DOWNTOWN PUBLIC ART TOUR Walk through downtown Mississauga’s unique outdoor art gallery, featuring public art by emerging and renowned artists from around the globe. Check out Mississauga's complete permanent and temporary public art collection at mississauga.ca/publicart
h Try to find all 30 birds around the cupola at the entry to the Central Library and Mississauga Celebration Square. This new work, Conference at the Council House, reminds us that we walk on ancestral lands of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. It recognizes our diverse population and the importance of reconciliation with Indigenous communities.
g Look across the Square to spot The Book: a large steel sculpture with pages that flutter, while a single page dances away in the wind. Created by artist Ilan Sandler, the piece was donated to the City by the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
MY FAVOURITE SPOT! I love seeing all these pops of artwork around the city! — Andrea K. f Look for colourful utility boxes adorned with historic images and photos by local artists, as part of Mississauga Arts Council’s Boxes and Banners program. 68 DISCOVERMISSISSAUGA.CA

l Walk along Burnhamthorpe Road to Hurontario Street to the base of the curvy Absolute World Towers (locals call it Marilyn Monroe Towers) and you’ll find Buen Amigo or “Good Friend” by artist Francisco Gazitua. The statue of three horses honours the past and present aspects of this intersection.
f Look down as you cross at the intersection of Duke of York Boulevard and City Centre Drive: Instead of thick white lines of the typical zebra-crossing you’ll see Crossing Pedestrians come to life, an early work by the street artist and activist known as Roadsworth.
h Back again towards the Living Arts Centre, you’ll come across another small herd of creatures: an assembly of six ancestral oxen stand together as The Bearded Ones, by Ontario artist Tom Benner.
Document your tour on social media and tag @saugaculture #SaugaPublicArtTour f On the other side of Living Arts Drive, near the intersection of Princess Royal, Contemplating Child by artist Ferruccio Sardella presents a primitive gesture of a seated child in repose in an impressive, 3,500-pound steel sculpture.
