Saudi is an under-discovered destination offering 6 UNESCO World Heritage sites, over 10,000 archaeological sites, the pristine Red Sea, the mountainous Asir region, home to Rijal Almaa which was voted a UNWTO ‘best tourism village’ in 2021 among much more! As the country diversifies its industry away from oil production, under its ambitious Vision 2030 plan, it hopes to bring over 100 million visitors and increase tourism GDP to 10%.

Throughout MEET THE BIDDER, Ms. Katarzyna Czajka, representing Saudi Arabia in Poland, conducted many positive meetings with Polish suppliers.

Also taking place throughout the day were ‘Bingo sessions for exhibitors, with wonderful prizes on offer.

The Westin BonVoy provided a wonderful networking lunch and with a special Jubilee party in the evening, kicked off with a traditional Greek meze, sponsored by the Greek National Tourism Organisation at the Greek restaurant ‘Olivos’ located in the new trendy area of Warsaw, ‘Browary Warszawskie’ converted from an old brewery site into a lively place to meet and enjoy an evening out with many bars and restaurants.

The following morning in the warm sunshine, a local guide took a group around the stunning old city of Warsaw, which has been completely rebuilt following its destruction during WW2. It stands as a testament to the strength of Poland in the centre of Europe and it is not surprising it attracts millions of visitors to enjoy the street entertainment, the coffee shops, square, churches and traditional Polish cuisine.

At its heart is Rynek Starego Miasta Square with its colourful buildings and famous Warsaw Mermaid Statue along with picturesque narrow cobbled streets with decorative facades. This rounded off an exceptional and indeed very successful Jubilee edition of MEET THE BIDDER 2022.
