Skyler Michael William Brandt, better known as “TradeWithWill,” is a day trader who turned his challenging early life in Anchorage, Alaska, into a testament to the power of resilience and hard work. Born on April 22, 2004, his initial circumstances were far from promising—his mother, a teenager herself, struggled financially, which led to periods of homelessness and reliance on shelter housing. It was during this time that he stayed with his grandmother, a move that provided stability during his formative years and instilled in him the determination to seek a better financial future. TradeWithWill’s first encounter with day trading came at the age of 16, after discovering a YouTube video on the subject. The concept of buying and selling stocks within a single day resonated with him, presenting a way to escape the cycle of poverty. He was drawn to the control and scalability that day trading offered and wasted no time diving headlong into learning everything he could about the market. By 17, he was working remotely as a full-stack software engineer for Highroads, a job that not only paid well but also allowed him the flexibility to pursue his interest in trading. Despite the security this job offered, TradeWithWill felt a stronger pull towards trading and eventually decided to focus on it full-time. This decision was risky and initially led to financial losses, but it also marked a pivotal moment in his career. He reassessed his strategies and doubled down on his commitment to becoming a successful trader. TradeWithWill’s perseverance began to pay off as he started to make consistent profits. His success within his trading community grew, but so did his disillusionment with his mentor, whom he realized was more a marketer than a trader. This realization led him to leave the community and strike out on his own, taking many followers with him who trusted his genuine skill and dedication over the glossy veneer of his former mentor.
