Club Updates This month at LW Key Club, we got our serve on! One event from this month was with Tent City. We prepared and served a meal to the folks who were living in Tent City located in a nearby church. This organization helps give people a second chance by providing a place to live, food, and even a job within the Tent City. We were so lucky to have participated with this organization. This month LW Key Club also helped at our local park cleanups that are held in our community, and trick-or-treated in support of Unicef. As we gear up for many more service projects to come, our officers would like to thank our Kiwanis members who have made everything in our club possible!

November means Key Club month! What a whirlwind of activities the ICS Key Club has done so far! First, we partnered with National Honors Society to put on a Haunted Halls event right in our school! Actors dressed up as zombies, clowns, and mad scientists and scared students silly! We raised over $1300 for UNICEF, and some proceeds will go to victims of Hurricane Sandy. This amount will be matched by Kirkland Kiwanis, and that amount will be matched by Kiwanis International: overall, a nice chunk of change for some people in need! Great job everyone! Secondly, our annual Thanksgiving canned food drive for Hopelink is on through November 16th. Our goal is 500 cans. We've had some trouble getting donations, so we're going to up our advertising and hope for the best! Nobody should go hungry on Thanksgiving. Let's keep up the hard work! Alright, well so far Eastlake’s Key Club has been doing very well this year. We have hosted various community service events, including The Haunted House at Beaver Lake, to tutoring during homeroom, and working at the Eastlake Holiday Bazaar. Also, our Key Club has decided to not only keep account of community service of the members in Key Club, but anyone who is doing community service period. What this means is that anyone who is doing community service can get hours recorded so they can have an official track of their community service. Looking towards the future, Eastlake Key Club’s website is constantly being updated with brand new community service events and we have been retaining many of our members between each and every meeting, while there is still a lot to do, Eastlake has had a very good start to this year.

What is Project Educate? Project Educate is 2012-2013 district project of the Pacific Northwest District. The funds raised from the Project Educate initiative will be used to aid in furthering the educational development of three schools on the island of Jamaica, as well as fund 160 scholarships for primary school children entering high school.

Merchandise One way we will be raising money for Project Educate is by selling t-shirts and wristbands. The T-shirts will be $15 and the wristbands $1.
