JASPER’S BEST RESTAURANTS

TASTE THE ROCKIES

From hearty breakfasts to romantic dinners to friendly pubs to charming food tours, discover the unique dining experiences within this authentic mountain town.

If hunger is the world’s best sauce, outdoor exploration can turn any dish gourmet. But a meal prepared by one of Jasper’s talented chefs will elevate any meal to something truly memorable.

For years, Jasper’s family-friendly culinary scene has helped travellers fuel up for adventure. But whether you’re preparing for a big hike or savouring the simple pleasures with a scenic view, there’s always space at our table and an extra s’more stick to share.

Jasper is itself a gastronomic curiosity. Cuisines from across Canada and the world mix and mingle in this northern pocket of the Rocky Mountains. The resulting melting pot of flavours, combined with Jasper’s off-the-beaten-path location has helped to foster the town’s community-oriented culinary traditions, which date back to the early days when a tardy cargo train meant no new food so local families grouped their rations to create meals for all. Today, many restaurants continue the tradition of sponsoring community dinners.

Those with dietary limitations or preferences will find many options throughout town. If visiting in the summer, reservations are often recommended. So are patios – perfect for people-watching. Regional produce and protein are often prioritized, but with inventive twists that speak to a global audience. So pull up a chair and get ready to dig in.

APRÈS-SKI

Take part in the revered mountain town tradition of après-ski . After shredding the slopes (or returning from some other wintery adventure) relive the day’s highlight reel over bevvie’s and comfort food. Still on the hill? Marmot Basin’s two on-mountain chalets are usually open until 3:30pm.
