Growing up as a child, I would love to look at old, run down buildings, and then imagine what they could look like if someone cared enough to put some time and hard work into transforming the broken into something beautiful. As I have pursued a degree in interior design, I realized that I could be that someone to put the time and hard work into not only restoring beauty, but also creating innovative designs that can alter the way we see the world around us. My objective with interior design is to use the abilities God has given me to design spaces that allow people to experience exactly what they need. Whether it is performing at the maximum level in the workplace, bringing comfort and peace to the healthcare patient, or stimulating success in the classroom, interior design has the ability to create an atmosphere that accommodates more than the client thought possible. I would characterize myself as a hard worker with a desire to learn as much as I can about the people and places around me so I can contribute in a way that will make a difference to the world of design. I want to collaborate with fellow designers in the pursuit of excellence by being challenged and pushed to new limits. The art of interior design has the potential to make the world a more beautiful and innovative place, and I look forward to the part I will play in contributing to creative design solutions.

BRANDING STRATEGY: From the French language, Luxe Elevee is translated into “elevated luxury,” an atmosphere that the high-end store will strive to provide for the customers through elegant design and a layout conducive for shoppers to easily access the assistance of employees. Our concept surrounds the idea that the customer’s experience and relationship with the brand is an essential part of the retail world, and Luxe Elevee will develop into a name that consumers can trust and become loyal to.
The name of the retail store will be engraved on the ground so it is the first and the last thing a consumer sees when visiting the store, allowing Luxe Elevee to leave a lasting impression on the customer. Branding will be in certain areas of the store by using signage with the Luxe Elevee name on it, but it will focus more on the name itself than on imagery. The ambition behind this is to solidify who Luxe Elevee is as a brand, but allow the customer to create his or her own imagery of the store based on their experience with Luxe Elevee.

JAPANESE RESIDENCE KYOTO, JAPAN
PROBLEM STATEMENT: The design for the Taro family home should encompass both the American design elements of the Miller House, while also incorporating the tradition and simplistic, nature-inspired aesthetic of the Japanese culture. To achieve the desired affect of the home, certain Japanese elements need to be added such as shoji panels and tatami mats, while also providing freedom of movement to maneuver comfortably throughout the home. CONCEPT STATEMENT: The Taro family’s home will capture the spirit of Shibui design by drawing inspiration from nature and reflecting it into the home, creating a feeling of harmony and poise within the space. The synthesis between sleek elegance of Japanese tradition and contemporary designs inspired by Alexander Girard form a dichotomy of aesthetics that will merge together to form one unified design. Visitors will feel a sense of welcome and intimacy when gathered together as the home will embrace the importance of a Centralized community. The open layout will allow freedom of movement for the family without surrendering the sense of a close-knit atmosphere.m

COMMUNITY CENTER
MARION, IN
Problem Statement: The design for the Community School of the Arts should address the inadequate space for studios and classrooms and the dilapidated condition of the project space. The disconnect between the site’s exterior and interior hinders the commemoration of the historical attributes of the CSA and the city of Marion. To encourage and maintain the capacity of increased enrollment, the design needs to be a functional learning environment that fosters an inviting and creative atmosphere. Concept Statement: The Community School of the Arts will capture the essence of creativity and innovation by using local success stories to inspire students to write their own success stories. The design will reflect a modern take of the Art Deco period while maintaining functionality and cohesiveness in the space. The goal of embracing the rich history of Marion in a creative yet professional manner will be achieved by a sophisticated yet welcoming ambience of nostalgic warmth.
