GREETINGS From your Lieutenant Governor Hello Division 27, Happy graduation! Congrats on finishing another year of school! For some of us this is our last year of high school, while for others this is only the start of their journey. To the graduating seniors: continue your journey in service by joining your university’s Circle K, or if there is none your area’s Kiwanis. To the returning underclassmen: continue serving your best in Key Club! Whether you are an incoming senior or an incoming freshman, lets look forward to the coming year and give our best! This summer, PNW Key Clubbers will have plenty of opportunities to rekeynect with friends from all over the district. Summer Rallies will be taking place so that Key Clubbers from their respective regions can gather to attend officer training, service project workshops, and listen to inspirational speakers. Seattle Rally will be taking place in the month of August. Details are still being finalized, so be sure to stay tuned for more info coming soon! Also remember that even though clubs will be on summer status, we need to retain our connections with the District and our K-Family branches. This means that you need to stay connected with your sponsoring Kiwanis Club and make sure that you still carry out your duties over the summer! If you are ever feeling stressed out, or need any help feel free to contact me! I’m here as your resource, so please reach out if you ever need any help. With love and in caring service,

Josh Kim

Lieutenant Governor, Division 27 3

GREETINGS From your District Appointees Stumbling into that first key club meeting as a confused sophomore was undoubtedly one of the best decisions I've ever made - one that has led to a myriad of amazing encounters, countless hours of devoted service, and an innumerable amount of lifeshaping experiences. I'm so excited to be able to give back to this club which has provided me with so much! On the off chance that I'm not busy pouring my heart into Key Club, I'm probably enjoying science, friends, or cookie crisp. I truly can't wait for what will surely be the best year ever! \_(ăƒ„)_/ÂŻ

Anav Gagneja Communications Director, Division 44 How's it going, Key Clubbers? My name is Tina Sok and I have been blessed with the opportunity to be appointed as your K-Family Relations and International Projects Director! I am extremely excited to work with the district board this year AND to meet all of you! As your K-Fam/Int. Projects Director, I plan to significantly improve the relationships and communication between Key Club members and the K-Family branches. In this upcoming year, my plans include district wide events that allow Circle K, Kiwanis, and many more K-Family members to join together and share our love for service. These events will be put on in support of our preferred charities which will allow more K-Family members to join our cause! I am looking forward to a fun-filled and fantastic year with you all. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Tina Sok K-Family Relations Director, Division 34 Hey Key Clubbers, we have a single year left. In 2015 The Kiwanis family will turn 100 and The Eliminate Project will come to a close. Maternal /Neonatal tetanus is not waiting for us to act. We must fight quickly and together. Now that I sound like a dictator, I want to make sure you know me! I am Ben Scranage, your 2014-2015 District Projects Director. I want to work with each and every one of your clubs to make sure that the Pacific Northwest reaches their goal of fifty thousand dollars this Key Club Year! I promise you that even though I live in the small town of Harrisburg, Oregon, just outside of Eugene, I will be there for any of your questions at any time of the day. Reach out and don't feel like a stranger.

Ben Scranage District Project Director, Division 74 Hello, my name is Suvir and I am your Membership Growth and Reactivation Director! I'm really interested in programming and making things/engineering, which I'd like to use to make a positive impact in the world and on the lives of others. I really love being part of an organization that is making such a huge difference in the world with the help of so many other people.

Suvir Copperam Membership Growth and Reactivation Director, Division 28

GREETINGS From your District Convention Team

CLEO TSANG CONVENTION CHAIR – DIVISION 32 Hey PNW! My name is Cleo Tsang and I'm currently a junior at Kentridge High School from D32 and throughout my high school career I have served as a class rep, historian (it's a position ok), vice-president, Convention Aide, and now Convention Chair! This year, I will be in charge of planning the 66th Annual District Convention and honestly, I am so excited! I hope that this will be the best convention ever! My Key Club journey so far has been nothing short of amazing, and I owe so much to this district. But aside from Key Club, I like tennis, bread, potatoes, coffee ice cream and hippos. I am also a part of DECA, NHS, Robotics, ASB, and my local youth group. I am so honored and grateful to be serving as the Convention Chair and I hope to make you guys proud!

