On behalf of the Oklahoma Angus Association, welcome to the Thirteenth Annual Oklahoma Angus Gathering Sale, held in conjunction with the 2012 Oklahoma Angus Association Annual Meetings and Banquet.

I am especially excited about this year’s offering. Grass is green, the ponds are full and this 2012 offering is packed with an outstanding set of production females perfect to build back our cow herd numbers after last year’s drought. Breeders who have attended past Gathering sale events have had the opportunity to see outstanding Angus cattle from herds throughout the state. The 2012 offering is likely the most exciting to date—from both a genetic and phenotypical perspective. A special feature this year is the complete dispersion of the Braden and Colton Henricks’ cow herd. Every female that is not currently in their show string is being offered in this sale. Colton is currently in college, and Braden is in his senior year of high school, so this is their “college bound” event. Oklahoma is fortunate to have many outstanding herds of Angus cattle, and the genetics represented here are second to none. This is indeed a well-balanced consignment, and quality is present throughout each class of females selling. You will see that there is a very promising set of open show and donor prospects plus some extra nice bred heifers and a deep set of spring and fall cow/ calf pairs. Oklahoma Angus breeders are sharing with you some of the best they have to offer! Please plan to join your fellow breeders for what promises to be a great Oklahoma Angus weekend! Due to renovations at the Oklahoma State University Purebred Beef Cattle Center Sale Facility, The Gathering Sale will be hosted by J&J Cattle Company west of Stillwater—just west of I-35 on the south side of Highway 51. Other maternal sisters to S292 include Ever Entense 4038, a $60,000-valued female also from the 2008 Limestone Sale, and Empire Everelda Entense 2171, the mother of Limestone Ever Entense T116, the New Look daughter that was the $17,000 selection of A-Cross Ranch through the 2008 sale at Limestone. Until their dispersion in May 2010, 414 served as the cornerstone donor for J&J Cattle Company. Most recently, embryos by Macho sold in the Branson Production Sale for $1,200, and Fred Schultz acquired half interest in 414 through a private treaty sale. Queen 414 is made for those who enjoy looking at great cattle.
