Annual Tree Lighting
Kids dressed up in their holiday best. Sparkling lights hung throughout the Clubhouse. The sound of sleigh bells filled the air. The scenes from the Club’s annual tree lighting are some of the best memories of the holiday season. The tradition was even more treasured this year since 2020’s tree lighting couldn’t happen due to COVID protocol.
This year, bunches of GPYC kids and their families came to the Clubhouse to watch Santa arrive by sleigh on the front drive. Warmed with cups from the festive hot cocoa bar, the children’s faces lit up as Santa hopped off his sleigh and entered the Clubhouse. The group congregated around the tree in the Rotunda, where Santa did the honors of turning on the lights for the first time this season. Afterwards, families enjoyed a buffet on this spirited evening with fellow members.
