Documentary

Children of Ukraine

Children of Ukraine is a powerful documentary from Renegade Pictures by award-winning filmmaker and war reporter Shahida Tulaganova which aired on ITV, 13 November 2022. The 60-minute film follows Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the first of its kind to focus entirely on the children living through it. A story of fear, loss and hardship but also of extraordinary resilience and bravery. Part of ITV's BAFTA-winning Exposure strand, Children of Ukraine, hears directly from ten children through compelling testimonies, showing first-hand how the war has changed and shaped their lives as they live through the conflict. This was a targeted campaign with key national coverage.

Israel & Palestine: The Untold Story

The Tinderbox - Israel & Palestine: The Untold Story is the directorial debut from Gillian Mosely and a personal film. The film is the culmination of three decades spent studying and questioning one of the world’s most complex conflicts. As a British-American Jew raised in a strongly Zionist household, director Gillian Mosely thought she understood the IsraeliPalestinian conflict: its roots and repercussions, and the different sides involved. But a chance encounter with a Palestinian man – who would later become a close friend – prompted the film producer to reconsider her beliefs. The Tinderbox had a UK-wide theatrical release from February 2022.

Festivals

BBC Arabic Festival

The BBC Arabic Festival 2019 was a free, annual event in London's BBC Radio Theatre presenting films about today’s Arab world to a UK and global audience. The films shed light on the stories behind the headlines: coming of age stories about young women, life as a gay man in today’s Beirut, and the chilling role of technology in enabling people to witness their families in war zones. These extraordinary stories were told through a range of genres – from observational documentary to short features; comedy to mockumentary. tpr media positioned the festival as showcasing thoughtful and inspiring films, shedding new light on the Middle East and positioning Arabic film as high quality world cinema.
