուած սրբազան առաքեալների,Որոնց արժանի գովեստն ես արի մի այլ գրուածքում, ըստ կարողութեանս, Քո փառքի համար, Տէ՜ր ամենայնի,2
Ի՛նձ էլ ողորմես, յիշելով սէրըդ, որին դու նրանց արժանացրիր: Նրանցով ելքի շաւիղ ցոյց տուր ինձ դէպի երանութիւնը փափագելի: Նրանց հովվութեան բարի ձայնը թող քաղցր հնչի ինձ, զերթ կենաց ողջոյն: Անեղծ փրկութեան յոյսի մէջ ե՛ս էլ բաժին ունենամ` Կեանքի առաջնորդների հետ, Պատուի այդ շնորհն առաջին անգամ ստացողների, Փառաւորեալ խմբերի, Բանական գետերի, Բարձրաձայն աւետողների, Պանծալի իշխանների, Լուսապայծառ թագով պճնուածների, Զօրաւոր շնորհի անկապուտ զարդով պայծառացածների, Տիրական լոյսի զուարթարար իւղով կատարեալների հետ: Բ Եւ արդ, ո՜վ բարձրեալ Քրիստոս Աստուած, Մեծ պատուիրանիդ աշակերտների հետ, Յարգելով նրանց աղօթքներն հաճոյ եւ ընդունելի, Եւ արիւնընծայ, վաստականուէր ու քրտնակնդրուկ Աղերսանքները նահատակութեամբ ընտիր ճանաչուած մարտիրոսների, Որոնք մահացու եւ մշտաչարչար մարմնով իրենց, Վտանգաւոր եւ ամենակիր անդամներով, Երկրաւոր եւ հողազանգուած բնութեամբ Բոլոր նիւթեղէն գոյութիւնների ու տարրերի հետ կռիւ մղելով` Պսակուեցին, բարձրացան եւ կենդանացան հոգեպէս, Եւ արիաբար ելնելով երկրից, ըստ մարգարէի, Դարձան ճշմարիտ վկաներ ամենափորձ մահուան, Եւ աշխարհում իսկ նրանք նկատել կարողացան պարզ` 3
Իմանալի, անտեսանելի ու ծածուկ, Բայց եւ աներկբա յոյսով տեսնուող բարիքներն ամէն. Նրանք` աշակերտ եւ չարչարակից առաքեալներին, Իրենց գործերով, կատարեալ լրմամբ նրանց հաւասար` Պարում են հիմա խրախճանքներում, անսահմանափակ երանութեան մէջ,Ընդունիր եւ ի՛նձ, որպէսզի ես էլ նրանց պէս ընդմիշտ Հաստատուեմ քո մէջ անեղծ փրկութեամբ: Գ Նրանց հետ, որոնք արիւնով ներկուած` անցան կրակի ու սրի միջով` Կան քեզ հետեւող, Որդի՛դ Աստծոյ, ե՛ւ սրբակենցաղ հայրեր մենակեաց, Որոնք անպարտելի քաջութեամբ եւ անպատիր զգաստութեամբ Արիաբար մարտնչելով դժնյա եւ գոռոզ մարմնի բռնութեան դէմ, Անմարմին Բելիարին հալածեցին. Եւ աշխարհային կեանքի ասպարիզում, մշտամարտ մրցութեամբ, Առանց ծանրաբեռնուածութեան տաղտկութեան, Լայնածաւալ աշխարհի ալեծուփ ծովից Թռցնելով թեթեւ հոգիներն իրենց մարմնի ծանր տապանակով` Նաւահանգի՜ստն հասան կեանքի. Եւ, որպէս վերին վիճակի սիրահարներ, առանց հետինների վրայ մտածելու, Յաղթանակի թագն իրենց գլուխը դրին համարձակօրէն, Պճնուած իսկապէս պայծառ ճոխութեամբ: Այդ սուրբ հայրերի աղօթքներով արժանաւոր եւ խնդրանքներով նուիրական, Նրանց հետ` քեզ մօտ ընդունիր նաեւ ինձ` մեղաւորիս: 4
Դ Արդ, վերոյիշեալ երջանիկների փառաբանական աղերսների հետ, Որոնք ինձ համար են գոչում, բարձրեա՜լ, քեզ ի հաճութիւն, Ահա ես էլ իմ անմաքուր խօսքերն եմ խառնում` այնպէս, Ինչպէս քաղցրութեան հետ տրուած դառնութիւն, Կամ փուշ` փափկութեան հետ, Տգեղութիւն` վայելչութեան հետ, Տիղմ` գեղեցիկ մարգարտի հետ, Կամ հող` զուտ ոսկու հետ, Կամ անարժէք քարեր` պայծառ արծաթի հետ, Բացասութիւն ճշմարտութեան հետ, Կամ ատամնառու աւազ` հացի փափուկ զանգուածի հետ: Արդ, լսիր, հզօ՛ր, ձեռնհաս, գովեալ, Նրանցը ինձ համար, իմը նրանց, Նրանց ի գովեստ, ինձ ի փրկութիւն` քո փառքի համար, Ամենագութ, բարերար, օրհնեալ եւ երկայնամիտ, Կարող, անքնին, անեղծ, անստեղծ եւ անճառելի, Քոնն են պարգեւներն ու շնորհները, Դու ես սկիզբն ու պատճառը բոլոր բարութիւնների: Ե Չե՛ս դատապարտիչ, այլ ազատարար. Չե՛ս դու կորուսիչ, այլ գտնող. Չե՛ս մահացուցիչ, այլ ապրեցնող. Չե՛ս տարագրիչ, այլ ժողովող. Չե՛ս մատնիչ, այլ փրկող. Չե՛ս ընկղմիչ, այլ վեր հանող. Չե՛ս գլորիչ, այլ կանգնեցնող. Չե՛ս անիծիչ, այլ օրհնող. Չե՛ս վրիժառու, այլ ներող. Չե՛ս թշուառացուցիչ, այլ մխիթարող. 5
