Tree farms part of Christmas traditions By Mark Dionne Town Times

While the families wandering around Durham and Middlefield tree farms are no comparison to the massive crowds in big box stores and malls, the Friday and weekend after Thanksgiving is a busy time for local Christmas tree sellers. The Friday after Thanksgiving – Black Friday to large

retailers – is the first day to sell Christmas trees for some local businesses. Maplewood Farm, Miller Tree Farm, the Herzig Family Tree Farm and the Dumas Christmas Tree Farm all opened on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
