TPASC Aquatic Centre

The Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) will provide users with the best possible facilities to enjoy a wide range of aquatic events. From recreational swimming to water polo, to high performance swimming and diving, the Aquatic Centre at TPASC will benefit the entire community. Built to international standards for competition, both the competition and training pools measure approximately 52.03m x 25m and feature 10 competition lanes of 2.5m each. The volume of water for each pool is approximately 3,880,000 litres. During the 2015 Toronto Pan Am and Parapan Am Games, the TPASC Aquatics Centre played host to diving, swimming and synchronized swimming. The Competition Pool features permanent gallery seating for 2277 people plus 24 mobility aided seats. A curtain can separate the Competition Pool from Dive Pool activities and plug-ins allow for an underwater sound system. The Training Pool, where most of the TPASC fitness member swimming takes place, has two moveable floor sections that will adjust the depth up to level with the deck, allowing for adaptive programming. Modesty blinds are in place to cover all windows during Women’s Only or special group training in this pool. AODA accommodations include 2 PAL lifts and a portable ramp for entry/exit from the pool. One of the highlights of TPASC is the Dive Pool, which measures five metres in depth and can accommodate eight lanes of pool for practice swimming. Permanent dive towers were designed for 10-metre, seven-metre, five-metre and three-metre platform diving. Springboard diving boards are also available for one-metre and three-metre diving. On-deck showers and adjacent Diving Dryland Training Centre complete with trampolines, dive pit, harness rig and cushioned flooring complete this world-class facility. TPASC members will be provided with open lane swimming throughout all hours of regular operation.

Sports Academy And Food & Beverage Sports Academy The Sports Academy provides teams, clubs and organizations the opportunity to experience, targeted, sport-specific training at a world-class venue. Available for competitive athletes and recreational enthusiasts, the Sports Academy is aligned with the Canadian Sport 4 Life nationally-recognized Long Term Athlete Development Model, and will engage training experts to better understand periodization of athletes within different stages of development. The Sports Academy offers different streams based on the level of the athlete and team: The Day Program is an individual day where teams, classes or recreational groups come to TPASC to participate in fully structured programming. This can include fitness classes, climbing wall, on-court training, etc. The Day program can also be an introduction for teams interested in curriculum. The Recreation Program is a weekly or monthly program where participants experience a new recreation activity each time. A trip can include any of the modules in the day program, and always ends with a cool down in the pool. The recreation program is great for teams looking to train outside of their field of play, but do not need a full strength and conditioning program. In the Curriculum Program, calendars are created to properly focus on testing assessment, training, monitoring, maintenance and team building. Combine data measures athlete progress over the duration of the program. Trainers lead easy-to-follow combine tests, and data is loaded to an athletes profile and can be tracked by the coach, trainer or the athlete. Using state-of-the-art equipment, multiple testing data points can be tracked over time to show improvements. Testing also provides access to an interactive and exclusive Sports Academy Mobile App. To bring your training experience to the next level, contact academy@tpasc.ca. Food & Beverage A variety of culinary options are now available at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) with the opening of its modern food and beverage area called Pool Sides. Located inside the south atrium of TPASC, the 1,200 square-foot Pool Sides features a full Tim Hortons速, Pizza Pizza速 eatery and exclusive Pool Sides Bar & Grille, where patrons can enjoy a variety of healthy and quick service food in addition to drinks from a fully-licensed bar.
