Middlefield native makes NFL roster Durham
to gain medical tent
A Middlefield native has made the Green Bay Packers roster. Tim Boyle went undrafted in the 2018 NFL Draft and signed with the Packers as a free agent in May. The 6-4, 230-pound quarterback made Green Bay’s 53-man roster on Sept. 1. In Green Bay’s 31-17 preseason win over the Tennessee Titans, Boyle completed 7 of 15 throws for 130 yards and two touchdowns.
The Town of Durham Emergency Management Department was approved for an Emergency Services Inflatable Tent through the 2018 Neighborhood Assistance Act program.
Boyle attended Xavier High School in Middletown. He went on to play at the University of Connecticut from 2013-15 and at Eastern Kentucky in 2017. Currently listed as the third-string quarterback on Green Bay’s depth chart, Boyle will back-up Aaron Rodgers and DeShone Kizer.

Sean Dunnigan, John Fotopoulos and Jack Brady contributed to the many sacks that kept East Hampton in negative yardage. “The defense was amazingly well-coordinated for the first time playing,” said Chris Moore, president of the DM Falcons.

The inflatable tent would serve as a mobile emergency operations center, incident command center, inflatable medical tent and place of refuge for emergency responders in the Durham Public Safety Department, which encompasses fire, EMS emergency management and state police. The Neighborhood Assistance Act program is designed to provide funding to state-approved community programs conducted by municipal agencies or community non-profit organizations. The NAA works with businesses to provide a state tax credit for cash contributions made to these community programs. See Services, A7

Together we are able to make a real difference in the lives of so many. Consider the support provided to Clinton Human Services Partners In Community REACT, a substance abuse prevention program offering empowerment and leadership skills development to our region’s young people. And consider funding for enhancing independent, more connected lives through a grant to the Cromwell Senior Center’s “Sip & Swipe Café,” a technology program providing one-on-one and group learning and access to iPads.
