Hall Together Now Chef-driven food halls are shaking up the culinary scene in Toronto with fresh and fast handcrafted food in casual, social settings. Here are just some of the experiences you can taste while exploring the city.

In late 2018, Holt Renfrew will open a new Colette Grand Café at its Yorkville retail location, celebrating the essence of sophisticated French style in a casual-elegant Mediterranean dining experience. While the theme is a well-guarded secret, the eatery will occupy the entire third floor of the restaurant’s existing multi-level downtown building. Fresh and local are the calling cards at Craft Beer Market, where a huge selection of crafted beverages is offered

alongside fresh local fare. The restaurant gives generously to community programs and sources its goods responsibly. Groups of up to 400 can gather in their large space with semi-private dining room and seasonal patio. Amano Pasta at Union Station is a hopping new eatery offering fresh, homemade pasta and take-away baked goods and sandwiches, made fresh with local ingredients. The elegant and efficient space can accommodate 100, and it often does; especially at aperitivo hour when a one-price cheese and meat plate and buck-an-ounce wine draw crowds.

Eataly—the acclaimed international Italian food market—opens its first Canadian location in 2019 in the heart of Toronto’s stylish Yorkville neighbourhood. The vibrant Italian food marketplace will feature a mix of food markets, restaurants and eateries spanning 50,000 sq. ft. over three stories. Waterworks Food Hall, a heritage redevelopment project opening in 2020, will feature a 20,000-sq.-ft. Europeanstyle market hall. OpenText Enterprise World 2017 OpenText Enterprise World is among the largest technology conferences in the industry. After holding the event in various U.S. cities, the organization felt it was time to return home to Toronto for the 2017 and the 2018 events, according to OpenText’s senior global event manager, Jasmine Cargioli, and senior corporate event planner Shawna Creen. As Canada’s largest software company, OpenText holding its biggest ever event in Toronto was like a homecoming celebration last year. This unique event attracted more than 5,000 customers, industry thought leaders and technology professionals in 2017. Organizers expect an even bigger turnout in 2018. The 2018 event will be held July 10–12, and will return to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Cargioli and Creen shared more details about what makes Toronto the ideal venue for Enterprise World. Great Facilities: “At the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, we found something that really worked for us last year,” Cargioli says. “It has the meeting space that we need, all under one roof, and there is room to expand as we look to grow year-over-year.
