8243 Ward Ranch Road Marietta, OK 73448

Fellow cattlemen and cattlewomen, it is with great anticipation that we welcome you to the K Bar D Ranch 2022 offering in lush Marietta, OK. Bruce and Kathy Brooks have opened their beautiful place and sale facility to Kimeric, Camille, and Everett to hold their production sale in very south-central Oklahoma. Some of the Best of the West has to offer will be available for viewing and appraisal from October 1 through sale day on October 9, 2022.

This dense quality set of stock is without question the deepest set of opens and breds to ever be offered by the operation. Embryo transfer has been stepped up to bring you more of what is in demand and to offer more of the three-time National Western Stock Show Division Champion Female, K Bar D Wendy 151E and her sisters. KR Mojo is the lead sire of choice once again as the full sibs to last year’s sale feature and high sellers. The cattle are loaded with substance, body, and true dimension with his service featured on the bred heifer division as well. K Bar sampled the popular and proven Conley Express. A sire that needs no introduction or pat on the back, as a mature Angus breeding bull he will impress those that have been by Sulphur, OK in recent days and his trail of success is noted.

Please make plans to join us October 9, 2022, for a fantastic event and opportunity to grow your Angus program at the Brooks Cattle Company Sale Facility just right off of I-35 at Marietta, Oklahoma. Also, remember that the cattle will be available for viewing October 1 through sale day, and if you need any assistance with anything associated with this sale offering please give any of the marketing team a call or send us a text.

Graham Blagg - Jered Shipman - Tim Anderson

Kim is very passionate about the beef business and the Angus breed. He has always had a talent for the phenotype and realized early that the number profile needed to be considered in combination with the physical beast. He also approaches breeding with limited bulls on an annual basis to continue the consistency of the brand and the end product. The cattle are designed to thrive in the rugged, western high desert country, but when introduced to different parts of the land they do readily acclimate and are profit drivers for the new owners. No Secrets equals pure balance, business sense, and a set of females that will generate and produce the kind you desire for your respective operation.

The Oregon based outfit is no stranger to long distance travel, but this is the first time that they elected to take a leap of faith and bring the goods 1500 miles closer. High Desert country in the Western States has been under extreme drought conditions for the past three to four years. Irrigation water for the crops and grass has been hoarded by EPA regulation, municipality needs, recreational use and tourism instead of assisting the food supply chain and the families that depend on it for income and survival. So, K Bar and his girls will make the offering available in a centrally located setting. The cattle that have always represented the program will still be the same and they are backed by the same solid reputation and salt of the earth people that they have always been.

6 • The pursuit of raising Angus seedstock that are deemed acceptable at either end of the spectrum continually proves to be difficult, however when the stars align and these goals become reality, the pursuit becomes all worth it. We feel like the pair of sisters that will be tagged with Lot 1 give us belief that we are on the right path. • These two daughters of Conley Express 7211 represent the ideals of what the K Bar D program stand for. Their awesome look balances perfectly with their mass, bone composition and foot size, they are wide pinned, big bodied and cowy. They bridge the gap between the show industry and the real world. • K Bar D Wendy 149E is a direct daughter of PVF Insight 0129 and goes back to the iconic, K Bar D Wendy K1T in her maternal linage, making her a threequarter sibling to K Bar D Wendy 151E. Maternally you find the legendary DPL Sandy 3040 female, a direct daughter of K N C Cabin Creek Sandy 804. Apart from Express, other sons of 3040 include the $160,000 Lazy JB Edge 8745 and DPL Dillinger. Lots 2 - 4 • The Wendy cow family has undoubtably carried our program onto the next level, and the star of the show is K Bar D Wendy 151E, the dam of these three full sisters. This new mating with Conley Express 7211 on Wendy 151E could possibly be the one we have all been waiting for, a mating that combines two of the most potent cow families that the Angus seedstock business has ever seen. • The oldest of the trio, Wendy 70K is the combination female, and one that we struggle to really put a hole in. We love the way she balances from the side, and the effortless way she ties together in her spine, transitions out of her forerib and functions her hind leg. We think this one runs with the best on the tanbark, and between her cow power and phenotype, has the makings of a cornerstone donor prospect for her new owners. D Wendy 79K is the youngest of the full sisters, but we think the most intriguing in her build. The upside potential here is very exciting and worth evaluating, because it would come as no surprise to us if she develops into the one that hangs the most purple banners at the end of the day. Her presence and eye appeal are striking, the correctness of build is reassuring and the composition of her pieces is ideal.

