for one or two days! For me though, Spring is definitely my favourite time of year. TW Magazine is due out tomorrow and there are some fabulous spring related articles, including an interview with an adventurous family who love the outdoors; Quirky Girl's story of a biking holiday on Maggie Island; a local who has created her own outdoor fashion brand; and a mad-keen fisherwoman who gives the boys a run for their money! You'll find all of these stories, plus articles from our members in this issue and they are sure to get you inspired for Spring! Look out for TW in your email inbox tomorrow!

Who are we? Townsville Women was founded by Bec Townsend - an unknown with zero experience but oodles of passion. After going on Maternity Leave and realising she didn't have a support network, she set about creating one! That was in 2015. Now here we are over 3 years later and Bec continues to share her passion, and now her network, with thousands of followers every week! There are regular social networking events that nurture and create new friendships between women who otherwise may be feeling isolated or unable to meet new people easily. Recently the Townsville Women behind-the-scenes team of one (Bec) grew to two, with Tracey Bannerman coming on to help manage our Social Media presence.

FROM ENGINEERING TO FASHION

From Engineering to fashion - how does a skilled Metallurgical Engineer end up owning her own fashion stores…? In Touch Boutique owner/ operator Jo Weston was a Metallurgical Engineer for 20 years working in the mining, manufacturing, oil & gas industries. After wearing high vis every day, it was a welcome change to step into the world of evening wear each day. “I have a somewhat “healthy” obsession with beautiful clothes after wearing high vis clothing to work for nearly 20 years. I have always wanted to own my own business, enjoy a challenge, like to try new things and we love living in Townsville", says Jo. In 2015, Jo took over the In Touch Boutique at Willows Shopping Centre. After 3 very successful years, Jo recently decided to open a second store at Stocklands Townsville to keep up with demand. With a larger store and the ability to carry more lines, In Touch Boutiqueis now able to cater to a wider market, carrying intricate evening wear, fashionable business attire and summer dresses. This Thursday, 30th of August, In Touch Boutique is holding a storewide sale at the new Stockland Townsville store in order to make room for the amazing spring stock that is on its way. This sale is a chance for people to experience our beautiful clothing at a very affordable price. "We are passionate about our clothing and the customer experience we provide", says Jo. Every single item in the Stockland store will be reduced to at least 50% off! This includes formal gowns, cocktail dresses, races outfits, smart casual clothing for high teas, lunch or even breakfast, dinner or birthday parties. Tops, shorts, skirts, pant and dresses! Be sure to come in any time this Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday to get the best of what In Touch Boutique has to offer at incredible prices!
