TOURISM INDUSTRY Needs 3 Years to Recover

The tourism industry was hit badly by the health crisis and as a result it will need at least 3 years to recover across Europe. There are still many hotels that feel they cannot open until 2023 if they are to run properly.

Some destinations are seeing a quicker recovery than others, but with the Ukraine conflict, staff shortages, soaring fuel prices and the high cost of living, many supplies cannot afford to operate, combined with many holidaymakers choosing to not go on holiday this year, making the recovery slower than expected. There is still limited air connectivity together with flight diversions to avoid certain airspace, making journeys longer and ultimately more expensive.