Չե՛ս ջնջում դու, այլ գրում ես. Չե՛ս սասանեցնում, այլ հաստատում. Չե՛ս ոտնահարում, այլ սփոփում. Չե՛ս յօրինում դու պատճառներ մահուան, այլ հնարներ ես փնտրում կենաց. Չե՛ս ձգտում սատակեցնելու, այլ փրկելու ողորմածաբար: Չե՛ս մոռանում այցելութիւնդ, Չե՛ս լքում բարին. Չե՛ս արգելում գթութիւնդ. Չե՛ս տալիս վճիռ կորստեան, այլ ազատութեան կտակ: Չե՛ս թշնամանւում առատաձեռնութեանդ համար, Եւ շնորհներիդ համար չես բամբասւում. Չե՛ս հայհոյւում պարգեւներիդ համար, Եւ ձրի ընծաներիդ համար չես նախատւում. Չես անգոսնւում երկայնամտութեանդ համար, Եւ ներելուդ համար չես պարսաււում. Չես բանսարկւում բարութեանդ համար, Եւ քաղցրութեանդ համար չես անպատււում. Չես արհամարհւում հեզութեանդ համար: Եւ սրանց համար ոչ թէ տրտունջներ, Այլ անլռելի գոհաբանութիւններ են առաքւում քեզ: Վերցրու մեղքերս, հզօ՛ր. Լուծիր անէծքներս, օրհնեա՜լ. Քաւիր պարտքերս, ողորմա՛ծ. Ջնջիր յանցանքներս, գթա՛ծ. Օգնիր ինձ մատովդ, եւ իսկոյն պիտի լինեմ կատարեալ. Ի՞նչ կայ քեզ համար, Տէ՛ր իմ, սրանցից աւելի դիւրին, Եւ մեղապարտիս համար աւելի կարեւորագոյն: Ուստի քո ստեղծած պատկերիս վրայ, ո՜վ բարեխնամ, Կենդանագրի՛ր դու նորոգող դարձեալ եւ լուսաւորող Մաքրագործ շնորհիդ փչումն շնչի, Բազմամեղ հոգին իմ պաշտպանելով: 6
Զ Մի՛ արագացնի, ողորմա՜ծ, կարճ ժամանակում, օրս տարաժամ, Որ չլինի թէ անպաշար ու ձեռնունայն ընկնեմ ես երկար ու անվերջ ճամփայ. Մի՛ տար ինձ բաժակ դառնութեամբ լեցուն` ծարաւած ժամին. Մի՛ փակիր իմ դէմ յաջողութիւնը հոգեւոր օգտիս, Եւ հանկարծադէպ ասպատակների նման ահաւոր` Թող չպատահի մահուան գիշերն ինձ. Տապը տոթակեզ, անպատրաստ պահին, թող չկտրատի արմատներս ու չչորացնի, Ոչ էլ լուսնական դիպուածները թող վրաս հասնելով` գաղտնի վնասեն. Թող իմ մէջ մեղքի սառոյց չպահուի, Ոչ էլ աշխարհիկ կեանքի ուղխերի հոսանքները ինձ ողողեն, տանեն, Թող որ հանգիստն ինձ մահ չբերի, Եւ ոչ էլ նինջը սատակման առաջնորդի. Թող քունն ինձ կորստեան պատճառ չլինի, Եւ ոչ էլ նիրհը ապականութիւն առաջ բերի. Թող որ վախճանը անպատեհ ժամի չարշաւի վրաս, Եւ ոչ էլ շունչս վեր բարձրանալիս` ցած ընկնի ինչ-որ արգելքի առած: Է Դո՛ւ ես Տէր, դո՛ւ գթած, դո՛ւ բարերար, Դո՛ւ երկայնամիտ, դո՛ւ ամենակարող, Դո՛ւ անճառօրէն զօրաւոր` ամէն անյուսութեան, Քաւելու, փրկելու, կենագործելու, Լուսաւորելու եւ վերստին ամրացնելու, Գազանների գիշատիչ ժանիքներից կամ վիշապների ատամներից ի կեանս կորզելու, 7
Խոր անդունդներից բերկրալից լոյսին բերելու, Եւ մեղքի հորձանքներում խեղդուելուց ազատելով` Երջանիկ արդարների հետ փառքով բազմեցնելու: Ամենայն հոգի ակնկալու յոյսով քեզ է սպասում կարօտ քո շնորհին, Թէ՛ երկնայինները եւ թէ՛ երկրաւորները, Թէ՛ մեղքով ընկածները եւ թէ՛ արդարութեամբ ոտքի ելածները, Թէ՛ տէր, թէ՛ ծառայ, թէ՛ տիրուհի եւ թէ՛ աղախին. Եւ քո ձեռքումն է բոլորի կենդանական շունչը: Եւ քեզ` Հօր եւ սուրբ Հոգու հետ` փա՜ռք յաւիտեանս. ամէն: ԱՂՕԹՔ Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա: Յիսո՛ւս Փրկիչ, պահէ՛ մեզ պատրաստ եւ արթուն, որպէսզի չըլլայ թէ մեղքը մեր վրայ յարձակելով ապականէ մեր հոգիները, որուն համար Դուն մեռար: Յիսո՛ւս Քրիստոս, պահէ՛ մեզ պատրաստ եւ արթուն, որպէսզի երբ Դուն խօսիս, կարենանք ըսել, «Խօսէ՛, Տէ՛ր, քանզի Քու ծառադ մտիկ կ’ընէ»: Յիսո՛ւս Թագաւոր Փառաց, պահէ՛ մեզ պատրաստ եւ արթուն, ծառայելու Քու թագաւորութեանդ եւ քաջ զինուորի մը նման մեր կեանքերը ի սպաս դնելու, Ամէն: ԱՒԵՏԱՐԱՆ ԸՍՏ ՂՈՒԿԱՍՈՒ 11: 14- 23 Յիսուս կը հանէր դեւ մը՝ որ համր էր: Երբ դեւը դուրս ելաւ՝ համրը խօսեցաւ, եւ բազմութիւնները սքանչացան: Բայց անոնցմէ ոմանք ըսին. «Ան դեւերու Բէեղզեբուղ իշխանին միջոցով կը հանէ դեւերը»: Ուրիշներ ալ՝ փորձելու համար՝ կը խնդրէին իրմէ նշան մը երկինքէն: Բայց ինք գիտնալով անոնց 8
