Over 8 million passengers travel through Phuket’s Phuket s airport each year year, making it the Kingdom’s second busiest airport. Due to its large g p passenger g and aircraft numbers it is in the process of undergoing a major renovation, which includes a new international terminal, cargo office ff and car park. The entire expansion will cost 5 8 billion Baht (around 118 million 5.8 pounds) and is scheduled to be completed by 2015.

ď śThe expansion of the airport will open it up for more airlines and more international flight options. ď śPhuket International Airport already sees flights arriving from Australia, Germany, Holland, Hong g Kong, g Abu Dhabi, Korea, Switzerland, France, China and Russia as well as major hubs throughout Southern A i Asia.

ď śIt currently has two terminals; one for international flights and the other for domestic ones. The existing building will be changed g to serve only y domestic flights, while the new terminal will serve as its international terminal. ď śAlong with the transformed airport, tourists will see other improvements such as metre t taxi t i services, i li limousine i service i and plenty more shops and eateries.
