FIRST AID MEASURES
Inhalation Inhalation of concentrated vapours at elevated temperatures can cause irritation to the nose, throat and lungs. If inhaled, remove from contaminated area. Apply artificial respiration if not breathing. Seek medical attention. Cyanide fumes may be released if the product is heated. Ingestion Small quantity accidentally ingested presents no known poisoning hazard. However, immediate medical advice should be sought. The main hazard from this product is related to the solvent. The product may cause irritation to the skin and respiratory tract. Will cause irritation to the mucous membranes. Skin Mild irritant. Wash affected area thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse or discard. Seek medical attention. Eye Mild irritant. If contact with the eye(s) occur, wash with copious amounts of water, holding eyelid(s) open. Take care not to rinse contaminated water into the non-affected eye. In all cases of eye contamination it is a sensible precaution to seek medical advice. First Aid Facilities Eye wash and normal washroom facilities. Advice to Doctor Treat symptomatically. Cyanide salts can produce emollient laxative effects as well as other signs of GI irritation such as nausea and vomiting. Whilst Prussian Blue appears to be of low toxicity since the cyanide is bound, there have been inconclusive reports that the cyanide maybe liberated from the stomach as a result of contact with gastric acidity but this is poorly documented. Other Information For advice, contact a Poisons Information Centre (Phone eg Australia 131 126; New Zealand 0800 764 766) or a doctor (at once).
