Handwriting Without Tears: A therapeutic protocol for handwriting that is aimed at developing both good penmanship and an ability to express oneself well using written language.

Books & Babies for Pre-Walkers For babies up to 18 months who are not walking Books & Babies focuses on the development of pre-literacy skills as well as babies’ physical, social, and cognitive growth. It also provides a nurturing environment for caregivers and babies to bond and learn together. This storytime encourages a love of books, song, movement, rhythm and rhyme. Following the program, babies can expand their motor, sensory and social skills during free play time, which also provides caregivers the opportunity to socialize and meet people in the community. PLAYBALL 404 Playball is not just another ball program Forsyth County Parks and Recreation uses the medium of sports, not only to improve gross motor development, increase concentration skills, build low muscle tone, teach children to be competent in hand-eye/foot-eye coordination and improve balance; but sport is also used to teach basic, essential life skills. At Playball your children will learn persistence, courage, cooperation, respect, positive relationships, self-worth, communication, responsibility, and countless other attributes. The program teaches the fundamental skills in a variety of sports such as soccer, basketball, tennis, baseball, hockey and much more. The fee is $128.

TAEKWONDO Learn an ancient art for modern times by using up-to-date natural body movement techniques that are safe and customized to all physical abilities. Training focuses on self-discipline and physical fitness as well as development of empathy, kindness for others, and integrity of one’s heart and soul, while also developing mental toughness that naturally comes with physical training in Taekwondo. Spring Youth Basketball 2020 Age divisions include 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14 and 15-18 for both girls and boys. Spring league practices will begin in early March. Games will begin in early April, and each team will play an 8-game schedule.
American Red Cross Preschool Aquatics courses offered at the Cumming Aquatic Center target children from about 3 to 6 years of age. The program consists of three levels that teach fundamental water safety and aquatic skills. The program allows participants to move seamlessly into learn-to-swim courses as they get older and progress through the levels. Preschool classes are 30 minutes long.

LET’S PRETEND: NATURE’S MUSIC Ages 3-5 years Child attends independently • 10-10:30 a.m. or 5-5:30 p.m. Thursdays The preschool years are so important in preparing children for their experience in school while having the potential to develop a life-long love of learning in your child. Participating in music classes increases children’s social and emotional wellness including the important areas of empathy and appropriate social interaction all while encouraging them to develop their imagination through fun and guided play. The theme for our winter session is Nature’s Music. Through this Musikgarten curriculum we’ll enjoy learning about all of the musical sounds inherit in nature. STORYBOOK THEATER FAPA’s Storybook Theater classes are specially designed for our 4-5 year old friends. Children learn acting, storytelling, music and dance through games, pantomime, puppets, masks, beginning reader’s theater and more.
