The list of candidates up for election can be found on the Town’s website under the Our Town > Council > Local Government Election tab. Time is running out to have your postal vote reach the Western Australian Electoral Commission by Saturday. If you miss sending your vote back by mail, you can bring it in to the council administration building at 99 Shepperton Road Victoria Park before 6pm on polling day. In other news, as you can see on this page, the Town has some awesome events happening over the next couple of months. I’m really excited for the Vic Park Summer Street Party in November which will be a great day out for everyone to welcome in summer. I’d also like to mention after the complete success of last year, the Town’s Field of Remembrance is returning for Remembrance Day this year. With support from the Vic Park Men’s Shed, Memorial Gardens will be transformed into a Field of Remembrance with a ceremonial planting of around 2,500 artificial poppies and 50 white crosses. Members of our community are invited to attend the planting from 10.15am followed by a moment of silence at 11am.
