Guest Speaker Christina Freibott ‘12 Christina Freibott ‘12, a four-sport athlete at Tower Hill, had an outstanding high school athletic career. In addition to the many accolades she won as a field hockey player, she was also a state champion diver, a first team all-conference lacrosse player, a first team all-state soccer player three years in a row and first team all-conference for three years. In field hockey, Tower Hill enjoyed a dominant reign during her career, winning the state championship in her freshman year, finishing as state finalists her sophomore and junior years and as a state quarter-finalist her senior season. She garnered first team all-conference three times, was first team all-state as a junior and senior, and was selected as a 3rd team all-American player. Her awards in high school were just a warmup to what she has accomplished in field hockey in college. Christina went on to play field hockey at Columbia University and has earned numerous additional athletic awards at the college level. She was a unanimous selection to the first team All-Ivy League her junior and senior years as well as first team NFHCA All-Mideast Region those years, a unanimous Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year her junior year [leading the Ivies in points (41) and assists (21)], the national leader in assists her junior year, and Columbia’s alltime leader in points and assists. Notably, she had the single season record for points and assists and garnered top ten in the NCAA for assists and points per game her senior year. Christina was team captain her junior and senior years and was a member of the NFHCA Division I Collegiate National Academic Squad all four years of college. She was also nominated for the Connie S. Maniatty Award for Outstanding Senior Athlete and the William V. Campbell Award for Athlete of the Year. Christina graduated from Columbia on May 18 majoring in neuroscience and behavior. She will be working as a clinical research assistant at Columbia Medical Center in the Trauma Training Center beginning this summer and plans to attend medical school in the future.

Tower Hill School Sportsmanship Statement Tower Hill believes that athletic competition is an integral part of the educational and developmental process of our students and that many important lessons are taught through athletic experience. Therefore, athletics are a fundamental part of the total curriculum at Tower Hill, fulfilling our motto of “Multa Bene Facta,” Many Things Done Well. The objectives of coaches and teachers are identical: to help young people reach their fullest potential intellectually, emotionally and physically. Accordingly, sportsmanship − the demonstration of appropriate conduct, honest rivalry and graceful acceptance of the outcome − is as important as the full development of athletic skills. Critical to these teachings is the expectation that our community, as well as our athletes, will demonstrate respect for everyone involved in athletic competition.