• K Bar D Wendy 16K has the advantage when to comes finding one with a heavier muscle pattern and stoutness of feature. She is extra long sided, bold centered and combines this robustness with ultimate levels of femineity and look. We predict her to be a generator of herd bulls down the road, but her added hair quality will sure make for a fun time on the show road beforehand.

• We regard K Bar D Wendy 151E as phenotypically elite of an Angus female as we have ever produced. In person she takes one’s breath away, and we feel honored to have her wandering the pastures of Deschutes County. The heritability of her phenotype has proven to be potent and fortified, her daughters are consistently blessed with an authentic and enviable structural build, and a silhouette that captivates.

• The combination of KR Mojo 8520 and K Bar D Wendy 151E continues to prove to be one of the most potent mergers we have witnessed in Redmond, Oregon. But when you begin to analyze the members of the pedigrees of these heifers then the outcome becomes more logical.

Then when you get to inspect her and break her down phenotypically it only further validates the investment opportunity here. Possibly the stoutest in her bone makeup of these 151E daughters, and one that’s potential goes further than her time in the show ring, but as a valuable member of your cowherd and donor battery. • A full sister to Wendy 76K calls home to Grandview, Texas under the ownership and management of Brecken Shipman, Col. K Bar D Wendy 13H was the lot 1 female in 2020, half interest in her sold for $15,000 to Kathryn Coleman of California. 13H experienced great success on the tan bark, as a calf she was reserve in the Winter Calf division in Reno, and then went on to be slapped as the 2021 Western Regional Angus Futurity Reserve Grand Champion PGS Female. LOT 5 - K BAR D WENDY 8K LOT

• We think this one might be the most exciting maternal prospect/donor candidate in the offering, where this one stands alone is the unique pedigree she brings to the offering. J&J Weigh Up 294 is one of the most admired Angus beef bulls by stockmen from coast to coast, border to border. You can see this quality and authentic build has transmitted unequivocally to 8K.

• The dam of 8K is one of the most trustworthy Wendy descendants of the tribe, unfortunately she has only ever raised one other daughter, and so letting any piece go of this 2022 model is a decision not easily made. K Bar D Wendy 8W, was Reserve Winter Calf at the National Western Stock Show, and being a granddaughter of K Bar D Wendy K1T closely links her to many banner winners for our program.

BUBS Southern Charm AA31 - Sire of Lot 9

• Rounding out the trio of Princess 6358 sisters is the BUBS Southern Charm AA31 daughter that you will undoubtably find if you’re in pursuit for super power cow prospects. You cannot deny the boldness and substance of feature of this March born heifer calf.

• Whilst BUBS Southern Charm AA31 may not be a go to name in the show cattle arena, he is a familiar face to astute stockmen nationwide, he has produced a $100,000 sale feature for Nowatzke Cattle in Indiana, an $80,000 heifer calf sold at 44 Farms in Texas and the $43,000 top-seller for Yon Family Farms of South Carolina.

• We think the investment here is bound to multiply exponentially.

• We love the functional build of this direct daughter of Silveiras Princess 6358, in the pursuit to keep making these show cattle so unique and “out there” we think it’s become increasingly easy to lose sight of the product we are producing. But its cattle built like 14K that help readjust the kaleidoscope, fault free structurally, robust in their body shape, appropriate in frame size and dimensional from every standpoint.

• The full sisters to Princess 14K were in strong demand at the 2021 “No Secrets” event, averaging north of $7,250 and selling to the keen eyes of Abby Bianchi, Garren Walrod, Lynzee Storey and Stephen Koontz.

• We love turning to some of the past greats to reinject quality, we are true believers that elite seedstock come in a timeless phenotype, and there is no questioning if that phrase applies to the legendary BC Lookout 7024.

Open

• Just keep in mind these cattle are lotted by cow family, not quality or generating potential, not to demean the value of heifer calves lotted lower in order, but the opportunities for return that lay with K Bar D Savannah 9K may be as safe as any that sell on October 9th. The early growth trend, easy keeping pattern and maternal function that this On Point 25F daughter surfaces with is impressive.

