District 13’s Central Office will get a redesign and upgrade starting in October and ending over the December break, according to plans discussed at the Wednesday, Aug. 26 Board of Education meeting. The redesign will shift offices, replace the carpeting, remove counter workspaces, replace furniture, and extend partitions at work stations for a total projected cost of $49,719. Middlefield begins job study By Mark Dionne Town Times
A consultant hired by the town of Middlefield to review the job descriptions of town employees has started work, according to First Selectman Jon Brayshaw. The study, being conducted by Randi Frank of Randi Frank Consulting of Wallingford, was initially going to include a salary comparison between employees of Middlefield and similar towns but that part of the study was See Study / Page 4
Local students return to the classroom On Thursday, Aug. 27, 1,718 students in District 13 returned to school for the 2015-2016 school year.
