NOTES REGARDING 1:1 SUPPORT REGISTRATION • Due to Provincial Guidelines around cohort sizes, it is imperative that families register the child for a spot in a Summer Camp as soon as possible. If a camp program becomes full, no exceptions will be made due to group size limits put forward by the COVID-19 Provincial Safety Guidelines. • Inclusion 1:1 Support is on a first come, first serve basis. If there are no more spots in the 1:1 Inclusion Support code, please place the camper on the waitlist. Note: In these cases, 1:1 support is not guaranteed unless the participant is registered in the corresponding 1:1 Support Code. • Final decisions regarding support are at the discretion of FullTime staff. The Town reserves the right to determine when a staff is required based on information provided during intake and/or observations during camp. Town of Aurora will determine whether a participant’s support needs are beyond the scope of our Part-Time staff’s capabilities and training. In these situations, parents/guardians may be required to seek out an external support worker.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR YOU AND YOUR CAMPER!

PRE-CAMP EMAILS • The Thursday before your child begins camp, Town staff will send an email with all the information you need to get ready for camp. • To make sure you don’t miss out, please ensure your email is updated in our online registration system.

SCREENING PROCEDURES • All staff, participants and parents/guardians will be required to complete a Health Screening each day prior to attending camp or camp locations. • One parent/guardian can accompany their camper to the camp sign-in location and must supervise their camper until drop-off is complete. • Campers may not attend camp each day unless they pass all screening questions on the Health Screening. • Town of Aurora Camps will follow the guidance of York Region Public Health in regards to campers or staff who do not meet all screening questions. SIGN-OUT PROCEDURE • Photo ID will be required at each pick-up. • Campers will be released to only those people listed in the Dismissal Names section of their Camper Information Form. CAMP PROGRAMMING • Our team has been hard at work building camp programs that will ensure your child(ren) have a fun and safe summer! • Games and activities have been adapted to include physical distancing measures. • Where possible, campers will be given their own set of supplies for the duration of the camp week.

SAFE PLAY AT CAMPS The Town of Aurora is committed to providing fun, safe and engaging recreational programming opportunities to residents and community members. All participants attending programs are expected to participate and behave in a way that fosters safety to themselves and others. Town Staff will make every effort to accommodate your child’s needs in a camp setting. However, there are certain behavioural expectations that are required to be met by our participants to ensure that all campers have a rewarding, memorable and fun experience while participating in our programs. Failure to abide by our Community Code of Conduct and follow our Safe Play at Camps Behaviour Protocol may result in dismissal from the program.

SAFETY AT CAMP • All staff and campers will be asked to bring and wear their own face covering while attending camp programs. Face coverings must fully cover the participant’s mouth and nose. • If soiled or soaked, face coverings must be changed. It is recommended that campers bring 2-3 extra masks or face coverings to camp daily. • All staff and campers will wash/sanitize hands thoroughly when entering the camp location and regularly throughout the day. • Campers and staff will remain in their camp cohort (e.g. Arts Camp or Sports Camp) and will not mix with other participants or staff for the duration of the camp week. • Campers and staff will follow physical distancing guidelines (at least 2 metres) in program spaces and all activities will promote physical distancing where possible. • Cleaning and disinfecting procedures have been enhanced. Program spaces and materials will be sanitized regularly. Where possible, campers will be given their own set of supplies for the duration of the camp week. • All staff, participants and parents/guardians will adhere to directional facility flow while entering or exiting camp locations. ILLNESS AT CAMP • If a camper or staff becomes ill or shows symptoms while at camp, the individual will be separated from the group into a supervised area until they can be picked up by a parent/ guardian or go home. • Parents/guardians must provide the name each day of an individual who can pick-up participants within 30 minutes if needed. • The symptomatic individual will be referred to York Region Public Health for testing for COVID-19. • Individuals who test positive will be asked to self-isolate as directed by York Region Public Health and not return to camp. • Individuals who test negative will be allowed to return to camp once they are symptom free for 24 hours. • Camp spaces and items will be sanitized after interactions with symptomatic individuals.

Our Summer Camps will adhere to the guidelines and procedures set out by the Province of Ontario and York Region Public Health. Town of Aurora will continue to monitor these regulations and make any necessary changes to our camps throughout the summer.