Females

• With that in mind, there is nothing old school about the build and composition of K Bar D Erika 1K, this Lookout daughter could even be described as futuristic in her eye appeal and presence. She has long been a favorite of those who have inspected the offering in Oregon, and we think her kind will be very well accepted in the sale pens once the cattle arrive on the red dirt of Marietta, add the fact that she has the attitude of an absolute sweetheart.

• She is a direct daughter of K Bar D Savannah 38D, this cow comes as a familiar face to our loyal clientele as the mother of our herd sire, K Bar D Turning Point 5F. The K Bar D Savannah cow family originates with Malsons Savannah 102W, another true herd bull generator, with sons such as K Bar D Joe Canada 18D and KR Millionaire.

Elite Angus

• Fancy featured and cool looking, the later maturing kind that with some feed and time will develop into a wise investment. The On Point 25F cattle are built ideal at the ground, and flexible up high, just trust in the cow families here.

Open

• The origins of the K Bar D Naturaal cow family trace back to the iconic Blackbird of Holiday 0123 female, this TC Stockman 365 daughter was slapped Reserve Grand Champion Female at the 2002 American Royal Super Point Roll of Victory Angus Show, in Kansas City, Missouri.

21

• The sire of K Bar D Dolly 27K, K Bar D On Point 25F is a Turning Point son that is leaving a very strong impression on the replacement pen here in Redmond. His daughters are stamped with a low maintenance, easy keeping growth pattern, they are the kind that will have an extended career in the cowherd because of the structural build that comes standard issue.

Females

• The impressive maternal linage of 29K goes further than her grandmother, further back you will find she is a descendant of the $280,000 full sister to Grid Maker in G A R 044 Traveler 2328, a female that many would perhaps still describe as the ideal Angus female. 29K is a balanced and functional show heifer prospect that is destined to make a great breeding piece.

• As enthusiasts of Angus seedstock, we recognize the value of a maternal pedigree centered around the power of the Blackcap cow family. The pedigree of this March born On Point 25F daughter traces to Vintage Blackcap 4256 who has been a mainstay in the donor battery for us, she has yielded several sale features, including a $25,000 daughter that was the selection of Sierra Ranches.

• The sire of Wendy 1J, combines the influences of Stevenson’s Turning Point and the K Bar D Savannah 38D female, another foundation in the donor pen. K Bar D Turning Point 5F has proven to be a true breeding bull, we have turned to him to add structural integrity and genuine shape and mass. He is a maternal brother to Daisy Trowbridge’s selection from our 2020 sale who was selected as the Grand Champion Angus female at the 2021 New York State Fair ROV show.

• 1J was bred up early to Kraye Big Country 0179, meaning she will be ready to enter embryo production and create a quick return on investment, the appeal of this female goes much further than phenotypically.

• The pedigree of K Bar D Wendy 1J is built upon the fact she is a direct daughter of K Bar D Wendy 151E, the leading lady of our program, one that needs zero introductions to any follower of our program. 151E is the only female that has ever won her division three consecutive years at the National Western Stock Show, she has become the cover girl for our program, and then validated her successes by becoming a force in the donor pen. Even Colonel Shipman’s discriminating eye selected a three quarter sister to 1J in last year’s sale, and we look forward to seeing her on the tan bark this coming winter.

• This trio of siblings help justify the excitement we have for the K Bar D Wendy 149E female who is cementing her position in the donor battery and being sired by the versatile Stevenson Turning Point adds value that goes way beyond just being standout show heifer prospects. A full sister to this trio was a sale highlight in the 2020 “No Secrets” when she became the selection of Hartman Cattle Company, of Tecumseh Nebraska, we look forward to seeing what her influence will produce in their program. K Bar D Wendy 149E is a direct daughter of PVF Insight 0129 and goes back to the matriarch, K Bar D Wendy K1T in her maternal linage, making her a three-quarter sibling to K Bar D Wendy 151E.

Maternal Bred Angus Heifers

• A trio of sisters that are going to be extremely hard to load on the trailer headed to Marietta. We love to sell fancy show heifers into great families each year, and watch the success stories both in and out of the ring that they have over the year. But for us it’s really hard to see these bred heifers go, particularly when they are bred in the purple just like these three standouts.