մտածումները՝ ըսաւ անոնց. «Ինքնիր դէմ բաժնուած որեւէ թագաւորութիւն՝ կ՚աւերի, եւ տուն մը ինքնիր դէմ բաժնուած՝ կը փլչի: Հապա եթէ Սատանա՛ն ինքնիր դէմ բաժնուած է, անոր թագաւորութիւնը ի՞նչպէս պիտի կենայ. որովհետեւ կ՚ըսէք թէ Բէեղզեբուղո՛վ կը հանեմ դեւերը: Իսկ եթէ ես Բէեղզեբուղով կը հանեմ դեւերը, ձեր որդինե՛րը ինչո՞վ կը հանեն. ուստի անո՛նք պիտի ըլլան ձեր դատաւորները: Բայց եթէ ես Աստուծո՛յ մատով կը հանեմ դեւերը, ուրեմն Աստուծոյ թագաւորութիւնը հասած է ձեր վրայ: Երբ ուժեղ մարդ մը՝ զէնքերը վրան առած՝ պահպանէ իր տան գաւիթը, անոր ինչքը կը մնայ խաղաղութեան մէջ: Բայց երբ իրմէ աւելի ուժեղը յարձակի վրան ու յաղթէ անոր, կը գրաւէ անոր զէնքերը՝ որոնց ան վստահած էր, եւ կը բաշխէ իրմէ առած կողոպուտը: Ա՛ն որ ինծի հետ չէ՝ ինծի հակառակ է, եւ ա՛ն որ ինծի հետ չի հաւաքեր՝ կը ցրուէ»: ԲԺՇԿՈՒԹԵԱՆ ԱՂՕԹՔ Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա: Փարատէ՛ ցաւերը եւ բժշկէ՛ հիւանդութիւնները քու ժողովուրդէդ, Տէր Աստուած մեր եւ բոլորին կատարեալ առողջութի՛ւն շնորհէ` Քու ամենայաղթ խաչիդ նշանով, որուն միջոցով մարդկութեան տկարութիւնը վերցուցիր եւ դատապարտեցիր մեր կեանքի եւ փրկութեան թշնամին: Դուն ես մեր կեանքն ու փրկութիւնը, բարերար եւ բազումողորմ Աստուած. միայն Դո՛ւ կրնաս ներել մեր մեղքերը եւ մեզմէ հեռացնել ախտերն ու հիւանդութիւնները. Քեզի յայտնի են մեր կարիքները: Բարիքներ պարգեւող, առատ ողորմութիւնդ պարգեւէ՛ քու արարածներուդ՝ իւրաքանչիւրին ըստ իր պէտքին, 9
որովհետեւ արարածներուդ միջոցով միշտ կը գովաբանուի Ամենասուրբ Երրորդութիւնդ. Այժմ եւ միշտ եւ յաւիտեանս յաւիտենից. ամէն: ՔԱՐՈԶ Սուրբ Խաչով Տիրոջը աղաչենք, որպէսզի սրանով փրկէ մեզ մեղքերէն եւ Իր ողորմութեան շնորհով պահէ մեզ: Ամենակալ Տէր Աստուած մեր, ապրեցու՛ր եւ ողորմէ՛: ՊԱՀՊԱՆՈՒԹԵԱՆ ԱՂՕԹՔ Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա, Տէր ողորմեա: Պահպանիչ եւ հաւատացեալներու յոյս, Քրիստոս Աստուած մեր, պահէ պահպանէ եւ օրհնէ Հայոց ազգը եւ Հայաստանեայց Եկեղեցին. LORD’S PRAYER Blessed be our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. READING: FROM MADYAN VOGHPERKOUTYAN (NAREG) Prayer 82 Speaking with God from the Depths of the Heart A Lord God, doer of good, generous king, refuge of life, form of light, spacious place of repose, who for the sake of sinners like me came, took the form of man accomplishing things beyond telling and performed miracles, even perfecting our humanity with the fullness of your divinity. Now for the holy apostles, whom you ordained with your heavenly hand, and anointed by your Holy Spirit, whose deserving praises I have sung 12
as much as I could for your glory, Lord of all, in another work. Have mercy upon me in the memory of your chosen. Through them prepare for me a way to the most desired bliss. May the voice of these good shepherds be heard beckoning me sweetly to eternal life. May I partake of the jubilant hope of everlasting salvation with the lives of our leaders, the first to be graced with this honor, the glorified choir, the spiritual rivers, the sublime evangelists, the illustrious princes, those with sparkling crowns, and those adorned in the untarnished brilliant radiance of the strength of grace, yes, those who have been made perfect with the oil of gladness, your lordly light. B Together with your disciples, Christ God on high, and the self-sacrifice of your chosen martyrs, who through mortification and torments of the flesh, and peril to life and limb and all manner of suffering, and who despite their earthly nature struggled against every element of material existence to win halos, transcending and reborn in spirit, courageously. They departed this world, as the prophets said, as true witnesses to the trials and tribulations of death. They comprehended the unequivocal good, unseen and hidden, 13
