The Station Break has been serving Knox County seniors since 1974 and recently celebrated its 50-year
A major part of the Knox County community, The Station Break offers a home-delivered meal five days a week for Knox County seniors who are 60 or older and who are reasonably homebound.
The Station Break offers a congregate meal site for seniors that are independent and would like to get a nutritionally balanced meal, participate in activities, and socialize. Transportation is also available to the meal program and to medical appointments (firstcome, first-served basis, must be pre-arranged).
In addition to the regular programs, The Station Break offers a monthly fundraiser in coordination with Kevin Mishey. If you play an acoustical instrument and would like to join Kevin and others, the fundraiser is a fun and entertaining activity that anyone can join free of charge. The Station Break runs a concession stand at the event as a fundraiser to help offset the cost of building an outdoor activity and dining area.
In addition to the fundraiser, The Station Break welcomes monetary donations as well to help with large purchases such as home delivered meals and transportation vehicles (see below).
The Station Break is a county agency that advocates, promotes, and implements services appropriate to meet the ongoing needs of the 60+ population in Knox County.