• Choices can be made in regard to service sire and calving dates, but there are certainly some factors that tie these three together from a phenotype standpoint; maternal in their muscle pattern, flat and smooth jointed, fluid on the move and are bold sprung in their ribcage. An impressive group, we look forward to visiting about which is your favorite.

We love the daughters we have retained in herd, but as to make this an event worthwhile for our customers, our best sell! Add the fact that that she is a full sister to K Bar D Wendy 13H who was the lot 1 female in 2020, a half interest in her sold for $15,000 to Kathryn Coleman of California. • There is a name that will never go out of style around the K Bar D, and that’s Wendy! 45J represents the last opportunity to secure a K Bar D Wendy daughter this year, they have proved to be worthy investments for many of those that have made the decision to purchase one. 45J went on the show road as a calf, bringing home the Reserve Heifer Calf Champion banner at the 2021 Oregon State Fair, following in the footsteps of her dam, 6F who was the Champion Cow/Calf Pair at the American Royal the previous year.

• We love how this one is built, we won’t be surprised when her name becomes a longtime producer for her new home, she is awesome in her foot shape, long and smooth in her muscle pattern and has the feminine feature that reassures that the Princess Cow Family has an immortal name among the best the breed has seen.

When Clinton Moncahmp purchased the dam of 36F we couldn’t be more confident that she was going to become a foundation type female for their Angus seedstock herd.

29 Maternal Bred Angus Heifers

• Her name describes her perfectly, this one has the added presence and look that catches your eye immediately. However it’s for good reason because she’s much more than a pretty face, as 21J comes with a set of rugged running gear, and an extra dense body cavity.

• The phenotype of Fansi Lady 21J was by no mistake, she goes back to a foundation of the K Bar D Angus cowherd, T J R A925 Lady, who was named the Reserve Junior Champion Female at the 1997 National Western Stock Show. Quality never goes out of style.

TO

• The loose structured, flatter muscled type that we know will mature into a front pasture type of female in production. We think she will mimic her mother’s awesome udder set up and maternal instinct. We all know the quality that comes standard issue with the Blackbird cow family.

• There is no doubting that 29J has the big running gear and looseness of structure. We love her maternal quality, ease of fleshing and low input design. This is the kind that keep you in business, even if the going gets tough.

• A direct daughter of K Bar D Turning Point 5F that goes back to a legacy female in the Angus breed, one that needs little introduction, Greens Princess 1012. 1012 has generated as many dollars and individuals of notoriety as any female in the breed, she is the mother of EXAR Blue Chip 1877B and the grandmother to both EXAR Classen 1422B and the million dollar producing EXAR Princess 5391.

• She was Ai’ed to the talk of the town, Krebs Mojo 8520, you would struggle to find another complete outcross sire that combines elite phenotype and genotype quite like Mojo, he sired our two high selling Wendy daughters in last year’s sale at $42,000 and $30,000.

• There is quality throughout the offering, we truly think we have put together an offering as diverse as we ever had, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring them to Oklahoma to show them to you.

• K Bar D Erica K2J is an own daughter of our resident senior herd sire in K Bar D Carhartt 48G, who is a littermate to K Bar D Bull Dozer 47G. This pedigree is the result of stacking generations of the Angus breeds most visually appeasing members, guaranteeing a consistent and predictable outcome. Proof exists with K Bar D Erica K2J, she is long and level spined, elegant about her head and extended in the way her neck ties high at the top of her shoulder blade. The composition of the middle third of her body is bold and deep, and the structural integrity that forms her foundation is flexible and effortless. We believe that this one is a CATCH!

• The youngest of all the bred heifers in the offering, but one that continues to mature with quality. This K Bar D Turning Point 25F daughter comes from the Elaine cow family that has been a staple in the K Bar D program since the beginning, going back to the original WK Elaine 2261 that came out of the famed Whitestone Krebs program. A cow family admired for their elegance and low input body type, but ones that always weaned off big calves, we know that this one will make for a happy customer.

BC Robust 0807 - Service sire to Lot 28

Maternal Bred Angus Heifers

• Elaine 57J is the only female in this offering carrying a pregnancy by a sire that we are anxious to use more of, BC Robust 0807. The progeny reports we are hearing and seeing are impressive, and once we heard the buzz about his daughter in production we bred as many as possible this way, an exciting future ahead!