even in this world with the hope of things seen. The disciples of the apostles and their companions in suffering are also equal to them in their works and in their consummate and utter perfection are jubilant with endless bliss. By their pleasing and acceptable pleading, honoring their prayers as a blood-drenched sacrifice of dedicated service offered with the incense of sweat, accept me again to share their lot and be established in you with everlasting salvation. C Though a sinner deserving of punishment, accept me, together with those who fight with fire and sword, covered in blood, and together with the holy ascetics, hermit fathers, and your other followers, Son of God, all who with invincible bravery and undistracted vigilance, have courageously struggled against the baseness of the body and fended off the bodiless Satan. In the perpetual battlefield of our earthly life without being worn down upon the waves of this expansive worldly sea, despite the heaviness of their bodily ark, they sent their souls soaring in lightness, reaching the safe haven of eternal life. And like those who love the celestial realm, truly and boldly, without reservations, they have crowned themselves with the tiara of victory, adorned with brilliant gems. 14
By grace of their worthy prayers and dedicated supplications, accept me too. D Mixing my impure words with the glorious prayers of the blessed, who for my sake call out to you in a pleasing manner, I too call out with them, sour notes amidst the sweet, thorns amidst the smoothness, ugliness amidst splendor, filth amidst glistening diamonds, impurities amidst pure gold, worthless rocks amidst silver, contradictions amidst the truth, grains of sand amidst the soft bread. Listen, mighty, ingenious, praised, Lord, to their prayers for me and mine for them, for their praise, my salvation, and for your glory, O Lord, all-compassionate, doer of good, blessed, long-suffering, potent, beyond understanding, beyond words, incorruptible and uncreated. Yours are the gifts, and yours is grace. You are the beginning and cause of all good. E You are not the accuser, but the liberator, not the destroyer, but the rescuer, not the executioner, but the savior, not the scatterer, but the gatherer, not the traitor, but the deliverer. You do not pull down, but lift up. 15
You do not knock down, but stand upright. You do not curse, but bless. You do not take revenge, but give grace. You do not torment, but comfort. You do not erase, but write. You do not shake, but steady. You do not trample, but console. You do not invent the causes of death, but seek the means to preserve life. You do not forget to help. You do not abandon the good. You do not withhold compassion. You do not bring the sentence of death, but the legacy of life. You are not opposed for your generosity. You are not blasphemed for your grace. You are not cursed for your bounty. You are not insulted for your free gifts. You are not mocked for your patience. You are not blamed for your pardon. You are not accused for your goodness. You are not dishonored for your sweetness. You are not despised for your meekness. For these, we send not complaints, but gratitude that cannot be silenced. Take away my sins, Almighty. Remove the curse from me, blessed. Pardon my debts, merciful. Erase my transgressions, compassionate. Extend your hand of deliverance and I will instantly be made perfect. What is easier than this for you Lord, and what is more important to you? 16
