Thakher Development Company has announced that the first phase of its $7 billion Thakher Makkah development is close to completion. The project, which spans 320,000m2 and is located 1km from Masjid al-Haram (the Grand Mosque) in Makkah, is slated to become the perfect base for pilgrims to the Holy City.

The project, when completed, will generate 15,000 direct and 18,000 indirect jobs and will contribute to Makkah's long-term growth.
