Table of Contents Camrose's allure and vitality are rarely rivaled…and this dynamic and warmhearted community nestled in central Alberta just begs to be discovered! The City has a population of over 18,000 and a trading area of over 140,000. The Camrose County, population of approximately 8,000, surrounds the City on all four sides. The top five largest ancestries for the area are Scandinavian, German, English, Scottish, and Irish. Both CNR and CPR provide daily rail service, and Highways 13, 21 and 26, and Secondary 833 lead directly to Camrose. The City has a certified airport with a paved, lighted runway over 4,000 metres (4,500 ft. ) long. Plus the Edmonton International Airport is only 72 km (46 miles) away. The Camrose region is committed to the preservation and protection of natural park areas, a clean and healthy environment, and to the safety of all residents. Citizens take pride in the tremendous natural corridors that provide picturesque backdrops for the City's and County's extensive outdoor parks and recreational grounds. The Camrose region is vibrant and alive…offering arts and culture, sports and recreation, and numerous festivals and events. A passionate entrepreneurial spirit thrives here; as a result, you can always count on exceptional, friendly service from our many specialty retailers. It's no wonder Camrose has earned the enviable reputation of being one of the 'nicest' areas in
Western Canada!

Did you know? Purple Martin females lay an average of 5 pure white eggs, one egg early each morning for several successive days, then incubation begins and lasts for 14-16 days. Purple Martins now need human intervention to provide safe nesting sites, as their preferred natural choices of holes in dead standing trees are no longer easily available. Camrose citizens have significantly increased the number of these beautiful social birds to nest in our community. Join us at the Purple Martin Festival to learn how you can help. 21