JAG BAINS CONVENTION AIDE – DIVISION 9 Hey! I'm Jag and I'm your convention aide! I'm really ecstatic to be on the board and ready to put on the best DCON ever! I'm a runner and I love listening to music! Most of my free time is spent on going to all of my home key club's service projects..because, well...Key Club is life! My favorite color is aquamarine and I'm super random and charismatic with most anything! I look forward to becoming best friends with all of you Key Clubbers! Agapé!

RYAN MIURA CONVENTION AIDE – DIVISION 66 Hello PNW! I’m Ryan Miura and I’m one of your Convention Aides this year who will help plan the 66th annual District Convention. Key Club has had a huge impact on who I am, and I hope I can continue to grow and learn from my experiences as a part of the K-Family. I love trees, cats, and meeting my fellow PNW Key Clubbers so holla at me if you happen to see me and want to talk! I’m pumped to represent the most loving and spirited division around, Division 66, so let’s work together to have a great year of service! 5

MAY JOINT DCM RECAP

Photo Credits: Brian Le, Lieutenant Governor of Division 66

Saturday, May 31st – Gene Coulon Park Divisions 22/24, 26, 27, 28, 32, 33, 34, 35

Eight Seattle area Key Club divisions came together on May 31st to hold our joint Divisional Council Meeting. Our event was so big that we had a number of special guests with us. The District Governor (from our very own sister division) Lisa Antonio, District Convention Chair Cleo Tsang, past district board members (including our every own IP Lieutenant Governor Ashley Yoo) and some Lieutenant Governors with clubbers from Oregon were in attendance. A few festivities were held in an effort to raise money for the continuing district project, Project: Eliminate. We held a collective miracle minute, Division 28 held root beer float sales, and of course we sold water balloons to throw at all of the district board members that were present. After endless hours of counting money, we are proud to report that the May Joint DCM raised $654.83 for the Eliminate Project! This translates into 364 lives saved! Good job Key Clubbers!

JUNE DCM WHERE:

Juanita Beach Park 9703 NE Juanita Dr. Kirkland, WA 98034 WHEN: Tuesday, June 24th | 3pm-4pm WHO: Anyone in Key Club is welcome! WHAT: This will be a more casual and laid back meeting. We will be close to downtown Kirkland so feel free to socialize in one of the coffee shops afterwards! I will be going over committee creation, chartering of Builders Clubs, and further resources to help you through your term.

Slavery was abolished in America nearly two hundred years ago in 1865. However, it still exists not only in third world countries, but also within the comfort of America. In fact, it’s one of the fastest growing crimes in the world. With over 5.5 million children in the trafficking industry, and only 0.4% victims identified, Redlight Traffic works around the clock to save these innocent children in need. Join other Key Clubbers and #riseup against human trafficking.

Circle K International (CKI) is the premier collegiate and university community service, leadership development, and friendship organization in the world. With more than 12,600 members in 17 nations, CKI is making a positive impact on the world every day. Circle K clubs are organized and sponsored by a Kiwanis club on a college or university campus. CKI is a self-governing organization and elects its own officers, conducts its own meetings, and determines its own service activities. CKI blends community service and leadership training with the opportunity to meet other college students around the world. Projects such as the Six Cents Initiative, CKI’s International fundraiser that aims to provide water to the 2.2 billion children worldwide who lack safe drinking water, bring CKI members together to make a difference in the world. In the past year, the PNW District has more than tripled the district goal! However, that doesn’t mean that this is the end. With the Eliminate Project officially coming to a close in 2015, there is still a long way to go until the KFamily reaches the $110 million mark!

Keep up the good work!