Thus, providential Lord, revive me made in your image and brought to life by your breath in order to renew the breath of your pure enlightening grace, protecting my sinful soul. F Do not dispatch me, merciful Lord, before my time. Do not let me depart this life empty-handed, before my journey is accomplished. Do not offer me the cup of bitterness in my time of thirst. Do not block me, compassionate Lord, from the path of doing good, and do not permit the nightfall of death to overtake me like a band of thieves in a sudden ambush. May the feverish heat of the sun at an unexpected moment not cut off and dry up my roots forever. And may the lunacy of the moon, arriving in secret, not cause harm. May rest not bring death and slumber not lead to slaughter. May sleep not destroy me and may drowsiness not corrupt me. May my death not strike me at an inappropriate moment. And may the release of my spirit upward not be cast down. G You are the Lord, you are compassionate, you are the doer of good. You are patient and almighty. 17
In all things you are strong beyond comprehension and words to pardon, to save, to grant life, to enlighten, to establish anew, to snatch from the jaws of ferocious beasts, or from the teeth of dragons and restore life, to lead from the depths of the abyss to the light of bliss, and from drowning in the waves of sin to be seated among the righteous with the glory of the blessed. Every soul awaits you with hope and expectation, longing for your grace, whether heavenly or earthly, whether fallen in sin or exalted with righteousness, whether master or servant, whether lady or maid. GOSPEL ACCORDING TO LUKE: 11: 14- 23 Jesus was driving out a demon that was mute. When the demon left, the man who had been mute spoke, and the crowd was amazed. But some of them said, “By Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he is driving out demons.” Others tested him by asking for a sign from heaven. Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them: “Any kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and a house divided against itself will fall. If Satan is divided against himself, how can his kingdom stand? I say this because you claim that I drive out demons by Beelzebul. Now if I drive out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your followers drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the finger of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you. “When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own house, his possessions are safe. But when someone stronger attacks and overpowers him, he takes away the armor in which the man trusted and divides up his plunder. “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters. PRAYER FOR THE SICK Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy Dispel the pain and heal the sickness of thy people, Lord our God and grant to all perfect health by the sign of thine all-conquering cross through which thou removed the weakness of mankind and condemned the enemy of our life and salvation. Thou art our life and salvation, beneficent and all merciful God, who alone can forgive us our sins and remove diseases and sickness from us, to whom are known our needs and necessities.
